Comics The Wolverine thread

I got Origins, wasn't bad, but it looks like they will be teasing us about his past. We learned nothing new. :(

Whats up with the sword? The man has freakin claws, on both hands, I know when he is in all Samurai mode, the sword is cool, but...I guess thats just me nitpicking. :p
The last issue of Wolverine explained the sword.

They tease to keep the reader reading. I like it, keeps me on edge. Too many people want things put in front of them right away, then they complain it was over too quick. Just enjoy the ride. I know it's one tease after another but they're taking their time with what's taken so long to be revealed it's just being drawn out even more.:)

Can you explain? I haven't been reading the other ongoing, not for a while. :(

From Origins, it would seem that it is a special sword, do tell.

I was on Holiday so missed the final part of Origins and Endings, bloody gutted.

SO yeah, can someone please give the lowdown on the sword?

Wolverine

Storyline Info: Civil War is here, and in the wake of the Stanford Tragedy, Wolverine has made it his personal mission to hunt down the man responsible for the blast that killed so many; Nitro. But Logan's not the only one on the hunt for this killer, and he'll have to go through them first. But what will be more shocking; the identities of these hunters, or who they work for?

Wolverine: Origins

Creative Team: Daniel Way(writer) & Steve Dillon(artist)

Storyline Info: Wolverine remembers everything; and they do mean everything. Now, he has a list of revenge and people he needs answers from, and he won't let anyone or anything stop him from getting the answers he wants.

Dillion's art isn't right for Origins, but he owned with Punisher.

Despite what everyone is saying, Ramos's art actually makes me want to be the Wolverine tie-ins, I really dig it....alot. :O

I still sorta feel that it's kinda of lame that Wolverine basically has two solo series now.

Yeah, sure they got rid of him being in every X Team, but it's still like we have too much of him.

^^^Yeah, its kinda wierd. ITs kinda like in DC where in one comic Robin is a fugitive, in an other he is hunting the Brotherhood of Evil, and in another he is helping Batman with an investigation ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!! Truly a boy wonder.

BUt i got way off topic. Anyway, i would think origins wouldnt happen at the same time as the rest of the MU. Like it should have happened right after HoM rather than now.

Okay, I'm not liking that art for Wolverine. But I'm interested in Wolverine: Origins. Wolverine remembers everything? How many issues does Wolverine: Origins has??

I hate the art for the Wolverine series, teh artist clearly doesn't know how to draw a neck, looks like a damn WWE wrestler lol.

I believe the Origins mini, is going to last until the end of the Wolverine Civil War tie-in. So I would say five or six issues.

Origins is just on issue one, and Madrox, it is a new ongoing....

Ramos is a really bad choice for Wolverine. I like the premise of Origins but the first issue didn't grab me. Quesada's covers look great though.

Origins is on-going? My comic book provider said it was a mini, well then why would there be two Wolverine lines?

Because he is ****Everine! :(

It is an ongoing.

Yea...because Batman and Superman don't have 8 solo titles plus team books...

They just want to be able to give full attention to his exploration of his past. After all, I can see myself dropping his main solo series but continuing to pick up Origins.

To me, Origins is like the sequal to how his on-going use to be back in 1988 through the early ninties. He was the great character in search of his past...now his re-exploring that past. They should just retitle this to be his only solo story (plus, after the preview for the new Wolverine artwork...origins will look better too).

In fairness, though, having two series of his own isn't as much overexposure as being in all the team books... because if you don't like it, you can just avoid his series. If he's in a team book you like, you're stuck with it.

And it's got the better costume. :D Good points all around...

Both Dillon & Ramos are WRONG for Wolverine books.

I like Dillon and respect him ... from his early days with 2000ad to Preacher he is consistant and hard working. But action scenes are not his strong point and when it comes to Wolverine that is a problem!

As far Ramos ...... where do I start ?? Terrible.
Something from the Liefeld school of art.

"WOLVERINE ORIGINS" GOODS

1.-Cover art (by Quezada and Isanove)
2.- The plot (we yet have to see how it is developed along the series)

"WOLVERINE ORIGINS" BADS

1.-Interior art (when i first heard about "Wolverine Origins" coming out i was very excited, when i saw for the first time the cover art i was more excited, but when i get a peek at the interior art it was a let down, i was expecting someting more like the interior art of the Origin miniseries, something more rustic, maybe???, but what the hell, i bought it anyway)

Yeah the interior artwork is a huge let down, hence the reason they put great covers on it ;).
