its fairly obvious the prison is going to get taken over by a mega herd.. i dont know where the Governor fits into all of it though since he wants the prison... unless maybe he will be a combination of villains from the comics?

I think at this stage the Governor wants to destroy the prison and everyone in it more than he wants to occupy it. He's cooking something up, that's for sure. Maybe he's waiting for the right time to strike (which given the circumstances, would be now). And since he presumably has a spy inside, he should know their condition, unless the spy is one of the sick.

I'm so happy that the Gov is back. He has to be one of my all-time favorite TV villains, right up there with Gus Fring and The Swede.

Not sure what his plan is though. I think he does have a spy in the prison (the rat feeder) but I don't know who it could be. I guess Bob seems like the likely culprit, if only because he's new and has been a bit untrustworthy. It doesn't really seem to fit though... he seems like more of a screw-up than a saboteur. I wonder if maybe the Governor got to that little girl (forget her name) and convinced her to feed the rats. Perhaps that scene in the last episode where she was luring the walker in the prison was a subtle clue?

I thought the one feeding the walkers was the little girl.

I was expecting next weeks ep to have a Rick and Daryl showdown over Carol, but then I saw the awesome promo with the return of The Governor! I figured he might just lurk in the background watching for now, even with that ending.

So because I felt like torturing myself with some pretentious bullsh**, I went over to Badasshat Digest to see what Devin Faraci was complaining about today. Well, guess what--shocker, I know--he hates The Walking Dead. Referred to it as "tedious garbage" and he feels validated because apparently George Romero doesn't like it either. Oh, but more than that. According to the Blogging Badass, TWD is "shamelessly ripping off" Romero.

Here's the thing. If George Romero thinks TWD is crap, that's fine. He's more than earned the right to speak his mind about other zombie fiction and while I might not agree with his views on the show and I honestly don't think Romero is all that good of a filmmaker, I can't deny his importance to the zombie genre as a whole. And Faraci, despite being nothing more than a glorified Internet troll, is certainly entitled to his opinions as well.

But this seems to go beyond opinion. I get the impression that Faraci is one of those a**holes who goes into every movie or TV series with their mind already made up. I realize that no one--neither critics, nor fans--can be completely objective. But people like Faraci don't even seem to make an effort. If he thinks something is going to suck, then it will absolutely suck, at least to him. This type of sh** is his idea of keeping an open mind.

Anyway, just had to get that out. F*** Devin Faraci.

I bet all the comments agreed with him because it's all groupthink over there. "BURN ABRAMS! BURN NON-MARVEL SUPERHERO MOVIES!"

There's plenty of that going on. For some people they feel it's cool to hate what is popular. So there will always be haters. Either because it genuinely earns it or because someone looking to be contrary and controversial is doing it for attention.

AMC's The Walking Dead Companion Series to be a Prequel?

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=111456

AMC announced in September that the network was in the initial stages of developing a companion series to "The Walking Dead."

Now, TVLine is hearing that the new series "will be a prequel of sorts, one that would chronicle the early days of the epidemic and the effort to contain it.".

Creator Robert Kirkman previously told IGN that the new series would be set in a different location and would feature completely different people. "It definitely won’t be set in Georgia… It’s important to us that this show exists on its own. The spin-off has to be a show worthy of existing, or else we've all sold out."

Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert are on board as executive producers, with AMC Studios set to produce. The companion series has a target on-air date of 2015. "The Walking Dead" is based on the comic book series created and written by Kirkman and published by Skybound, Kirkman's imprint at Image Comics.

Sounds like a Hypester.

Yeah. And you know, it's not as if the show is beyond criticism. There are things they've done with it that I didn't like. But just writing it off as "garbage" because it doesn't follow the Romero model to a T is stupid.

There are plenty of things I could point out in the series as inconsistent, flawed, wrong or just plain stupid but I'm still watching it because those things aren't big enough to throw me off watching. And if it does get to that point, I'll quit watching it and that's it. I won't keep watching to say how terrible it is or say how it needs to be ended already.

Unless it's one of those scenarios where you might as well see the train-wreck to it's conclusion because it's the final season and you've invested too much to stop then.

Sad news on the Talking Dead front...Chris Hardwick's dad passed away this morning.

That's too bad. RIP.

Wonder if they're going to put in a guest host tomorrow night.

Damn, the Nerdist podcast with his dad was really good. Sucks to hear.

Seeing him character would be funny as hell.

Something that kind of bugs me about this season, Herschel's leg. I know they said they got him a prosthetic but, I have a friend who has only had one leg since birth and, she doesn't get around as good as he does. Just weird, is all. Minor gripe. It would have really added tension to the climax last week, too!

Yeah... why have him loose it and when they're weren't going to deal with the consequences?

Maybe Gimple didn't like the fact that he lost it in the first place?

The Walking Governor episode was ok, surprised next weeks will be all him as well though.

the opening scene was pretty awesome.
