I find Cable and Rachel Summers backstories easy to follow.I've given up on trying to understand Hawkman. I wrapped my head around Donna Troy, Rachel Summers, and Cable. That's enough complicated origins for me.
Completely sincere. I want these movies to make sense. Please tell me what details I missed.
Why was there no scene showing their house burn down? That would have been a great end to the film. The fireplace was in the center of the shot for about 20% of the film and was filled with flamable stuffed animals. Both sisters talk about the fire in the previous films. Why not show it here? Instead we get a cliched evil grandma ancient cult ******** ending. You know where I've seen that before? Halloween. It didn't work there. It doesn't work here. What exactly are the demons motivations? It wants one of the girls to have a son? Okay, that's fine. So why does it kill Christy (or whatever the younger one's name is) in the 2nd film if she and the creature become so buddy/buddy in this one? How did the girls ever even part ways with evil grandma to grow up and have fmailies? Why was there no mention of their dead parents in the previous films?
House burning down is most likely a deleted scene that the directors thought wouldn't fit or would just drag down the ending. As for the Coven, I thought it was better than what they did in The Last Exorcism where they made a complete left turn at the end that made no sense whatsoever. So call it cliched (though most things are these days) but that Coven in PA3 was well executed in my book. As for the demons motivations, like spoons said, we dont know the full extent to why Toby wants a boy but once Kristi had one he didnt care what happens to the girls as long as he gets the baby. Just my thoughts on it, im sure the next one will explain more.
Even the coven though. What's their motivation? They raise the demon and find a host for it, and then what? Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit.
My main feeling is this: What made the original PA so scary is that it was so ordinary. Normal house. Normal people. Scary ****ing thing living there. It didn't have a creepy mansion or a creepy neighbor telling them they were all doomed. It was scary because when I was sitting in my normal apartment watching it, my normal apartment looked a helluva lot like their house.
Now the story has gotten in the more fantastic with ancient family secrets, and creepy evil grandmas, and covenants, and all kinds of crap that doesn't fit in a normal setting. It's the same reason why the original Halloween was scary. Psychopath escapes and starts murdering babysitters. Could happen in any town. But then Halloween made the mistake of piling on old family secrets and ancient cults and prophesies and all kinds of stupid ******** nonesense. PA is making the same mistakes.
Her father isn't Moroccan his Monegasques.Isn't Monet a French-speaking Monacan-born Muslim with a Moroccan father and an Algerian mother?
