How so Kane? It's been a while since I've seen the first one. Did I miss some detail there? Or are you chalking all the continuities errors up to them being [blackout]brainwashed?[/blackout]

You are sounding irate sir, I will not have it.

Completely sincere. I want these movies to make sense. Please tell me what details I missed.

I've given up on trying to understand Hawkman. I wrapped my head around Donna Troy, Rachel Summers, and Cable. That's enough complicated origins for me.
I find Cable and Rachel Summers backstories easy to follow.

I hope Marvel has finally settled on what the hell Ghost Riders origins is and what nationality, religion, race Monet from X-Factor is.

Isn't Monet a French-speaking Monacan-born Muslim with a Moroccan father and an Algerian mother?

Why was there no scene showing their house burn down? That would have been a great end to the film. The fireplace was in the center of the shot for about 20% of the film and was filled with flamable stuffed animals. Both sisters talk about the fire in the previous films. Why not show it here? Instead we get a cliched evil grandma ancient cult ******** ending. You know where I've seen that before? Halloween. It didn't work there. It doesn't work here. What exactly are the demons motivations? It wants one of the girls to have a son? Okay, that's fine. So why does it kill Christy (or whatever the younger one's name is) in the 2nd film if she and the creature become so buddy/buddy in this one? How did the girls ever even part ways with evil grandma to grow up and have fmailies? Why was there no mention of their dead parents in the previous films?

House burning down is most likely a deleted scene that the directors thought wouldn't fit or would just drag down the ending. As for the Coven, I thought it was better than what they did in The Last Exorcism where they made a complete left turn at the end that made no sense whatsoever. So call it cliched (though most things are these days) but that Coven in PA3 was well executed in my book. As for the demons motivations, like spoons said, we dont know the full extent to why Toby wants a boy but once Kristi had one he didnt care what happens to the girls as long as he gets the baby. Just my thoughts on it, im sure the next one will explain more.

Even the coven though. What's their motivation? They raise the demon and find a host for it, and then what? Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit.
My main feeling is this: What made the original PA so scary is that it was so ordinary. Normal house. Normal people. Scary ****ing thing living there. It didn't have a creepy mansion or a creepy neighbor telling them they were all doomed. It was scary because when I was sitting in my normal apartment watching it, my normal apartment looked a helluva lot like their house.
Now the story has gotten in the more fantastic with ancient family secrets, and creepy evil grandmas, and covenants, and all kinds of crap that doesn't fit in a normal setting. It's the same reason why the original Halloween was scary. Psychopath escapes and starts murdering babysitters. Could happen in any town. But then Halloween made the mistake of piling on old family secrets and ancient cults and prophesies and all kinds of stupid ******** nonesense. PA is making the same mistakes.

I'll agree with you on that, the original had all it needed to tell the story. Same for Halloween, but I also have to add that with Halloween III they had the right idea to continue the series without continuing the story. Not to mention that theme song was so underrated.

I saw it at the barbershop last week. Yeah, it was good.

Her father isn't Moroccan his Monegasques.

Morocco is the north African french speaking muslim kingdom and Monaco is the millionaires playground small European principality on the boarder of France.

Monet was born in Bosnia during a family ski trip which I'm sure they added just to make it even more complicated to follow and then you got her twin sisters Nicole/Claudette and the Penance/Hollow cluster****.

Emplate turned Monet into Penance and the twins Nicole and Claudette who is autistic combined and impersonated Monet.

The real un-Penance Monet didn't show up in Genration X until avout halfway thought the titles run.

Monet also has Algerian, French and Bosnian Citzenship but there is no mention of her having Monegasques citzenship despite that being where her family home is and the nationality of the rest of her family.

Weird. I heard Monet had origins in both Monaco and Morocco as a result of writers accidentally using them interchangeably. But that'd only make things more complicated.

Either way, I read Monet's dialogue in the comics with a French accent.

I read it with perfect English because M would be like, f**k accents.

Speaking of French Muslims, whatever happened to that parkor Batman? Why did they give Batwing a series instead of him?

Same reason they didn't do that issue of Superman with that Muslim Superhero. :o

I would read a Nightrunner series

Though Batwing has actually been pretty good Womp Winnick has done a good job of making him heroic and likable. I'm digging it right now

All your questions were left unanswered for a reason...PA4. Idk why u so mad son.

I think a fourth one would be pushing it

I liked 1-3 but i think its best if its just a trilogy.

Your barbershop plays movies? :wow:

African American Barbershops are bootleg movie central. :o

They played movies occasionally at a place where I used to get my haircut, it's not that big of a surprise to me.

Do you need to know anything from Asylum if you get Arkham City?

I haven't played City yet, but probably just that the Joker [BLACKOUT]is sick from a Titan drug overdose.[/BLACKOUT]

Nothing hugely important

There's some backstory for characters like the Joker that happened in Arkham Asylum but you don't need to have played it to understand the plot of Arkham City :)
