Fun on a bun

I know 'bro'. I know that word.

Ah well, if you're sure. I'll put it in my Peanuts Moleskin then. Don't know if it'll ever come of anything, but it seems like a perfectly viable idea.

Not to derail the bro-train, but I happen to read this interview with Mark Millar regarding digital comics and found it interesting:

Nrama: You made reference to the novelty of someone starting a print product in this day and age, and just recently you’ve made some much-discussed comments online about the viability, at this point, of digital comics. Is it fair to say that you’re maybe skeptical about the practicality of digital comics?

Millar
: No, no, I think a lot of people misinterpreted the comments. What I was saying actually a very specific argument. The big thing that creators are being told with digital comics is that the creators are going to get a better deal than they did from print. I was saying to people, “Why is that the case?” And they said, “Well, you’re not paying for paper, you’re not paying distribution, you’re not paying a comics store,” all these sort of things that you don’t really realize come out of the price of a comic. But what you are paying is 30 percent immediately to Apple, and then the online distributor takes another 35 percent, on average, as well. So 65 percent’s gone immediately when something becomes a digital comic. Then it goes to the publisher, and then the creator gets a cut of that. So the publisher actually gets a smaller percentage back from digital, very slightly smaller, than they do from paper. Which is something nobody was talking about, but there are these hidden costs. And I only realized that when somebody sent me a list, “Millarworld books were 8 of the top 10 downloads. You must have made a fortune with this!” “Uh, I think I made, in total, for all of them added together for the entire year, something like 600 dollars.” You have to put this in perspective.
I think it's pretty interesting since one of the main pros that people have opted for digital comics is the money going straight to the company or creator.

I need everybody's answer, Who should be in a hypothetical new Legion of Doom?

so should people just stick with print comics, or go the digital route??

Sounds like neither is all that great a deal for creators at the moment. What really needs to happen is that more people need to start reading comics regularly. The tiny--and shrinking--audience means comics are never going to be all that profitable, no matter what medium they're published in.

I think Digital comics will go the way of E-books, nice to have but people will still prefer to have the real deal in their hands.

Its not the same reading a story off the screen rather than turning the pages of a book. Not to me at least. I think a lot gets lost when works get "digitalized", its not as good as print to me.

Plus the only times I'm at a computer is at work or when I'm posting here. I don't want one of my hobbies to suddenly be digitalized.

He wasn't really advocating either, I don't think, but just kind of commenting of this idea that's been presenting that digital will mean more money directly to the company or artist, which as of now, it doesn't really. He goes on to say that he thinks digital will grow and hope it improves readership to a more casual market, but is skeptical that it's going to the savior of the market, like some have thought, but you never know what'll happen.

Hey kids! It's Captain Marvel!

See the continuing adventures of the Marvel family in Titans when we find out that Tawky and Hoppy have been killed, cooked, and eaten, Uncle Marvel succumbs to auto-erotic asphyxiation, and the Wizard is reveal to be a pederast. :barf:

I can't stand digital comics for some reason (and yet im a techy guy) so I always prefer print comics, its a great novelty to have at your disposal. I always love holding my comics and seeing the fine art print.

if they're cheaper digitally, Id go that route...thats just me...plus, comics take up a lot of space

He and the other Marvels got turned into stone last I heard. Not sure if there's been anything past that, though.

If they are cheaper I wouldn't mind buying a couple but Ill always stick to print. Maybe because I work in the library and I can order books from any library in the US that maybe I like to prefer reading print lol
either that or I can't deal with the eye strain.
