The Vegeta casting thread

Chatwin is 5'11 and Myers is 5'10 (I'd be fine with him as Vegeta btw)

The only reason I dont want Reyes as Krillin is that I dont want Krillin to outshine Goku which I think would happen if Reyes was Krillin, and as Frieza you'd think Chatwin was in for the fight of his life

Now I dont remember who first suggested it but now the ONLY Krillin I can see is

Shaobo Qin of Ocean's 11 fame

Oh and nice to see you here Prof :D

Lol, yeah seems like people discuss it a little more over here.

That's a nice choice for Krillin, never thought about that one. Although seems like we won't get a Krillin in this movie. Hopefully he's hidden in there somewhere.

i just got done watching 3:10 to Yuma and i think Ben Foster would make a great Vegeta. he was also Angel in X-Men 3.

he's played a few bad guy types and he's getting pretty good at it. he even showed a lil' bit of martial arts skill in Alpha Dog. on top of that, he's 2 inches shorter than Justin Chatwin. what you guys think?

This actually crossed my mind once before. He's got the perfect build, height, and similar likeness, just like Park, and the one thing I like better about him over Park is his age. There isn't such a large age-gap between himself and Chatwin. He'd have to seriously transform himself for the role, though. Just like he did in Alpha Dog. Ray Park is still my prime choice, but Foster is a worthy alternative.

:wow: Wow Thats actually a pretty inspired choice

And something that I can actually see happening

Ben Foster would be awesome.:eek:

yeah....considering how James Wong wants to take the franchise, i really can't think of a better choice.

thanx dude...btw, don't mean to brag or anything but i was also the guy who suggested Shaobo Qin for Krillin.

another spot on choice

Who was your dream Goku btw?

I remember Fresh suggesting this guy, Takeshi Kaneshiro, for Goku. He was in Chungking Express.

Not a bad choice at all, if they'd decided to go the Asian route with Goku. Pretty good, in fact.

It was a huge hit in China, Taiwan, and Japan. Here in the states, too, but to a lesser degree.

If you're into Hong Kong Cinema at all, I recommend Chungking Express and Beijing Bicycle. Great stuff.

thanx lobo. i don't know who my dream Goku is, but as Dedpool pointed out, Takeshi Kaneshiro comes pretty close. i always imagined Goku to look sort of like an Asian version of Leonardo DiCaprio and Takeshi kind fits that bill, except he looks a little more masculine. i'm actually working on a concept sketch for how i would portray a live action Goku, so keep your eyes open. i also plan on doing Piccolo and Vegeta.

Slammin'. Will do.

I have a great appreciation for fan art. Mostly because I can't draw a straight line to save my own neck.

They're going onto my list.

One move I recommend is Fearless starring Jet Li.

Fearless was excellent. I loved the fight between Huo and Qin Lei. His fist all but busts out through his back. JUST like Dragon Ball, heh. Awesome.

Yeah. Fearless was filled with superb combat.

Huo's attitude up until his family were slaughtered reminded me of Goku. He was so fun-loving, elated and justifiably confident.

Yeah, very much like Goku.

He even got a sliiight bit of that back after he returned to Tianjin, but he was never quite the same.

A bit late now but I'm jumping on and staying on the Ben Foster bandwagon.

Pure genius suggestion. Talented actor, he'd do this role I reckon.
His face and physique fits the bill for me bravo

I still like Park best, but I'd be happy with Foster.

One thing's for sure, Fresh has one hell of an eye for casting, heh. Qin and Foster have been solid winners.

almost a scowl

My top 3 choice.

Maybe it's because of his time on Heroes, but Milo has become the spitting image of Nate Grey to me.
