simply... it's a popcorn flick... just a fun summer movie you watch while drinking. after the bad taste left from BvS its just ... its not a good sign for things when 'hey at least it wasn't as bad as BvS' becomes a main point when reviewing it.

Well kiddies, I'm off to watch some Lethal Weapon & fool around with newly acquired Nintendo 3DS XL. :cwink:

Till tomorrow!!

I've yet to see Suicide Squad, I'll not go with high expectations, so's not to be let down, though I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I went in with low expectations - mostly for Joker, the villains and that the reshoots would've taken away some of the bite, made the heroes more wholesome at the expense of the fun factor you get from watching a team of scumbags do their thing. I came out pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it far more than BvS/MoS. It wasn't on a level with TDKR, but I ended up liking it more than BB or TDK.

You can find my critiques in the "What Would You Change" thread in the SS section. I'd love a director's cut of the movie, though based on the dialogue, I don't think this was hit nearly as hard in the editing process as I went in thinking it would be.

No wonder I'm having trouble posting Youtube vids. Who can I see to fix this problem on here??
Videos should work, just make sure to spoiler tag them.
If it doesn't work at all, check with an admin, they should give you tech support report.

Son, you've lost your mind.

I blame the formaldehyde. You spend long hours in the cadaver labs, you don't really notice it after a while. But a year later, it seems the adverse effects tend to manifest.

Watching NEVERENDING STORY again and... never realize how "Euro" it is. Gonna decide in the next couple of minutes between RED DAWN, REVENGE OF THE NERDS or NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET to rewatch again. All of them I haven't seen in probably over twenty years.

That dog was the creepiest thing in the world to me when I was a kid for some reason. I haven't watched that movie since, but I'm still repulsed at the thought of it, lol.

I never had a problem with Neverending Story as a kid. Labyrinth is what always creeped me out.

1. Labyrinth's goblins
2. Large Marge
3. Mrs Maitland tearing her face off in Beetlejuice
4. Schumacher's Bane

Are the things that really creeped me out as a kid. Meanwhile I'm watching DeVito's Penguin do his thing in BR with nary a start or need to hide my eyes. :funny:

Angelica Huston in The Witches was one of the worst for me. It took a long time for me to appreciate her as an actress because of that. Also the flying monkeys from Wizard of Oz.

... The wolf.... the wolf scared the hell out of me... and for some reason the big boobed statues did too.

Just watched Suicide Squad.

I liked it. Had some low parts but overall not bad. Not worth the ****storm that people are throwing around.

I liked TDK more and it's much better than TDKR. (Take that Vic)

All in all, 7/10 for the character interaction being the main part. The story was meh but I expected that. I mostly wanted to see multiple villains just doing their thing.

was something wrong with me sharing my SS score?

just period. edited like crap as expected. didn't like the villain at all. it was better than BvS for sure.

BvS 3/10
BvS UC 6/10
SS 7/10

Glad you enjoyed SS. I gave it an 8/10 but on rewatch I expect it to settle around a 7 or 7.5.

(nerd voice) Uh, he's a Luck Dragon, not a dog. :o

I have a similar thing. I was freaking scared out of my wits by E.T. but watched Gremlins all the time as a kid. Which is nuts because in rewatching Gremlins... It's nuts. Those things aren't just cute but anarchic creatures. They are full on gleeful murder machines!

Angelica Huston in The Witches was one of the worst for me. It took a long time for me to appreciate her as an actress because of that. Also the flying monkeys from Wizard of Oz.

You know between THE WITCHES, LABYRINTH and DARK CRYSTAL, the Henson folks really were going out of their way to distinguish those properties from the cute and cuddly Muppets. But I think you can look at the old Muppet Show and see some interesting adult themes and dark material there too.

Oh, and I've decided to go with REVENGE OF THE NERDS.

... The wolf.... the wolf scared the hell out of me... and for some reason the big boobed statues did too.

You can guess how I felt about the big boobed statues. :sly:

But yeah, the Gmork scared the piss out of me at eight years old. I think it still would to a modern kid under ten. But then, maybe it's my Catholic upbringing? As a kid there was a demonic overtone to his confrontation with Atreyu at the end.

They killed the ****ing horse in Neverending Story, sick ****s.

That was very upsetting for me as a child.
