I'm a pretty big fan myself and I had no issue with any of it. Changes are going to be made, but the spirit of the characters were still there.

I haven't seen it yet but the fact that so much of it takes place on Earth makes no sense.

How does it not make any sense? Earth is in Hal's sector, and it'd work best for the first movie to take place on Earth for the general audience. The sequel can have more space stuff.

**** the general audience (at least in this instance)

I think we're past the point where comic book films have to pander to the unwashed masses

Hal's sector is more than Earth though right? Go fight on Mars or something. But I guess Paralax trying to destroy the Earth would explain that. The critics also complained that Hammond was the worst part of it all.

In other news, I finally watched Jason X. Hahahahaha

I want to hate Jason X, but it had Lexa Doig in it.

she's all right but I much preferred the ****ty white chick who was banging the professor

The end of the movie took place near the sun. There was a brief stopover on Earth.

<3 Neil Patrick Harris one of my favourite actors is finally getting married to his boyfriend!<3

the reason why Parallex went to earth is because he followed Abin Sur's ring

how else do you set up yellow/fear for the trilogy? would you prefer them explaining Qward to these numb skulls? Antimatter for little jimmy?

How can you explain the fear rings when the essence of fear was killed by a single Green Lantern and why should Sinestro ever use a weaker energy since Will power seems much more powerful in the movie universe than fear.

it wasn't though...

the host was thrown into the sun, it's obvious that fear still lives on  i mean just look at the extra scene.

having not watched 'Commando' in YEARS and watching it now....it still holds up

no ulterior motives, no twist ending, just a man taking everyone out to get his daughter back

Aye, the story of the father who will stop at nothing to 'get his daughter back'.
He will even stoop to conjuring up lies to besmirch the rep of her boyfriend he does not like personally.
Funny, it crossed my mind when this started that he might be in on it.
Not that that gives the set up any more validity, in fact all it means is there is an ulterior motive, personal dislike, which means he'd stoop to conjuring up lies.
Anyway, moot point, I go to my grave knowing my integrity is intact, and I am surrounded by a bunch of crooks.

his daughter is like 9 or 10 years old....and considering how imposing Schwarzenegger was back then, I doubt she had a boyfriend

Aye, we both know what we're really talking about, and that I'm the only one in this conversation with any integrity.

I was talking about how much I still enjoy the movie 'Commando'....what are you talking about?

speaking of Arnold, with him coming back to movies....does anyone think he still got it?

Nothing really to it. Pull out a big gun. Kill a bunch of people. Say "I'll be back", roll credits.
