The Twitter Thread

You guys are silly. "Twitter sucks, people sit around and talk about their lives instead of living them blah blah etc"

Uhhhh we're on a messageboard

but we're having conversations....stuff that has a point...Twitter is just a way of telling people what you're doing because you want them to care and have a hole inside that only attention can fill

Twitter can have entertainment value. I got into a fight with a celebrity one time, it was a good time

The Hype is my only online vice...I have no MySpace, FaceBook, Blog, Vlog, LiveJournal, Friendster, or Twitter

MySpace (which I never check anymore and should just delete)
Facebook (which I use daily, mostly to see how my family on the other side of the country is doing)

Blog-No
Vlog-No
LJ-No
Friendster-No
Twitter-No

Could have been a fake celebrity account....just like there are fake FaceBook and MySpace pages for celebs....I read somewhere that Missy Peregrym had a serious issue with someone fronting a MySpace page claiming they were her

i find the same thing happens when my girlfriend calls me from work during the day, then attempts to re-tell me the same stories.

in all honesty, i'd rather not hear it the first time, let alone the second

No, it wasn't. Not really a real 'celebrity' either.... Jhonen Vasquez. He's the creator of Invader Zim and a comic series called Johnny The Homicidal Maniac

My best friend is obsessed with him, so I used to follow him (before he blocked me). Basically the guy spends all his twitter time insulting his fans and talking about how ****** it is to have to sign autographs, blah blah blah

I sent him a message saying basically 'Get some ****ing respect because your fans are the reason you get to sit on your ass playing video games and twittering all day'

He was pissed, made like four public posts directing his 'fans' to come attack my twitter (all I got were people thanking me for sticking up to him) and then blocked me

So I should have said "Celebrity" because he's not SUPER famous

I was still proud haha

Invader Zim has been over for a while now hasn't it? he's probably getting ticked of having to answer the same question over and over....no excuse to be a **** though....

there's an old saying "Never meet your heroes, you'll be disappointed"

I started using Twitter again about a month ago because my friend has it and I use to joke around with him, plus follow celebs and get info/updates on some things.

I think it's a good tool if you have fun with it but constantly updating it every five minutes with "OMG eating nachos" and whatnot seems silly to me.

But I'm at work right now, what do you expect me to do, actually work?!?!

Someone made a fake Will Smith account and my buddy found it and briefly chatted with him. He left him a message about how to use twitter and when"therealwillsmith" responded he got super excited because he thought he actually talked to Will Smith.

When he told me about it I asked him, "How do you know it's really Will Smith? ". His response was. "Well, he left "therealshaq" a tweet saying he was his inspiration for starting twitter!!!". I was like, " How does that prove it's actually Will Smith?". He could never give me a legitimate reason to believe it was really Smith and it was kinda sad because I felt like I crushed his dream.

I don't get Twitter...

...but Facebook is awesome. :D

The truth hurts for some people

I use Twitter, but I never have a shortage of things to talk about with my friends. Mostly because I use Twitter to talk about what I'm seeing on daytime TV. You gotta save the juicy bits of your life for later.

On the radio this morning some girl was complaining about Twitter because it ruined her friendships. She said that because of the constant updating when they get together they have nothing to talk about. They said everything they needed to through Twitter. lol.

OMG, I really am eating nachos

I use Twitter, mostly to follow several marvel creators I talk to because I am trying to write for them, and Jon Favreau because he gives hints about the Iron Man 2 movie which are fun to read. But I also use it to update my friends as to where I am during the day, because I have a fairly set schedule, and if I am not where they expect me to be, I get (no joke) sometimes 10 to 15 texts on my phone asking where I am. They all know now to look on facebook and say, "Ah, she's at the comic shop today" or whatever

People are using info like that to rob houses now.....

I hear many celebrities have Twitter pages (that aren't imposters). Which celebrities are these?

Shaq, Kevin Smith, Neil Gaiman, a ton of stand-up comedians, and Star Trek TNG's Wil Wheaton is surprisingly popular.

Apparently Nathan Fillion just joined: http://***********/NathanFillion
