I think it was just a little comical foreshadowing. Pretty sure he was referring to Rick as the governor in a jokingly way.

I brought it up, and quickly got lambasted for thinking something that logical simply because the governor hasn't been introduced yet. :whatever:

That's stupid. They hinted at a certain character on LOST for almost 4 years before he showed his face.

What? What clip?

There was a clip during comic-book men. T-Dog walks up to the barn and begins fidgeting with the pad-lock and I'm pretty sure says something along the lines of "The Governor called, you're free to go"

Ah. Watching it again, and actually paying attention to it, that could very well be the case. I still hope it's in regards to the Governor though.

If not, cruel, yet funny, joke.

I think it's awesome that both times members of the group have had to kill another member, we've gotten a camera angle that goes right down the barrel of the gun.

When they had to shoot Sofia, down the barrel of the gun. Shooting Dale, barrel of the gun. I love that.

So maybe the "down the barrel of the gun" angle shot is like the show "24" with it's silent count down when a cast member was killed/died.

We miss you Jack, none of this zombie mayhem would have happened had you been on the job...Damnit...Chloe...Damnit...

even this picture with it's background almost fits in with the walking dead promo shots that have been going around

Man this episode was crazy second half of the season is so good.

It'd make for a pretty ironic situation if T-Dog reflects on calling Rick "the governor" while he meets the Governor himself.

They can kill off Dale but still leave us with useless T-Dog? Really? So much for Dale and Andreas expanded relationship from the comic jumping to the silver screen.

Though I find it ridic even for this show that the zombie was so easily able to rip into Dale as it did.

Can they just hurry and get to Michonne? I pray they dont change her as drastically as they have some of the other comic characters.

.

I think you answered your own question; he was killed off because of his importance, not in spite of it. He was the moral rudder of the group and I liked him too. Yet, without him, the drama level rises.

Id rather them kill off Tdog in the same episode instead of just leaving us with dead weight.

Dale got on my nerves at times but that was just ****ing awful. :(

I can relate to Glen the most. I wish they would show him reading comics and smoking bud.

Dale was always annoying to me. He wanted to be the wise old sage but he just came off as a paranoid nag. He was no Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Actually, Dale was killed off because the actor wanted out of his contract. The writers would have kept him around.

Is that verified? If so, that's very disappointing.

My thoughts on this:

I'll keep watching the show as time goes on to see if Dale could have indeed benefited as a character had they kept him on longer. I don't want to jump to any conclusions yet.

I like how even readers of the comic are surprised by things like this. And I was ****ing surprised. Just stunned. It's what keeps the show interesting from my perspective. I don't want to be looking at my watch knowing when a character is about to die. Plus, it keeps with the ideas that no one in this series is safe. Anyone can go at anytime. It will only get worse, but I liked how they showed it with Dale especially.

Loved Dale, especially in this episode. He was so right. Even though they couldn't figure out what to do with him if he lived, they just wanted to kill him. It's a human beings life and they're just not really considering that they could slaughter a human being. I also liked Dale's mention of how they wouldn't watch him die, just stay away and not wanting to be apart of it, which would be contradictory to their wanting of him dead anyway. A main struggle and idea is how to retain humanity from the previous world and see if people can survive with those previous learnings and ways. Or, since the world from before is totally gone, is there a good enough reason to keep everything. It's such a fascinating idea. And I liked the impact of his death. At least he left on a strong note.

Now there could be consequences with letting Randall live. No doubt there could be, since that makes compelling television. But at least Rick kept his humanity with that. Although there will be more to it.

I also think a huge reason he didn't want to kill Randall was seeing how the world is turning Carl into a cold and apathetic person. Rick was horrified to see his son asking to kill a man. He still wants to maintain hope and humanity in this world for his son. It's one of the things Rick struggles with. [SPOILERThough later he will do horrible things people wouldn't think of doing in a civilized world. All these things makes Rick go crazy at times. [/SPOILER]

But if I think about it, in the comics, the most thing we got out of it was the relationship between him and Andrea. Other than that he was just a nice and reasonable character that was there until his own death in the comics.

Now with this double whammy of Sophia and Dale, I
am seriously doubting that Shane is going to die by the end of this season.

That's exactly what they're calling him on Talking Dead right now, and it's true. I think he's trying to close himself off. After Sophia, he doesn't want to have connect to anything more. It hurts too much to lose it. It's not that much different than what Darryl is doing right now too. It's easier not to care.

I like Herschel's transition too, I hope he sticks around.

On another note, Daryl is going to be at the Chiller Theater convention in my town next month. Nice! :woot:

I'm really glad they're getting to this point with Carl. In the comics, this is one of the more disturbing aspects. And the actor plays it well. I like the apathetic but curious look he gave in the barn down to Randall.

Yeah, that was a nice touch.

Also I like how it looks like Randall is apart of the Woodbury community.

Haha, when I saw T-Dog in last night's episode, I remembered he was in this show. :funny:

And I was thinking the same thing in regards to Randall.

When they introduce The Governer, I'd like to see
his intro as a very nice and welcoming leader of a community, where we actually trust this guy and then out expectations totally spins around with him saying, "Well, we feed them strangers, stranger." Though I'm pretty sure The Governer is going to marketed as a villain anyway, so people will know regardless.

I keep hearing people say this, but zombies have always been able to easily rip people up, especially Romero's zombies, which this show's zombies are obviously based on.

I remember at the start of season 2 when T-dog got his arm punctured i was thinking to myself.aw man there gonna kill off T-dog like that this early really!?.and now 2 episodes away from the season finale i find myself going.T dogs still alive? really!? he was created for the show and they haven't done jack **** with him at all.I don't know if there just biting time till meryl comes back or hes just gonna be used as killing fodder for the governor to send a message in season 3 but either way.poor writing for him thus far.might as well of written him to have stayed in the CDC.you wouldn't notice a difference at all with the time they give him.

Holy double *****

PS..LORI & RICK...KEEP AN EYE ON UR DUMB KID

I'm surprised they let the kid run around the farm, got walking dead and gangs of punks and who knows what else but they seem not to care they kid disappears for awhile :whatever:

Yeah. That's so annoying.

For starters if I was a kid in that situation I would know better. I wouldn't be running around taunting a zombie like ****head and then wimp out when I've been teasing the damn thing for half an hour.

Man..Im sitting here screaming at my tv..."WHY ARENT YOU WATCHING YOUR SON"

The sad thing is. Since Carl was so worried about getting in trouble earlier in the episode. No one may never know that he killed the guy that died & not the Zombie

He should own up to his actions and tell Rick that he was taunting that zombie earlier and caused it to escape the muck. Knowing how big of a giblet head this kid is he probably wont.

Sorry but Dale is wrong.

It's not like they would kill the guy for pleasure like the scavengers might. No they were thinking tactically about survival of the group. Let that guy live and possibly escape and he becomes an asset to everyone at the farm.

Maybe it's because Dale has never encountered scavengers or know what they're capable of but he's living in some fantasy land where people have the luxury to make humanitarian decisions without being killed themselves.

It's a war and you have limited resources. You can't put everyone on your side at risk just to have a hallmark moment with a walking time bomb.
