I wanted to go see a movie today since I had the day off, but I ended up just sleeping and watching Robocop and half of Robocop 2. The movie itself is awesome, but Robocop himself is damn near useless.

Maybe I'll watch the second half of Robocop 2 then. But from what I saw, he was a joke. Did you guys know they made like 5 direct to video Robocop movies? And yes, they're just as crappy as you're imagining them to be.

That's a movie that's crying out for a remake, honestly. Probably more than any other property I could think of...

DAMN! If there was ever a logo of the evil corporation, OCP would be it.

Robocop was way ahead of its time in my opinion. It still holds up to a lot of the current movies.

Completely agree. There were a lot of great elements to the movie, but I just couldn't get past how ineffective Robocop was. You'd need an unknown to be Robocop though. I can't see any big name being willing to cover his entire face and speak in monotone for 2 hours.

They look like they were shot in the same style as Skinemax movies from the mid to late 90's.

Hell, Stallone wasn't willing to in Judge Dredd... All of the "Ooops, Spidey's mask tore" moments which inevitably occur...

As far as I'm concerned, Dredd is as uninteresting as the Punisher.

I prefer Punisher to Dredd... But I think there's more of cinematic value to Judge Dredd than Punisher, or at least it's easier to make an interesting Judge Dredd film because of the world AROUND the characters that they exist in.

Punisher would depend a lot more on finding a balance with the writing and selecting actors who can make it work. That's still important to Dredd but the sets should at least be able to distract.

Agreed Dredd himself is pretty two dimensional but the world around him can be used to create some pretty interesting and entertaining stories
