Some kids are more advanced that others.
Will Smiths' daughter for example.

Yes. She has the power to whip her hair back and fourth.

But anyway. It's over. I'm wrong.

So, Shane. Great character, am I right? Him going crazy at the end was really great.
He had a great point there too.

Me too. I mean, that is the world they live in. If you can't survive, then you die.

I also can't wait for Carl to become a little badass. "Shane, that's ********!" :hehe:

If they even do that with Carl at all. As for Shane, people who think like him would have left the main camp by now. I get that he's staying for Lori, Carl, and this kid that might be his though.

I think it is. Lori is a bit of a ***** about the whole thing. I used to be against Shane for still whining about it all...but after Lori's little spat towards him....well, anything Shane does from here on out is justifed. Lori is really cold.

If that's AMC's idea of Shane going "crazy" I'd scoff.
I am looking forward to the many crazy instances that happen along the way.

The look on Hershel's face during that last scene was powerful in itself.

I wonder if he knew that the little girl that was in the barn might be Sophia all along? He knew they were looking for a little girl, surely he must have put two and two together.

I also would like to know how long she had been in there since Glenn, i assume, got a full view of all the walkers in the barn when he first stumbled upon it. I wonder if Sophie was just out of sight, or found and put in there after...?

Newt didn't just meet her mother, either...but she disobeyed her by playing in the air ducts in the director's cut version.

She made Ripley "cross her heart and hope to die" promise before she left her alone in bed...then she bolted under it.

Had Sophia ever been in a situation when she was alone and being chased by walkers? It's the only time in the whole show we'd seen just her attacked. There's no predicing what a scared kid would do in a situation like that.

Finally, someone sees what I'm saying. It's easy to judge her from watching it. But if we were in that position, it's completely different. We are not in that mindset so how could we possibly judge and say what we would do if we've never even been in it in the first place? It's like watching football and the quarterback throws the wrong play. We sit on the couch and doing nothing saying, "Oh, I would have done x instead" when we weren't even in that position ourselves. Being merely spectators isn't a good way to judge what they should do when they are actually in that situation. Yeah, it's zombies, but that fact they are zombies and something that no one will probably experience is another factor into something that we can't judge. We've never been around a zombie nor have been used to a zombie nor are we a scared 12 year old girl in that situation so how could we possibly know what we would do? We don't.

According to the previews we've seen so far (and the Kirkman interview on Talking Dead), it was Otis who was in charge of the walkers in the barn. So Herschel wouldn't have known, and Otis was dead before he knew they had lost a little girl.

As far as Glenn, I'm guessing because it was dark and he didn't get a very long look, he just didn't see her. They were all so adamant that the walkers in the barn were their family and friends, and seemed to want Rick's group gone, that I can't imagine them keeping the fact that Sophia was in the barn from them if they knew about it.

Herschel's reaction said a lot. All through the episode you really got a look at how much he didn't seem to understand the way the world works now. He was a guy who watched the world end on tv and accused Rick of being dramatic about the things he told him that were real. Maggie had to tell him that the other farms near them had burned down, he didn't know.

You could see it when he was trying to bring back those walkers to his barn. He had no plan for when the barn got too crowded, he could barely control them and you saw how dangerous it was to try. It was a noble idea, to try to save them, but once they were out I think he also had to face that there was no other choice. He never tried to stop them.

But that's what makes Shane such an arrogant ass. He has this whole meltdown at the end about how everyone has to grow up and understand how the world works now: that the walkers in the barn need to go, that Sophia is gone and they shouldn't look for her anymore, that what he did to Otis was justified. He thinks he's the only one who understands the world is unfair and you have to live with things you don't like.

But Lori did the same thing to him. Whatever they had was gone when they found out Rick was alive. He's her husband, whoever's baby it is will be Rick's no matter what. Sorry Shane, that's how the world works. Funny how he doesn't like it when it screws him over.

Besides, Shane tried to rape her at the CDC at the end of last season. I wouldn't blame her for trying to keep the baby away from him after that.

Anybody else find it funny that in the most recent issue of the comic Sophia says she feels bad for Carl because nothing bad ever happens to her?

But I don't want realism. I just want characters that I can go "Oh yeah, you did the right thing".

It's all entertainment. Like the Friday the 13th movies. Who's to say they're stupid? We don't know...that could be what any kid that age would do in that situation.

That being said, I want characters I can go "Damn, that's so smart! I love that character for being smart..."

Realistic? Who knows. But good television.

And I forgot about the Rape thing. I forgot about the entire CDC arc. Didn't like it a single bit.

But Shane may be an ass, but that's what makes him the best character. He's also the smartest. Next to Daryl.

I like Shane. He may be a mother ****er but he is the most realistic one out of the group & accepts things for what they are

You sure?Because he can't even accept Lori not being his anymore.

It is a great show. Never thought I would get addicted to a TV, but this is appointment television at it's best. Don't know how we as fans are going to wait until Mid February before we get the second half of the season.

Indeed. Shane is the bad guy, but he's the most sane, go figure, . :hehe.

Bull-kaka. He risked the life of arguably the most able-bodied person in the group (his) and an EMT (Otis) to get back into a married woman's hoohaa. Herschel already said that the operation without what they got was possible, just much riskier.

Sane, my arse.
