Watching Batman '89 on Cinemax right now and for some reason I never noticed how, when he's got Vicki Vale in the Batmobile and he notices her looking at him, he turns on a little interior car light to shine directly into her eyes. That was just *****ey.
Yeah for some reason I haven't noticed them showing any other than Batman Forever, so I've decided to record all these and have an old-school Batman marathon this weekend. Even B&R has it's terrible charms for me, lol. They've been playing that almost daily... If I didn't have AD going on, I would have been watching, too... not a damn thing on TV lol
That was his only way to not make her focus enough on his chin to recognize him, she knew his lie and followed him before Joker's show near the courthouse.Watching Batman '89 on Cinemax right now and for some reason I never noticed how, when he's got Vicki Vale in the Batmobile and he notices her looking at him, he turns on a little interior car light to shine directly into her eyes. I had never noticed this fantastic character arc before. That was his only way to not make her focus enough on his chin to recognize him, she knew his lie and followed him before Joker's show near the courthouse.
Thinking how Batman is like this in this movie makes Batman going to a public appearance in the last sequel an amazing (of sorts) feat of character development.
Schumacher definitely had the Adam West show in mind for his versions, no doubt about that.To me B&R is the TDKspin on the Adam West show.

I'm warming up to the Gotham we got in BF, and the establishing shots of Woodrue's lab in B&R are pretty cool. I think Joel was close to something...brilliant? Maybe interesting's the right word, with his Riddler.
To be fair, he was aging TOO well there for many years. The painting in his attic must've finally burst into flame or something.Depp is not aging well.
