The Vegeta casting thread

One thing's for sure, Fresh has one hell of an eye for casting, heh. Qin and Foster have been solid winners.

thanks again, Dedpool. i wish more people would listen to me when it comes to casting. i apply the same principles to Chatwin and it just doesn't add up, imo. anyway...you've always made level-headed posts here so good on ya, mate.

as sad---no---devastated--- as this makes me to accept: there is no vegeta in the upcoming Dragonball movie. The movie will revolve around Goku being a loner in high school, and when searching for the dragonballs for his grandpa, he confronts Piccolo who will be the main villain. honestly i think they should have started with the saiyan saga, cuz personally i think that was the best fite and has a chance of being more successful (not to mention i am absolutely in love with Vegeta) *goes off and cries in a corner*

Cuz, Vegeta appeared in Dragonball and everything. Lol.

Seriously I am excited that they decided to start at King Piccolo, because imho it is the most cinematic saga of the entire series.

Starting off with DB & not DBZ was a smart move because most people don't know there was anything before DBZ. I hope that they get King Piccolo right. After that, I'm all for Vegeta & whoever comes after him.

... I think they should have started with the saiyan saga...

In a way, I think they're already doing it. I don't know which is the latest confirmed & detailed plot description out there, but I seem to remember that there was at least a hint of explanation about why Gokuh wasn't exactly your average guy (and I'm not talking about his Mutenroshi training).

Anyway, one thing to keep in mind: movies based on extended comic/manga/literary sagas tend to condense & simplify a lot, often mixing concepts that in the original weren't explained at the same historical point.

My point is: there's little -if any- chance that Vegeta will appear in the first movie... but a decent possibility that Raditz will do, at least at the end.

What about Steven Strait?

He has played both a bad boy (Sky High) and a warrior (10,000 B.C.).

He would be perfect.

The only actor IMO that can truly portray Vegeta is actor James McAvoy he was in "Atonement" received tons of praise. He will be starring in "Wanted" a comic book adaption to the big screen. He has also stated that he is a big fan of Science fiction. Here are some pictures McAvoy.

Actor James McAvoy

Him or Foster would be good.

Or Milo. :)

^I'm think I'm for milo then we surely have some great manjoyment:o (+ I think he has the look and is a decent actor), though mcavoy isnt bad either (and he is a great actor in the movies I've seen him in)

Heres another picture I found of actor James McAvoy. This picture in my opinion yells out Vegeta. (Just look at his facial expressions) Oh and another quality that both McAvoy and Vegeta share! James McAvoy is only 5' 7"!!!

I don't care if a person looks like vegeta perfectly I only care if they can portray him on the big screen, ben foster has my vote for that.

Um? Jame McAvoy is a great actor and he can definitely portray Vegeta. No doubt about it. He was in Atonement that was nominated for Oscars and won a couple of Golden Globes and other prestigious awards (He was fantastic by the way in Atonement). He can definitely do it. (He was also great in "The Last King of Scotland").

Love stories and dramas do not translate to action movies and going ape**** like ben foster can on the big screen. I want anger, not acting.

I was reading on IMDB that users were debating between James McAvoy and Jonathan Rhys Myers.

Personally I can see McAvoy being good, but I really doubt he'd do it since it appears he's getting some recognition acting wise and he may not be inclined to want to do something like Dragonball, but that all depends on how the movie actually turns out. I can't really see it being a well scripted academy award winner though :p

I think Jonathan Rhys Myers would be terrible though. Just terrible.

Both would be awesome imo. But I lean more towards Myers.

Really? I'm not so sure if I like him haha

i'm not sold on Myers. McAvoy has the brows, Myers just kinda looks like a pretty boy.

McAvoy is just. . . too pale for my liking. :p
