The comics are at least as good as Buffy for staying consistent to the show. Other than the somewhat meh art, it's like watching the show again. There are only two more trades yet to be published before the entire series and all the minis are collected, too.

Do you know when the next trade will be out Corp

And how have you been liking Buffy season 9 since you mention it :)

War for the Uncharted Territories, Part 1 comes out in March.

I like Buffy season 9. It's way better than season 8 so far. Much more grounded and familiar to what Buffy's always been about. I think Whedon got a little carried away with the freedom the comic medium allowed him vs. TV in season 8.

I'm liking Angel & Faith more overall, though, especially now that Dru just showed up mysteriously sane. The only part of A&F I don't like is that it's more Faith than Angel. I get that it's scaled down because Angel's got his whole guilt thing, so he's laser-focused on Giles' resurrection, but I would really love to see it eventually expand to include Connor and maybe Wesley's ghost again. Basically, I want Angel to be the star of his own show again--even if it's a co-star kind of thing with Faith--rather than an outcast who can't stand to look any of the other major characters in the eye because he got taken over by some evil force again and did something soul-wrenchingly horrible again and feels like he needs to atone again. It's a story we've seen far too often with Angel.

I've got to agree I'm finding season 9 more enjoyable than the whole army of slayers thing in season 8. I dug some of the characters but overall it didn't seem enough like the show

And yep Angel needs to stop angsting so much. I would give him ten Shinji Ikari's out of ten for angsty emo-ness right now and that is dangerous levels of angst

Even at his most angst filled in his show he still smiled sometimes :ninja:

More than anything else, I'd really love to see him get back to being the darker mirror to Buffy. Buffy makes moral choices surrounded by friends and family; Angel makes amoral choices for the greater good surrounded by co-conspirators. I want to see him get back to stuff like murdering Drogan because the ultimate goal of bringing down the Circle of the Black Thorn is so much bigger than any one champion's life. Moral ambiguity that Angel doesn't cringe and apologize for. That's when he's most interesting to me. I really wish he could've still been running Wolfram & Hart while Buffy had her Slayer army. Casting him as Twilight was a huge f***-up, in my opinion.

Agreed

That whole Twilight thing was a pretty terrible idea in general really. Proving my theory that anything involving vampires and the word Twilight will immediately be fail in a whale

Angel being the amoral guy trying to do the right thing but making morally grey choices is more interesting than Angel as the guy running around in a wacky costume having sex in space with Buffy and then killing Giles because something something

The space ****ing was exceptional though :o

More TV needs to be like Smile Time. :o

Possibly the best episode of television. Ever.

Oddly enough, Farscape features a character's kid doin' it with his significant other too. What's with that plot element turning up in otherwise great shows?

That's just good drama. Even happened on a couple of eps of Cheaters.

Everything involving Connor and "Cordy" boning aside, I quite enjoyed S4. The Faith arc was actually when I began watching.

Maybe a lot of writers have a secret lust to write incest romance

Jeph Loeb certainly does. Ultimates 3 should be called 'Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch: The incest years'

The Wasp being all 'Cap wtf why do you have a problem with Quicksilver sleeping with his sister you are so old fashioned' was both hilarious but also a little bit terrifying :ninja:

I've come around on season 4. It was pretty solid.

Also, Farscape totally pulled off the son-bonin'-stepmom element, unlike Angel. Jothee had only just met Chiana rather than being raised from birth by her, D'argo and Chiana were already sort of on the rocks without overtly showing it, Chiana's a total ho anyway, and she's much younger than D'argo and immaturely lashing out due to her fear of the commitment D'argo tries to thrust on her. Cordy and Connor was just... :barf:

It was so unsettling seeing them acting like a couple when Cordy was the closest thing to a mom Connor ever had

As much as I loved the series finale, I'll never forgive whoever put together its promo for spoiling Lorne killing Lindsay. That could've been the biggest shock of the episode, but instead I knew about it a full week ahead. :csad:

I don't remember seeing the promo. It was a pretty awesome moment to me regardless.

:csad:

Why would they spoil one of the main twists of the episode like that

It would've been like them showing Anya getting practically cut in half by a Bringer in the promos for Buffy's finale.

God, I miss Anya. :csad:

i give that one a pass though because ultimate wasp has no idea what a healthy relationship is, so she probably thought it was awesome since wanda wasn't getting beaten or having to go to vfw functions all the time

Ah yes Ultimate Hank Pym the wife beating drug addict

I am so glad they killed off that dbag

God, I miss Anya. :csad:

She was adorable and warned us of the dangers of bunnies

Poor Anya :csad:
