BvS The Wonder Woman Costume Thread - Part 2

Johansson looks great. Love her hair and I don't mind the costume considering it looks a lot like Hawkeye's costume in Avengers (they could zip it up a bit more though). And Black Widow was portrayed well in Avengers. That's why posters like that confuse me.

THAT IS AWESOME!!!! That is how WW (and her costume) should look. It's perfect.

It's funny... you still have yet to answer my question about if you would like Superman or Batman to wear the same amount of clothing you are claiming is "empowering" to WW.
I don't remember claiming that. As for your question, I don't know how Batman or Superman would look, if they came out of a sunny amazon island. Maybe Superman would wear something along what Conan sometimes wears. Batman would be something else entirely. Considering their origin, I don't mind that. As much as I don't mind barbarian skimpy outfit.

^One of the worst comic book movie posters ever. Retouched figure, senseless pose. Ugh...

Do you really think that?

That's quite a contrast to what you've been saying about women so far.

Are you just trying to change your tune because you're taking heat for your view of women?

Beautiful. I was hoping you'd have some more costumes for us today.

The thing is, she was written well in TA, and I'm fairly sure that she'll be written well in TWS. Also, Scarjo is sexiness personified. Given these factors, I simply don't understand why whoever is in charge of making these promotional posters feels the need to do stupid/ridiculous stuff like that.

I don't get it either. The person who writes her obviously has no control over the posters. And what gets me is that they don't need to stoop to this to sell her. People already like her.

^ Here's the thing, I don't think it's really fair to demand that WW wear as much as Superman/Batman, given their different cultural influences. And just to make things fair, add Hawkman in JL.

On the other hand, I don't think people will be able to see anything that comes close to revealing her thighs and take her seriously (so the famous one is outlawed in my eyes). It's sad, but there is a double standard in the sense that a male warrior in skimpy outfits has the might "sold" to the audience, but when a woman wears something similar it becomes all about "teh hotness."

WW coming out of a sunny island MIGHT affect how she dresses in her down time (the Amazons are NOT usually depicted as being scantily clad btw. They tend to wear Greco-Roman style clothing and armor). However, it would not automatically equal "I'm going to fight the forces of evil in a glorified bathing suit." That's a false equivalency.

^ It's funny how easier it is to look at her face knowing that the top of her legs are covered up. But yes, battleskirt all the way.

As long as it's about the same size as a male action warrior's is, of course.

Don't wanna offend MrsKent :P

I don't expect WW to look that much like Supes and Bats either and that's ok. She has a different theme. I can't speak for others, but I will be able to take her seriously as long as they are reasonable. If she has a skirt, a bit shorter than knee length is ideal. And avoid any stereotypical "hot chick" poses and we're golden as far as her image.

I would not be offended by that. Or pants.

For me, the ideal outfit for wonder woman would be something similar to what the outfits in the movie Troy were like.

In the latter half of the movie she can add colour, once she realises that she wants to be a symbol.

That's actually a good idea. A version of Pitt's outfit in Troy could work if they want to play up the Hellenic inspiration behind WW. And Pitt was also able to perform action scenes in this very well. So it probably wouldn't inhibit Gal.

This isn't the best picture of it because I couldn't seem to find a good front view.

Brad Pitt's flowing blonde locks are magnificent. He looks like a Greek god.

I do.

Not really.

There's nothing to change. You don't see the full picture and jump on people without full understanding.

^ lol, ok man.

I wonder why people are being so critical of your views then.

That's actually quite short :hehe:

But if she has wondershorts, it won't matter, will it? :P

To be honest, even that length might work for me depending on the overall theme. But I think just above the knee would be best.

People may think I'm some sort of extremist, but I really just don't want the panties or a really tiny top that makes it look like her boobs will fall out. Anything beyond that is probably not gonna set off my sexism alarm.

Sucks that his acting was terrible in that movie!
Aww, I thought he did well at times. And he was great in the action scenes. He is a hit and miss actor though.

^ Then just make the Superman/Batman suit's tighter until we can see who the World's Finest IS :D

Gender equality! :funny:

Oh lawd. If we make Superman's suit any tighter, he might dislocate something important.

Jim Lee softcore art- stranger than his depiction of Batman as a roid freak and Black Canary as a sex doll is the fact that he draws the likes of Alfred and Leslie Tompkins in the same way.

Also, Wonder Woman can have multiple outfits. She could actually wear the classic bathing suit for a scene or two and have it make sense.

I could deal with it if she was swimming. Not sure a beauty pageant would fit in.

Why has nobody mentioned her costume from the animated movie universe. A costume that actually does a good job of not throwing her body in your face like LOOK AT THESE JUGGS without covering her up head to toe in battle armor or anything. I think its the best of both worlds.

I don't understand it, to be honest. What are the opera gloves for?
