Is there a virgin wing at Arkham?

Is there a virgin wing at Arkham?![]()
Codename Sailor V said:Well, at least you loved it for a time. You still bought the **** out of it, right? That part wasn't a lie![]()
But you still found a way to name-drop 'em, didn't you?
Fine. But if I can't count the number of giant teardrops in each episode on one hand, I'm coming to hunt you down.![]()

Do it. I still gotta read up on the actual myths myself. The Eddas are just so boring, though. For every awesome myth about Thor fighting old age in the form of an old lady, there are a dozen about the Norse rules of hospitality and s***.That reminds me. I've been meaning to do some homework on the other 7 worlds excluding Asgard, Jotunheim, and Helheim. Starting with Niflheim
/bored at work![]()

Mysti, you should read the Defenders. Valkyrie is a sword swingin' momma with lucious tatas. And on the side you get the other side of Asgard.
Just sayin'

Can you suggest any good graphic novels i should read to get my luscioys sword swinging lady fixBeware of things you "learn" from the comics. They're almost always different from the original myths.
Yep, that's it. The issue it references, Thor #296, was part of an awesome set of arcs that delved into the nature of Asgard, the gods' past, the Celestials, the Eternals and Deviants, Ragnarok, and other pantheons. It just built on itself from like the #270s all the way through the early #300s. Damn good time for the Thor series.Sounds like the stuff that Odin is talking about here.

I need to read that arc. I guess I'll start around 270.
The Defenders only published around 135 issues. The older stuff reflects the times. A bit corny but fun and then they get quirky and dark around 70ish or so.
If you have the money or can find "other" ways to check them out, I'd start at the beginning with Vol. 1, but if you wanna jump right in start with Essential Defenders, Vol. 5.
That is the ensemble issues with a bit of a focus on Hellcat/Nighthawk/Hellstrom but it leads up to the big throwdown with Satan and his boys. They are great and introduce us to Gargoyle and Devil-Slayer.
But again I'd start at the beginning. Plenty of Brunnehilde to go around.

You might look for Defenders in the cheap bins at your LCS. Always a fun scavenger hunt in those bins.

I didn't hate Grevioux's series, but I wish they'd called it something other than New Warriors. But I'm getting enough New Warriors action from Speedball and Justice in Avengers Academy right now, so I'm good. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to Nova coming back, though.
Yes, it's definitely worth checking out. It's pretty much the only Avengers comic right now that feels like an Avengers comic. Is Avengers Academy worth checking out
I have seen it on the shelves but have not read it before now
I'm sure he's coming back. Everyone comes back in comics. The question is when?
