Actually, in hindsight I think I misquoted him. I think he said "hang your hat on it" rather than "take it for granted"... But the general point remains the same.

I'm having a similar argument in the Indy V thread. I'm for finally getting a new Indy in there. A "Roger Moore" for the franchise, if you will and I'm surprised at the level of selfish attachment people have to certain personalities.

:indy::indy::indy:

I totally understand why some fans can't envision anyone else in the role.

A asshat friend of mine once joked that he envisioned a Star Wars prequel centered around Han Solo, which seemed like an awesome idea up until he mentioned casting Freddie Prinze Jr. as a young Han Solo. I almost went Jihad on his ass.

Wing Commander wasn't all that bad.....oh yea it kinda was but the action scenes were pretty good

I never saw it. I've never actually played a single Wing Commander in my life. Now that I think of it, I've never played a single flight-combat game ever.

Ford got the role when he was 39 years old. You bring in someone with a personality that people already know and preferably love, get a good serial style story again and let Spielberg do his thing - New Indy would make bajillions and be fun again.

Sounds weird but I could actually see Ben Affleck make his return as new Indy.

Ben is directing now and don't be surprised if he ends up in office a few years down the road

Well, he's just a brain tickler. He's the sort of actor that's already in our minds that would take Indy to his next logical step.

Any other actors fit that formula?

To play Indy? Hrmm...Big shoes to fill.

I'd go with someone who'd look good in both a classroom full of kids and in the classic hat and whip.

Actually, why not Matt Damon? I think he's a much better actor than Affleck in so many ways.

Good one. He's got to keep making other films. A good publicist would have helped Chris Reeves, Mark Hamil, and Shatner.

Actors complain that they don't want to be signature characters their whole life but if they keep working like Ford did, they don't have to.

two of my favorite Harrison Ford films have nothing to do with his franchises

- The Fugitive

- Hollywood Homicide

I used to watch Young Adventures Of Indiana Jones so I'm already used to seeing another actor play Indy.

I don't have a problem with Harrison Ford being replaced but I would rather it wasn't Shia LeBouef. The adventures of Mutt Smith doesn't really intrest me.

Brendan Fraser did a pretty good job as a Indy knock off in The Mummy franchise

New lounge is nice and squeakey clean!

Except for that spot in the corner where BL peed. :o

Hey guys, cool new lounge!

*gets shoved into a garbage bin*

What would be so cool about having Superman fly around a city, invunerable to about 90% of the **** Arkham can throw at him? Maybe the only one thing that poses a challenge to him is Riddler's puzzles but he'd probably just bulldoze his way to get to every trophy.
That! Everything you just said. You go through the game fighting tooth and nail as Batman and his allies, and then, like six months or so after that, Rocksteady's like, "You know there were times when you wished you could just bulldoze everything. Well, we're proud to introduce the Superman DLC, which allows you to do just that!"

It'd just be a bit of fun after everyone's gotten used to most of what the game has to offer. Something to reintroduce it from a new perspective.

Anybody else watch Real Time with Bill Maher? I never miss it and this week's show was a doozy.

Hey Darth I'm watching Vampire Diaries with my Gf and yeah its pretty ****ing awesome.

I wish Luke and Leia weren't fat ****s and maybe we could have a New Jedi Order trilogy :(

I'd settle for a Starkiller anime style movie though

When you mean Starkiller, do you mean the Proto-Star Wars concepts or do you mean the Force Unleashed guy?

Because I totally hate that guy.

Truth be told, I had this discussion with a friend about a "Star Wars" anime and we more or less agreed that it needed to be an Expanded Universe deal with new characters (with some Legacy ties) on a ship, Cowboy Bebop style.

I actually drafted the characters I had in mind for this RPG I was trying to form. Nothing came of it.

how the **** can you hate Galen Marek? even the way he holds a lightsaber is badass

I'm not really a fan. Although his story from the first game is not too bad.

They should do an Old Republic show with cameos from Zayne, Revan, Malak, Mandalore, Bastila, etc. That'd be awesome.
