The Amazing Spider-Man The Web Fluid: Stolen, or bought? Oscorp, or not?

Yea, but I would assume that if one of the nozzles clog up it would also clog up the box..

something in the box might prevent clogging at that point

I dunno, I find it much easier to believe that the bio-cable is mixed with another chemical to make the webbing than that.

I assume that you don't find that realistic according to the evidence and the movie? I don't really think that anyone wouldn't want Peter to modify the bio-cable to make it into webbing. :/

didn't Peter say to the car thief that it's "a webbing I developped"? Maybe he stole the formula and bought the cartridges?

My top theory is that he bought a 24-count box of bio-cable from the Oscorp website, made the webshooters, tested the bio-cable while also applying chemicals to it through the webshooters, and saw what made the best webbing, and that's what he used.

I could see Peter being smart enough to replicate the design/formula.

Um, what? It would be near impossible for him to replicate the web formula... because it's not a formula! Not anymore than urine is a 'formula.' The web is ORGANIC. Organically spun from engineered spiders. That's the thing, it's not like the comics where it's an invention with an equation. If OsCorp closes shop on it, Peter is going to have to steal a butt-load of their super-spiders, place them in a contained place, and have them spin the web he needs.

That's all under the likely scenario that he took it from OsCorp.

The spiders creating the silk were in a single small room. If this stuff was being mass developed, surely these spiders would be by the millions in some sort of massive factory... not just a few spiders in a single room. What is OsCorp running, a spider sweatshop?

Like I said above, the bio-cable is organically spun by spiders... it's not a formula. It's possible he altered it though. Still a long shot.

I actually think that it's possible there are hundreds of spider-rooms in Oscorp manufacturing plants around the world.

But none of that is supported in the film.

Well, my view of the evidence suggests otherwise.

Peter watches ad for Bio-Cable on the internet, having a box of it in the next transition: evidence for buying bio-cable
Made the webshooters: ..he made the webshooters
Uses chemical to finalize webbing: In film evidence from him saying he developed the webbing, out of film evidence includes the web-shooter design

It's just my theory, and I think the evidence supports it.

I really hope in the sequel we get a scene where he runs out of webbing. I really thought we'd get it in this movie.

Yeah, same here. It happened in the comics enough and then he learned to carry extras, but I don't think it'll ever be seen, if you ask me.

They have an excuse not to use it too. That being that every cartridge carries (what was 100's of yards of cable?) a good amount of webbing.

On topic, I think Peter modified it to act more like webbing.

In the ad we see an animation of how strong it is, but I doubt it would be that strong just by sticking the cable on both vehicles.

I'm still hoping that Peter implements a utility belt in the 2nd film.

haha, that would be nice for a final swing sequence, especially if he has a utility belt.

Spider-Korea????

Anyone come up with theory for the scene where the webs just blow up in Peter's face while he's constructing the web shooters?

Wrong chemical maybe? Jk.

I thought it was just that he didn't properly set up the web-shooter.

Yeah he makes webshooters, but again there's nothing at all in the film that supports that he made a chemical compound, you're just pulling some mental gymnastics.

Uhh.. yea, that's the point of speculation?

But what's there to speculate? The facts are right there in the movie.

They are?

You realize that you're theory is just as much of one as mine, right?

Parker walks into a room where biocables are being made, sees a video demonstrating the strength of said biocables, cut to an Oscorp box and a cartridges that look like the same ones he saw in the room. It's simple math, based on what was shown.

So you can just buy that incredibly strong biocable, and on a budget even
