It got me slightly excited there is a ton of us with all his abilities in this trailer, including his Spidey Sense, which honestly wasn't used enough in Raimi's films it always seemed saved fro Money shots while here it just seems the norm. Still think the costume is iffy.

You spelt "******" wrong. :o

Yeah, I'm not a particular fan of it either. It's like they tried hard to come off with a more realistic look that it actually comes off looking a lot more fake. Uncanny Valley'd!

I hope Amazing Spider-Mans untold story isn't that he was molested like in that weird comic and Black Lips song Spidey's Curse

Overall this new trailer hasn't got me really excited, which is a shame because I used LOVE Spider-Man.

I think it's pretty cool. I love the scene where he's sitting in the back of the car cracking wise to the thief. And it seems he actually makes a web in the sewers as a way of detecting movement of the Lizard, which is a nice idea.

I thought the trailer looked fantastic. I never really did buy Tobey as Parker, I like Garfield ssooo much better. :D

I am gonna reserve judgement until i see the whole film, right now, he didn't feel like PP much to me, PP doesn't slam Flash Thompson up against lockers violently, I don't care what he's done, it just seemed a bit out of character, not the way Lee and Ditko handled the character at all.
but, y'know, maybe it is like those ultimate comics or something, I dunno if the character was changed a little for those.
and I fear they are trying too hard with trying to make him quippy Spider-man, the clip we got, eh, he was about as funny as Garfield, didn't sound like Spider-man to me.
but, even if he doesn't work for me as PP/SM per se, I will probably still enjoy the movie, and just imagine he is some alternate universe version of SM.

Darker does not necessarily equal better if the character doesn't really call for it, we saw DC make that mistake with Superman Returns and almost a second time with the other s***** sounding Superman idea they had for a while there.

I'm a little weary of the mood, it sounds like it's trying to ride too close to the Batman wash, but with Lizard you can kind of accept it.

And yeah, Pete throwing Flash against lockers and s*** isn't really in character. There's a lot of suppression that goes on with Parker because he CAN'T do stuff like that... leading to angst. That's where the angst should have been coming from in Raimi's titles. He's someone who's only really happy when he can cut loose out in his Spidey gear open and free, riding on currents and webs through New York City and life isn't simple enough for him to just do that all the time. Raimi-verse had angst, but it wasn't really the same as what PP generally goes through.

man, i hope I am wrong about my impression of the character from the trailer, I'm not trying to rain on the parade, it's just what I was thinking when I watched the trailer. I don't wanna be sitting watching a Spider-man film and thinking 'this does not feel like Spider-man...', all the way through it.
Because it does kind of feel like a mix of Batman and Spider-man they are going for, so I don't know, he could feel like a different superhero to me, we'll see.

Well...they had a fair amount of the usual stuff Spider-man angeters about in the Raimi flicks, the death of his uncle, being skint and trying to sell photos to the Bugle to get by, girlfriend troubles due to the superhero life, friends becoming villans, they covered quite a bit for two hour movies.

So I was lounging around this IT mall when I saw a bunch of kids playing this game on the 360 or PS3 whith a bunch of small toy figures. Called Skylanders. I was BLOWN AWAY by the concept. I mean, the graphics were kind of kiddy but for that age group, its completely understandable. Plus the figures and characters look so damn quirky yet cool, it like the YuGiOh world where cards come to life and stuff. I was mesmerized by it. Then I saw Spyro and I was like...Really? That's Spyro???

The there was this one dude, Gill Grunt. I mean seriously. Gill Grunt! How cool of a name is that?

Made me wish I had a kid just to find an excuse to buy the game and the toys.

What makes you think you need a kid to have an excuse to buy it? Youse a grown ass man. Play your little kiddie games. Sure we're all gonna judge you but hey! The only opinion that matters is your own.

Watching Farscape again. I totally forgot that Grayza raped the s*** out of Crichton repeatedly.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man: Still too Ultimatey. I like the wisecracking in the backseat of the car with the carjacker, but other than that, meh. The costume's terrible, too much emphasis on the legacy of Peter's dad, and the stupid unmasking bulls*** starts all over again. Plus, was that Denis f***ing Leary as Captain Stacy?

Yup.

This time around, Captain Stacy's an A-hole. :o

You got a problem with that? :argh:

But, yeah, I'll agree that the trailer didn't do it for me at all.

The thing about Amazing Spider-Man, it seems like it would have been an awesome movie....in 1997. That's the feel I get, like it's too MTV.

Yes, I have a problem with that. Next thing you know, Captain Stacy's gonna be f***ing Aunt May and drinking himself to an early grave before Doc Ock ever shows up.

As he should. :o

At least Cap Stacy promised Aunt May a free toaster. :o

Yeah, pretty meh on the new spidey. Gonna miss that long awkward sex talk from harris

I'm feeling fairly optimistic about the Spiderman movie at the moment after seeing the trailer

I think I'll definitely be going to see it when it comes out

That's quite the unsettling mental image Corp :ninja:

You don't need an excuse Sandwraith

Spyro is a great game and i still love playing it. Your never too old to play Spyro :)

I decided to get caught up on Rulk's activities since he's actually become a decent character as Ross searching for redemption rather than Loeb's mystery Hulk who punches the entire Marvel universe in the face. I bought World War Hulks and the two available post-Loeb Hulk trades. Just finished World War Hulks. It's... about what you'd expect from Loeb. Shoddy writing, simple plot, characters acting like idiots. Apparently the whole thing Ross is seeking redemption for is trying to take over the country with the Intelligencia and set it back on the right track--presumably with an iron fist--after all the recent disasters (Civil War, Osborn's Dark Avengers, etc.). Which is, you know... a really, really stupid plan for any marginally intelligent American, let alone one the comics themselves keep telling me is a "brilliant military tactician." I thought Ross just wanted redemption for trying to use the power of a Hulk to finally kill the Hulk, only to realize he had become an even worse monster himself. Which I suppose is basically the broad strokes of it... but man, trust Loeb to fumble on the specifics. Oh, and what's the deal with Samson? They mention that MODOK's controlling him to some extent, but he's a total d-bag. Also, he has mutton-chops and fangs for some reason now.

Anyway, Parker's tenure begins next. That I'm actually looking forward to.

Yup.

Noooooo :csad:
