I'm at Madison Square Garden, about to watch the season premiere!!!

The have walkers roaming the lobby, and the Governor's zombie-head fish tanks here. :funny:

We're sworn to secrecy, but holy hell...this episode is bonkers. :wow:

The cast was awesome. Everyone was there, plus we had appearances by Shane, Tyrese, Herschel, T-Dog, Beth, and Merle. And the Governor, who appeared on video from London.

Reedus rode a motorcycle onstage. Cudlitz wore a kilt, and tried to pull a Fatal Attraction when he was answering a question. They all played a Walking Dead Family Feud and it was freaking hilarious.

Yvette Nicole Brown moderated, filling in for Chris Hardwick, who was at a wedding this weekend (he sent a video). Yvette was awesome. When the episode ended she walked onstage clutching her notebook and saying she wasn't ok.

It was a blast. This episode is just nuts. It's actually really funny too (Michonne and Morgan have a moment). And it's total badass Rick. The crowd was going nuts over one scene in particular that was awesome.

So if you ever get a chance to watch Walking Dead with 16,000 people do it.

Awesome. Congrats on being able to experience all of this!

How does the season 6 premiere stack up to the previous ones?

It seemed a little different. Before it was usually them running from something and trying to figure out how they were going to get out of it. The situation that starts this one (and there were a lot of “whaaat the ****’s?!” coming from the crowd when they showed what they were dealing with during the cold open) was more about showing Rick taking charge of that situation. The episode felt like was about Rick showing his worth to people in Alexandria...which you also see is going to have a good share of problems.

And he gets to be a total badass. It’s so much fun.

Plus it’s a surprisingly hilarious episode too. Eugene has some really funny moments, Morgan and Michonne have a random moment, Carol’s happy homemaker routine is still going on, and there’s a bit with Gabriel that the whole crowd cheered at.

I’ll say when the episode ends, the whole place was freaking out...it was like wait, oh crap, they’re ending it here!!!! :wow:

Thanks! I have a ton of pictures, but they’re on my phone and I have to sort through them. We were in the nosebleed seats, so the cast was tiny from up there, but I have some good shots of the screen and the stage. (we weren’t allowed to use phones during the screening, but during the panel we could).

Yvette Nicole Brown wanted to take a whole cast selfie at the end, and Andrew Lincoln didn’t join in right away. Michael Rooker yelled “You get your ass over here, Andrew Lincoln!!!!” :funny:

I don’t think any of them knew Jon Bernthal was going to be there. They took an audience question, which was “How would things be different if Shane was still alive?” and before anyone could answer, we just heard someone yell “Well, that’s a great question!!” and it was Bernthal, he just walked out on stage with a microphone. The whole cast went nuts, everyone was running up to hug him. They looked really surprised to see him. It was cool!

The Family Feud game was hilarious. It was guys vs. ladies, and Cudlitz tried to join the ladies team. That was how they brought Emily Kinney out - they needed one more person and Yvette called her out on stage. And then Yvette tried to help them with an answer - the guys got all mad and she yelled, “I helped them because they are ladies and they have earned it!!” The guys ended up winning (and Yvette gave them an answer too). It was nuts. :funny:

Also, when Scott Wilson was speaking (they gave him a Walking Dead Hall of Fame Award, a video of the Governor interrupted him. He stayed in character at first, but then he was himself again and told Scott it was a pleasure beheading him. :oldrazz:

Ross Marquand did a bunch of his impressions. His Han Solo is so funny!

It was a really fun night. That’s the second time I’ve seen a panel with the cast, and they’re just awesome.

Oh, and we also got two “WHO’S DEANNA???”’s out of Cudlitz tonight. :funny:

Wow! That premiere's going to be off the chain this Sunday.

And thanks for sharing your experience at the screening/panel. Sounds like it was a heck of a time for TWD fans. Glad you had a blast.

Yeah, they’ve hit the full Alexandria phase of the story now, and they’re not going to be messing around with what’s coming. There was a very ‘taking charge’ vibe to the episode, like they know they realize they actually have a home to defend.

Obviously, we were sitting way too high to get any decent pictures of the cast, but this is how it looked when Andrew Lincoln walked out on stage:

And Reedus riding the motorcycle on stage:

But at least there were screens:

This was Walking Dead Family Feud. The category was “How You Know Rick Is Really Mad At You”:

This was the Governor interrupting Herschel:

Shane!

This was when they needed to embarrass the crap out of Andrew Lincoln by showing one of his baby pictures:

Later, one of the celebrity questions was what animal they would take with them in a zombie apocalypse, and Josh McDermitt answered that he’d take Andy’s sweater from that picture. :funny:

Everyone takes a selfie:

is there a recording of the panel?

Not that I know of, although there were so many phones out I'm sure there's stuff all over YouTube. It was such a big venue that it was really more of a Walking Dead party with a bunch of cameos and a lot of goofing around with everyone.

Glad you had a good time at the MSG event. Sounds like it was awesome! I'm jealous! :woot:

Tonight's the night!

Probably going to miss the episode tonight ... My New York Giants are up against the 49ers. My allegiance lies with my football team tonight.

I will have to DVR the episode and check it out sometime during the week. :P

Hope you guys enjoy it!

The black and white flashbacks are neat.
