The unAUTHENTIC DC Boards Lounge version 8.9

Superman/Batman is one of my all time favorite series. Even when Loeb left there were some real good stories there.

I've read far worse. I mean Superman/Batman was like the Michael Bay movie version of comics. All action, little plot.

I thought Mark Millar wrote the Michael Bay movie versions of comics.

That only really applies to Ultimates. He's more of let me be controversial for the sake of controversy guy. I don't know who the movie director equivalent would be.

Oliver Stone

And with Millar, the movie versions of his stories does turn out to be better because they remove that "controversial for the sake of controversy" stigma from the stories.

I thought the Wanted movie was way better than the book. I guess it's because I hated the comic version of Wesley.

Comparing Mike Millar to Oliver Stone is like comparing Matt Fraction to Francis Ford Coppola.

F*** Mike Millar and everyone who looks like him.

So yeah...The Poughkeepsie Tapes is a pretty messed up mockumentary. At the same time the people being interviewed was laughable.

F**k Liking Wesley. He was a Super Villain. He's supposed to be an A-hole. Liking him should never have been the point. I hate that they changed the entire premiss of the book, which was what if Super Villains won, and took over the world?

I've seen 1,000's of movies about noble Assassins duped by their masters into doing s**t they don't wanna do. I never seen a raid on an alternate universe by a group of super villains trying to steal a kryptonite condom for s**ts and giggles.

Book was way better. I've never been one to hate on Millar. I like most of his stuff. Red Son, Ultimates 1 and 2, Wanted, his run on the Authority, etc.

It's not only that, but I didn't find him that compelling, nor did I care for the character. Wesley in the movie felt more like a complete character to me.

But to each their own. I did like Red Son, though.

Wesley in the movie felt like every other *****e bag in every other action movie.

The biggest thing with Millars early works...how much of it was him and how much of it was Grant Morrison?

I actully don't mind Mark Millar. Some of his work is a bit juvenile its like he says "look boobs, look explosions, look blood, aren't I naughty". If your 12 year old and you where raised in a cave in the middle of nowhere then I'm sure Mark Millar is shocking but for everyone else its like "please mark stop trying so hard".

I Liked the Supergirl arc despite it's incredibly flaws such as Batman > Amazon soldiers scenery lol, oh and Loeb's feelings that characters like Thor and Wonder Woman should be jerks to others because they're "gods".

And Batman showing Darkseid the back of his pimp hand made me make the  face

What happened in it Kane

My favorite thing about the hulk is how isn't in any of the other gifs.

Not a Hulk fan Lix?

Also your avatar is very neat looking it gets a  for me. That robot is cute :)

yes and no. it's not that i hate the hulk as a property, i dislike it sure but not hate, it's that i hate the way he gets so much of a push from marvel while they let some of their other infinitely more interesting properties flounder. also i hate the push the hulk franchise has gotten to be on par with cap, thor, and ironman in the avengers and the infuriating belief by many neophyte comic fans that this has always been this way and should be this way. it's not even logical for the hulk himself for this to be the case! you want the hulk there for the origin? sure, i can support that, but after that he needs to disappear quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Read Peter Davids run..read Greg Pak's uh read.. **** it I tried.
Though I'd wager the reason they're pushing Hulk is because they own **** all of the rights to the more high profile members so they figured they'd incorporate another A-lister for ****s and gigs.
