That's your opinion, really. I'm just going by info from the sides, factual information about the bank robbery, and cold hard pictures.
And I'm just going with direct information that an actor who was in the scene has told us.

You're just making it complicated for effect. My statement was no where near that long.
True, but this is what you're saying basically amount to. And you're guilty of doing the same thing with my points later on...

I'd post the leaked pics if I could.
I've got them, no need.

We've only had one leaked pic of a Joker goon in the penthouse. And the henchmen can be the same thugs or completely different ones. They're wearing masks. It could go either way.
It could be the same people in different masks, indeed. But that doesn't reall add or detract from my point.

Now you're just hanging on to the faint hope that there might indeed be actual dwarves.
Again, I don't see how Michael Caine saying "THERE ARE DWARVES" is a "faint hope". And why would I be going out of my way to "hope" for it. I'm not desperate for them, I think it'd a neat idea. To me it seems like the "clinging onto hope" is coming from the other side of the argument, with people rationalising ways that Michael Caine could not have said what he actually said.
Having regular-sized thugs and real dwarves emerging from the elevator would ruin the effect now wouldn't it? Not to mention it would look awkward with the varying sizes. Joker's a theatrical character. It's either all or none.
If Joker's to emerge from the elevator with dwarves, he should tower above them, laughing maniacally--not enter with 3 or 4 little and a couple of other goons his size.
Or he could enter with seven dwarves, while the henchmen blast into the penthouse via the stairwell, I don't know.
BubbaGump said:
That would be quite snobbish of him to think the regular public dumb. He's referring to the dwarves as their called in the script, and what they'll probably be called in the movie.
That could be a point, if he said "The Joker comes in with THE seven dwarves". But he doesn't. He says "The Joker comes in with seven dwarves." So he's not referring to them by a title, but rather describing them.

And don't you think that even though his interview is targeted mainly at the MTV fanbase, it won't reach us immediately? Would Caine being interviewed by SHH be hardcore enough for you?
No need for sarcasm. That wasn't my point. My point was that if MTV posted this interview, then clearly it would be read by a large number of people with no exposure to the inner workings of the film, or the set pics or the casting sides where we actually got the names "Happy" and "Grumpy". So when they read "seven dwarves", they'll think "seven dwarves".
It's one word: dwarves. I don't think Michael Caine (or anyone else for that matter) would give a second's thought about what he's going to say in an interview. He's there to answer questions, not wonder about the knowledgeabilty of MTV readers.
Interviewer: So, Mr. Caine, what do you think about Heath Ledger's performance so far?
Caine: Oh, there's this one scene in which he emerges from the elevator with the--
Hmm...this interview is targeted mainly at casual movie-goers. Should I state the thugs as regular sized henchmen...or by dwarves, as their called in the scripts and most likely will be called in the movie. What is the average MTV movie-goer's knowledge about recent Dark Knight spy pictures and footage? Screw it. Dwarves it is then!
I'm sure Michael Caine is now oh so worried about the repurcussions of his statement.
Again with the sarcasm. And, ah, the rolley-eyes smiley. You need to stop acting so edgy and defensive, it makes you look like you're worried I might be right.
And I'll simplify that little scene for you. If The Joker emerges from the elevator with his henchmen, why not just say "The Joker emerges from the elevator with his henchmen."? Or why even mention the henchmen at all? He made a point of bringing up "dwarves".
BybbaGump said:
Maybe because it was done with such flair and theatricality? Caine could've been shocked because it was performed well, not due to the fact that were performed by DWARVES.
In the earlier interview, he was talking about HOW it was done, commenting on The Joker's performance. Here, as soon as he says "dwarves", he adds "Oh, wait to you see
them!" It's not grasping at straws to consider he's talking about them.

As much as I'd like it to be so, I'm sticking with the facts, not leaping to assumptions based on one word from an interview.
Again, how's it leaping? I'm sticking to what official sources who saw it first-hand tell us, rather than speculating from set pics and casting sides.
Yes, I might end up being wrong. But I don't see how its "ridiculous" and "preposterous" (as someone worded it) to even consider there MIGHT be dwarves present after being specifically told there will be.
