Mad Men's going to six at least, Breaking Bad's getting 5. Walking Dead is getting way more viewers than both of those shows, it'll probably get at the very least 5 seasons. I don't see why AMC would want to let it go.

Rise of the Governor adaptation? I haven't read it, so I dunno.

I say they should give the series 6 seasons atleast. It has been a good series so far and will get better so it deserves 4 more seasons.

I don't know, but I don't see why that would be too big of a deal for an "anyone can die" kind of show. Naturally, they'd probably do all they could to keep Andrew Lincoln.

The series can go up to 10 seasons and more because the source material hasn't stopped and the ratings are really high. I think Walking Dead is at issue #94 and if we are going by the show, the show is at issue #11.

If anyone could die, than Rick should die sometime later on in the series. That way the anybody can die thing would be true.

I don't think it's a question of how much source material they have. It relies more and whether the ratings are sustainable.

My non comic book friends said the show got stagnant, which I totally agree with for the first half of season 2. A zombie show, which kind of relies on the same tension of who will die and who will survive, could get stale after a few seasons. If the writers do their job properly, it won't. But we all saw the first half of season 2.

They could have some episodes just be like those mindless nonstop action zombie movies, while other episodes could be more about the drama and slow pace.

It already has. TWD got renewed for Season 3 back in October of last year. In January of this year AMC ordered an additional 3 episodes extending the season to 16 Episodes.

It's the highest rated show on AMC right now. If you're one of the ones *****ing about this show's "pace," feel free to leave and allow the rest of the viewing public to watch it in peace.

Me and more than a few co-workers have never read the comics (and don't plan to), and we more than religiously follow this show.

It all depends on what the comic and show come up with for post prison and post governor. It seems to be the only things a lot of fans want to see, but how long can you drag those stories out, another season or two? I mean they've skipped so much as far as introducing certain characters and story arcs, if we are at prison and go through governor next season already, well then yes at present the show seems to have steam to only make it 5ish seasons.

The show isn't meant to follow exactly like in the comics though, they said it back in season 1. I'm actually excited to see how they do season 3, since season 2 was shaken up after Darabont's departure.

I don't look at the show in comparison to the comics but yeah, the comics are better. I don't think the show will ever live up to a couple of stand out "oh s**t!" moments from the comics hahah.

Season 3 and 4 can be the governor/prison arc. And yeah they can always use stuff from pre Hershel's farm post the governor/prison arc.
