Updated version planned for early February release?

Update: According to CD Projekt RED director of public relations and global communication Michal Platkow, “There’s no Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that we are aware of, this is some kind of error that we will look into.”

Original Story: French retailers E-Leclerc and Amazon France, and Belgian retailer SmartToys are listing a The Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition due out for release in Europe on February 5.

CD Projekt RED usually releases Enhanced Editions of its The Witcher games with new features and upgrades. These upgrades are usually made available to existing owners of the game free of charge.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

They are going to want to release a jam-packed enhanced or GOTY edition at some point. But that probably won't be until long after Blood and Wine comes out.

I still wish they could figure out a way to port Witcher 2 to the latest console generation.

This. I'd love to see them slap a new coat of paint on Witcher 2

Something very interesting I want to point out. Remember what Casey Hudson said about Mass Effect 3 that angered fans so much?

“Is that
same type of complexity built into the ending of Mass Effect 3?”
Hudson: “Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to
build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about
eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is
coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot
more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many
decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that
stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings,
where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and
variety in them.”

Now switch out Mass Effect 3 and The Witcher 3...and it's suddenly true.

Yeah CD Projekt RED is too busy with Cyberpunk. For it to happen, another company would basically have to do it and rebuild it from scratch. It would be a tough game to port.

I just want the game to be BC for X1. I'd love a "remaster" but I'll take a straight port.

The Witcher 3 : Blood & Sand to Be Geralt's Last Adventure

Posted Jan 15, 2016

According to a recent interview with CD Projekt Red, the upcoming expansion to The Witcher 3, Blood & Sand, will be Geralt's last adventure and writer Jakub Szamalek reportedly believes that the expansion is
"something even better than the main game".
One of things CD wanted to do for the expansion was to create a more “charismatic enemy” for Geralt to face, as well as develop a more complex story they believe “players will appreciate.” This is Geralt’s final story according to the interview, so it sounds like CD Projekt RED wants to make it a memorable and lasting experience for players.

This is going to sound strange, but I am surprised at how much this game reminds me of LA Noire.

I wish this game had a companion system, so that Trololol and Bart followed me everywhere.

I'm 3 days in (72 hours), and I just turned off the mini-map a couple hours ago. There are almost no words to describe how beautiful The Witcher 3 is when you can focus 100% on the graphics (I'm playing on the PS4, I can only imagine how it looks on the PC).

What confused me is that the Red Dead Redemption mini-map never distracted from that game's beauty, and iirc it's placed in the exact same spot as in The Witcher 3 and everything. Imho a compass would've made more sense, like the one in Skyrim.

P.S. I only quoted so that I could leave a comment. Something is wrong with my chrome app, or the SHH site.

P.P.S. I have so much more to say about the game, but I'll wait until this thread shows some signs of life before I post again.

Yea I turned off a lot of the on screen info just so I could focus completely on the world Geralt inhabited.

I saw one leaked screenshot. Spoilers, obviously.

Description:
It shows a creature, that resembles female high vampire from CGI trailer of Witcher 3. Maybe it's even her after the transformation. No wonder DLC is called Blood and Wine.

I bet you saw tons more bugs than I did, considering I got the game at the very beginning of this year. The craziest glitch I encountered was when the game tried to load up a race, but instead loaded up what looked like an underwater test chamber; Geralt was swimming around without a breath limit. Also, my game has hard crashed at least 4 different times, which I've never experienced on console before (Skyrim froze on me a few times, which is basically the same thing). My PS4 is brand new, so I was wondering if anyone else with a console had their game crash multiple times as well.

According to a FAQ that I looked up today, I still have 30+ main quest missions to go. I'm almost level 21, so I'm powering through the main quest until I don't have to worry about getting less XP for being 5 levels over.

I may not be near the end, but The Witcher 3 is already my third favorite game of all time. Only God of War and Resident Evil 4 have a higher place in my heart (Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and The Last of Us were bumped down). The combat is fantastic for an open world RPG, the entire game is stunningly beautiful, the story, script and voice acting are all superb (Dandelion sounds out of place at the beginning, but I read The Last Wish a few weeks ago, and I have to say that he is very faithful to the source material), and Gwent is super addictive (I did have to put the difficulty down to normal though, on account of too many merchants having decks stacked with hero cards). CDPR has truly created a masterpiece. I wouldn't say The Witcher 3 is a better game than Skyrim, but it is most definitely more to my liking. Gameplay, graphics and story are what I value most in a game, and The Witcher 3 blows Skyrim out of the water when it comes to gameplay and story (graphics obviously can't be compared). Skyrim does allow more freedom in countless ways, so it's like comparing granny smith apples and Fiji apples.

As far as negatives go, there are quite a few; which is to be expected in such a massive game. They are all quite minor, to be sure. I already mentioned some of the bugs I've seen, and there's also pop in, Geralt can be an ass when trying to situate him so that you can pick stuff up, Roach likes to run away as you're about to mount him, and loves to start running along roads even when you're clearly just trying to cross, somber story moments sometimes have inappropriate music playing in the background, the game likes to change the weapons and armor you have equipped every so often (I was oddly pantsless for one clandestine conversation) and you have to pick what abilities you have active.

TLDR; The Witcher 3 is absolutely amazing, and to quote Angry Joe, worth every penny of it's purchase price. I can't wait to play the expansion packs once I'm done with the main game (and get rid of some of my back log). I had some spoilers that I wanted to talk about, but I'll save that for another post.

I didnt come across too many bugs, at least none of the game breaking, restart my console variety. I had some sound glitches where it seemed as if the sound couldnt load up properly and there would be some static for a few seconds, but the rest where harmless and typical of any game this size. The worst bug I had, which is now fixed, was with one of the DLC missions where the enemy you had to kill to finish the mission would get stuck in an endless loop.

But yea, as of now, this game is by far my favorite game from this gen, which isn't at all surprising as the previous game in the series was one of my favs from last gen. I cant wait for the final expansion, which will be bitter sweet seeing as how it'll be the last we see of this franchise for quite some time.

I like this franchise so much I bought the five ****ing novels that are currently available in English and the board game.

Yeah I have finished two books but have another two to go, really need to find the time to get back into the game to play the DLC sometime but too much other stuff at the moment.
