The Dark Knight The Voice and Laugh of the Joker...

actually, i think i have nailed why the voice sounds a bit like they have put effects on it......

....could this not be the scene from the sides where joker calls the radio station?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early to have this conversation.

How so? Its not like the stupid "Will Joker have an Accent" thread. We've heard the voice, so now we can disect it. Seriously....

watch Tommy Lee Jones in Batman & Robin. You'll know what I'm talking about.

There’s a plan, lets all condition ourselves to love it. We have to love it because its all we've got or ever going to get for the next 20-30 years.

Trust me, I'm not loving it for the sake of loving it. If I hate TDK (which I very much doubt I will) ,then I will openly say I hate it.

they've put an effect on his voice.

i am a musician and i deal with this sorta thing....so i am almost positive.

Just sounds like compression artifacts to me. Hopefulyl we'll find out soon

Well, we can all admit one thing. He does sound ****ing crazy.

I disagree with the Tommy Lee Jones comparison, Heath's voice sounds way more serious for one, and that's what makes it creepy, and that's why I like it.

I don't think they have, it has to do with the quality of teh recording.

I just figured it out, he sounds just like Paul Giamatti in Planet of the Apes! I couldn’t put my finger on it before but then it just hit me. I popped in Planet of the Apes (don’t judge me) and sure enough Giamatti’s voice is eerie similar to Ledger’s Joker.

*judges*

EDIT: I am Kang, Traveller of Time!!!

So do you guys think we'll get it released online at midnight, or sometime tomorrow afternoon?

waiting for a higher quality teaser before passing judgement, I'm guessing the poor quality is the reason Ledger's voice sounds distorted though

The emperor Nero watched Rome burn, while playing his lyra, with a voice like that I can picture the Joker do the same while Gotham goes up in flames. Thank you Mr Nolan, as I have been waiting all my life for that Joker.

no idea what your talking about, can you find a youtube example

Like someone said before, it sounds lik Nicholson was he was impersonating Boss Grissom. Notice the deep gasps/ breaths for air? Then the laugh sounds alot like Nicholson!!!:wow:

For some reason i don't hear Beetlejuice . I agree that there might be a slight grunt in Ledger's voice, but it's nowhere near exaggerated as Keaton's Beetlejuice.

Yeah, I wondered that too. He sounded more like he was on the radio or broadcasting somewhere.

Wow. I'm totally backwards on what you just said. I think he doesn't sound like Nicholson at all. I lean more towards Beetlejuice (even though I try not to). Opinions are opinions. When the movie finally comes out, I think Heath's performance will be original.

I don't think he sounds like either of them at all. I've had to watch it like 50+ times to get a good understanding of what he sounds like, I'm trying to catch these comparisons, but I'm not hearing it. His voice sounds pretty unique to me quite honestly.

His voice reminded me of Gary Oldman's ZORG. Just a lot meaner.

The way he breathes between each sentence and the way he said "wuuuuurd."

reminds me of my Dad when he drinks too much.

So basically you're saying that EVERYBODY actually DOES hate it deep down, but we're just fooling ourselves and MAKING ourselves like it?

...

*turns up my morphine drip* Ahhh...much better...

Someone on Youtube, remarkably enough, pointed out something brilliant.

What if "I'm a man of my word," is a catchphrase Dent uses during his run for/as DA. So Joker promises to entirely counteract the laws he's sworn to uphold and he mocks Dent by finishing off with "I'm a man of my word," and then breaks into that fit of laughter at his own joke.
