The things you miss thread.

I never watched Buffy all the way through.....I'd watch it sort of casually because they did some of the filming where I went to school. It was kind of fun seeing the places I used to walk around or hang out. Kresge College was one filming location I remember. It was just up the road from the College I was in. Lotsa friends up there. Talking Heads did a surprise show there once. That was pretty cool.

Soooooo.....I guess I should headslap myself....here goes. :gibbs:

OMG!!! You watched Angel before Buffy......:gibbs:
i didn't know it was a spinoff at the time and when i found out, there wasn't really a way to go back and watch old eps from the beginning and they hardly ever crossed over at that point.

Makes sense.

The whole experience of renting a VHS

I know. Right? How much fun was that? I used to love to go and search for movies at the local video store that had a little basketball hoop high up on the wall maybe 20 feet behind the counter. If you could wad up a piece of paper and make the shot, you got a free video. You had to wad the paper up nice and tight. I made a lot of my shots, had my happy dance scripted and the customers used to get a big kick out of it. The people that worked at the store knew me (obviously) and nicknamed me "Hollywood". I'm very introverted.

The most epic nickname in the history Of choreographed victory dances.

Suits you.
You've seen me dance.....

I remain forever indebted to you for the wisdom you have passed on to me.

My local video store just closed last month. They were going strong until covid hit. I already miss them.

I miss hand-written letters.

I miss video game systems that required a game cartridge, and tethered controllers.

I miss packed movie theaters.

If it was anything similar to that dance... Well, I have no words, actually.

PS, nah... It was just a small tip. No biggie.

Although I'm a people person and having no respect whatsoever for personal space... This is the only thing that I don't miss. I do miss the "going to the movies" experience, I just don't want people eating popcorn around.

I think I miss going to the movies more than anything. I almost never have people around me because I like to sit in the 3 or 4th row of seats in the theater that has the biggest screen I can find (generally IMAX or XD screen). I love having a movie fill my entire field of vision. I find it allows me to more easily immerse myself in the movie.

I used to go once a month, no more than that! It was my own personal treat. I was getting used to those late night movies but then... Lockdown happened and I got Amazon Prime and Disney+, as a lame excuse.

I would eagerly await Fridays because when I worked at UCLA my schedule included a half day off at the end of the week and I could go to the matinees starting from 11am or so. I got to know the crew at the new Cinemark and even got a meeting with the SVP of Marketing from Texas, James Meredith, when he was out here for the opening of their new XD theater and got pictures of everything; including the projection booth. I did a write up on my website. It's still there, but is outdated now. Someday, I'll pull a @flickchick85 and go clean that mess up.

If you double click on the shot of the screen, you get an idea of how big it is. It's like 80+ feet wide.

Yeah, there's a dude wearing a suit and he's tiny in comparison to the screen. Have you just revealed your identity? Oh, oh... Do you know what happens to those who reveal their faces?

I've revealed the identity of SVP James Meredith.....I'm more of a jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoe/Teva kind of guy.

I'm the photographer

I'm sorry but the team it's on their way. There's nothing we can do now... Poor dude.
