I need to know what the end result is for Blackie dangit! Wes can't duke it out with GR just wearing a suit and loafers... I mean c'mon. Someone dig me up some sketches, control art, anything movie related to BH, heh.

Many of us had been asking this question for a long damn time now. I've been looking to see what the movie BH is going to be for a while now, I want to give that thing a go with some pen and ink.

MSJ had said we will a quick glimpse of what BH and Mephisto would look like the trailer which will be probably be out in Feb 06 i guess.
they might keep the villain's true appearance secret until the movie hits but show off GR in trailers and such. kindve like what they did w/ King Kong

The overall look of the film is very appealing so far and I can imagine that the villians will blend into that nicely.

As well drawn as Blackheart was drawn with a suit or tuxedo on, he should probably be in full demon form with a body similar to what J.R., Jr. designed for him. That's the image I fall back on when I think of the character. And I don't even think of Hearts of Darkness, but rather his debut in Daredevil. The cover of Daredevil 272 (I believe, I can't find the comic at the moment) still sticks in my mind whenever I think of Blackheart.

Plus it would look much more imposing that if he wore some form of clothing. I think, unless it is spectacularly designed to the point of flawlessness, clothing would really take away from the overall impact of the character.

I really don't want to see any more footage till Summer since we're not going to see the movie till 2007. Unless they move it again. I'm actually hoping they don't reveal stuff like that at all. I hate trailers nowadays that basically give away all the best scenes, the best lines, and occasionally reveal plot twists, and the ending of the film. A teaser & even a trailer should just go over the basic premise. Dont' you hate seeing a trailer for a movie over and over for weeks where they show the best scenes or best one liners and then when you watch the movie everyone is waiting for it and we're already numb to it.

Couldn't agree more. I felt the Superman Returns and X-Men 3 teasers were more like short trailers. Ghost Rider's was much more like it: tantalisingly brief and gave very little away.

The images I've seen of Wes Bentley as Blackheart stray a bit from the comics version, but I think that's a good thing. Wes Bentley is THE perfect villian for many films. He has a natural brooding quality that most of these comic films lack.

It's also good to see him back in mainstream films. I can only recall him in "Four Feathers" last time he was in mainstream. Totally underrated and I hope to see more Bentley in the future.

By the way, as time goes on I'm going to want to open a WesBentley/Blackheart appreciation thread. If no one minds, I won't be doing it today but in the future. thanks!

However, if you want to start a Wes Bently/Blackheart Appreciation thread (Pics/News Welcome), like the Mephisto one, I don't see that being a problem, considering the current thread is pretty old and I'll just get it merged anyway. I was gonna go ahead and make it for you but figured it was something you wanted to do and will leave you to it. Try and make the title as similar to the Mephisto one as possible please, just to keep things organized.

I like teasers and trailers. I understand what you guys are talking about but, I've come to really appreciate what a teaser/trailer does. It's an artwork all to it's own and is important for the promotion process.

im guessing because its beginning to appear that movie BH wont look like the comic version ... since the comic character has no mouth and red eyes.
im withholding making any comments though until we see a full on pic of the character...cant make any judgements since that is just the start of his transformation.

Yeah it's just the start. The black is coming out of his mouth so it must take over. Though he'll probobly have a mouth.

And yeah, what sense would it have to make GR look almost exactly like he does in the book (excluding his bike) and then make Blackheart some dracula-looking toothy thing? Blackheart as he appears in the comics would be scary as hell in the movie!

I think BH in the movie is gonna look something between comic BH and comic blackout, since he's got also his powers...so maybe a BlackHeart with sharp teeths and black eyes?
