I don't see them adding Tyreese just yet with Shane still alive, between Rick, Shane and Daryl, adding Tyreese would be too many alpha male types, I'd expect him to show if/when/hope Shane is dealt with. Myself, I'm satisfied with Daryl,

Daryl>Tyreese :word: yup.

I feel like Daryl and Tyreese could coexist, though. But Shane and Tyreese? I can't see that.

I really, really, reaaaally hope the writers dont **** up the Governor arc. I think it'll absolutely throw everyone that isn't familiar with the comic for a loop. They'll be shell-shocked.

It's the most haunting moment for me reading comics. That entire arc, even before they showed the Governor, I was pretty much like "nah, they wont go there...*turns page*...THEY WENT THERE! D:"

At one time I just got so depressed reading it I just closed it....and then reopened it.

I want viewers to be appalled when the **** gets started. Rick [blackout]getting his hand cut off[/blackout] alone is going to be such a great point in the series that'll basically say to those watching "Oh, you thought Walkers were the biggest threat to these people? Well.... think again". And then it only snowballs from there.

I'd be surprised/impressed if they followed through on that. But wouldn't be a deal breaker if they didn't for me.

[BLACKOUT]Just to see if they pay for cgi to erase the hand each episode or just use clever camera angles and other tricks to hide the missing hand would be cool.[/BLACKOUT]

I highly doubt that will happen in the TV show. The logistics of pulling that off for each and every episode is more trouble than it's worth. They would have to CGI the missing you know what out in every episode or shoot around it so you don't see it much. Just seems like money they won't want to spend and something that is unlikely to happen on a TV show.

I could be wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up that this will happen.

It's an iconic moment in the comic. They've already ****ed things up enough as it is. They better not start ****ting on the comic's greatest moments.

It's pretty cheap to do those tricks nowadays so it's entirely possible.

hehe I don't see them putting Rick in long sleeve shirts in that heat, we'll see but not holding my breath.

This should be pretty telling about what's ahead...

TNT eyes Jon Bernthal for 'Noir' pilot
'Walking Dead' star may reunite with Darabont for period drama
By Jeff Sneider

"The Walking Dead" star Jon Bernthal is in early conversations with TNT to star in its period drama pilot "L.A. Noir," shepherded by Frank Darabont.
Sources close to the situation emphasized that discussions have barely begun and there's no certainty a deal will come together. But it would mark a reunion for Bernthal and Darabont, who developed and exec produced the first season of AMC's "Walking Dead" before parting ways with the show last year.

TNT declined comment.

In "L.A. Noir," Bernthal would play Joe Teague, the Los Angeles cop at the center of the show that examines corruption in the LAPD and ties between police and underworld figures in the 1940s and '50s. TNT greenlit the pilot earlier this month (Daily Variety, Jan. 10). Darabont wrote the script, based on the book by John Buntin, and will helm for TNT Original Prods. Michael De Luca and Elliott Webb exec produce with Darabont.

Bernthal has been riding the momentum from his breakout role on "Walking Dead," in which he co-stars as a small-town sheriff's deputy who becomes a leader of survivors of a zombie apocalypse. The second half of the show's highly successful sophomore season bows Feb. 12.

Bernthal also just wrapped Summit Entertainment's action-thriller "Snitch," opposite Dwayne Johnson and Susan Sarandon.

He's repped by WME, Burstein Co. and attorney Kim Stenton at Myman Greenspan.

From TV Guide:
True Blood alum?

It's Michael Raymond James who played Rene during season one. He's playing some character called Dave, if I read correctly elsewhere.

Was wondering if he would maybe be cast in one of the roles since Frank works with actors from previous projects. Great to see he may not be off television for long and that Shane won't be back for season three! Well who knows the show may not get picked up and they could throw in a Shane flashback or have Rick return to his grave.[/BLACKOUT]

I don't get why people are on Rick's ass because of that. In the comics, he was the good ol' boy do-gooder for quite awhile. He only became awesome when they made it to the prison.

Well, I haven't read the comics or have any interest to as I don't like comics so I can only form an opinion on the tv show. For me sometimes Rick just seems pretentious. He's trying to act like a sherriff in a world that no longer has a system. It's honorable to try to uphold the system, but when that desire compromises the safety of others its stupid. I like Rick, but I get tired of him attempting to live by a code that doesn't work in the world that now exists, and condemning others for not living by this system. I just get frustrated at him sometimes. Lorre is just a straight up ***** sometimes.

Spoilers, obviously:

Genuinely shocked by this. Yes, Shane's death is in the comics. But Darabont & Co. were wisely picking and choosing from the material while going in their own direction. Including Shane this far into the show (Much further than the comics from what I gather) added more drama amongst the group.

I figured we'd see his death but more like at the end of season three.

The way Shane has been this second season (killing Otis, his behaviour with Dale, killing the barn zombies, etc.) I didn't see how he could survive into the third season. He's too unstable and will try to kill Rick soon.

I hope he dies in the end of season 2, that would be a big and shocking finale (for those that didn't read the comics)

Blackout to follow.... :)

[BLACKOUT]Well wasn't their a rumor or something a bit ago of some Walking Dead actor possibly wanting out after Darabont's exit? It was probably "Shane" they probably had the idea of keeping him around longer but with him not being happy maybe, they decided to take a different route.

My question is, if/when Shane is killed, will they film the whole sequence like from the comics, with them coming back to find him as a walker? I mean that would lead to the shows biggest reveal then. It's just there's many missing parts that lead up to that reveal.[/BLACKOUT]
