OOC: Geez, Slade may as well open up his own pharmacy. He's got a chemical for everything.

IC: Black Adam cocked an eyebrow at the exchange between the Shade and Deathstroke. "What are you up to, Shade?"

"Thank you very much, Slade."- Shade said wile looking at the vial and smiling. "Don't worry, I'm not going to 'spend it all in one place.' This is to continue a the misdirection theme I have been going for. Since you incapacitated the surveillance system after we left the room...you DID do that, right? But, of course; I should know better."

Shade turned to Black Adam- "Anyway, the only witness of my power usage has been taken care of. Beast Boy DID see me, but the 'raven' that attacked him was like his teammate's and came from the opposite side. I only used a few shadow bolts which I hope isn't enough for him to put two and two together. The next shadow user I'm going to look up will add to another person's grief, it should be like a sweet cordial after a succulent meal. I don't want to ruin the surprise, though. I'll tell you after my first session."- he finished.

OOC: No "outloud" guessing, please. You Alliance guys already know or have an idea of who it is, so...shush!up:

I stared wide-eyed as Crane destroyed Joker's plane. I don't think it was the fact that he probably killed Joker that shocked and angered me (hell, I might figuritvely dance the jig if the "man" turned out dead), but that this was a completely 180 turn on Crane's part.

As plane landed back to the Reservoir, I saw Crane step out with a grim yet satisfyed look on his face. I walked towards him, ready to put the cuffs on him.

John turned his attention to the plane containing Joker, only to see it explode in mid air. And afterwards using his powers to send a message to both Hal, and the JL general.

"Yo. Folks. What's up with the vaccine? Can I take down the wall surrounding Gotham now?"

Then switches to a private line aimed towards Batman only.

"Bats. You have some time to confirm, some info I've heard on Slades recent actions?"

Then he looks up at the sky. thining to himself. "If what this it true then I'm in some way responsible for this."

"Batman wants you to turn on this machine." SHe leads him into the rooms and motions to the machine in the corner. "And fly it over Gotham so the gas can disperse and cure the virus." She paused "That's the theory. Hopefully it will work."

"Be back... in, um... be back in a flash!"

*Hal shoots out the roof and into the sky with the machine and turns it on above the exat middle of Gotham. With his ring, he wills a giant fan and spreads the antidote all across Gotham...*

"Free antidote for everyone!"

I hear John ringing in my comm and press my hand on it to answer.

"Understood Bats." John says over the private line. "I'll meet you their the instant I help Hal desprise the vaccine. This shouldn't take long." then he adds. "Because what I have to tell you about Slade isn't good."

"Be back... in, um... be back in a flash!"

*Hal shoots out the roof and into the sky with the machine and turns it on above the exat middle of Gotham. With his ring, he wills a giant fan and spreads the antidote all across Gotham...*

John appears along side him. "Hmmm. That'll work.'" John says to himself aloud "I was going to put it in a series of emerad eggs, and then airburst them over Gotham. Space them equally to cover the entire city equally. But I see theirs no need for them now." John says to Hal.

"I'll take down the wall as soon as the vaccine is well in effect. Until then, later." And on that point he leave Hal and flys off to another part of the city.

 

[Charlie No-One]

Silver shackles held Crane were he was. “You know that was what you were waiting for since the Joker was ‘created’. I was the only one that could go through with it, Batman” Crane said as two men in white coats took Crane into a van in a straight jacket.

LATER

Lying in his own cell, immobilized in a straight jacket, Jonathan watched the different nurses and doctors go around Arkham Asylum. A cop approached the naked room and the door slowly creaked open.

“You’re going to die,” the cop started.
“Oh really?”
“Yes. We knew it since the day you came here so many years ago. It is just finally taking action now,”
“You’re name is Amanda, right?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Amanda, I am glad that you are alive to live another day before some other crazy kills you. Please leave me,”

The door slowly closed behind Amanda. The former Scarecrow sat and cried. My life is going to end.

An hour later, Amanda came back in to untie Crane. He tried to sleep, but a CLINK hit the floor of his prison. A small blast hit the back of the room and the wall crumbled. Looking out of the new hole, he saw a piece of paper.

Until I can finish the job myself, try and smile.

JOKER!

The smell of freedom never smelled so good.

I heard from the police band: There's been a break-out in Arkham. Apparently, someone felt sorry for his death sentence and freed Johnathon Crane.

I followed him a few blocks away from Arkham. I finally let myself be noticed when Crane slipped into a dark alley. Crane, obviously, gasped from fright.

"I scared the master of fear?" I asked.

"Yes, laugh it up, why don't you." He replyed. "So, back to Arkham then, huh? That is, until I get the needle, right?"

"I thought about it. But...with you helping to stop the plague and trying to stop Joker at the Reservoir, I think there may be some hope for you, Crane.

"So here is my proposition: I let you go, right now. I'll just tell any police I meet that you slipped away. You will lie low, try to live a good life. But, I'll be watching, and if I hear you so much as jaywalk, let alone use your fear gas, I'll put you in the chair myself.

"Do you understand?" He nods and runs from my sight. I hope my words will pursuade him to lead a better life. I think it's possible, though I have been wrong before...

"John," I call out to my comm, "if you're still interested in talking, I'll be on the roof of Wayne Towers." With that I get the Batmobile to me and drive back to Wayne Towers and back to my penthouse.

 

[Supergirl]

Calm down girl. You need to get a grip, there will be time to cry later. Right now you have more important things to take care of. Bart just seemed to be one of many targets, there may be more heroes in danger now. She picked herself out of the ball she had curled into, and wiped the tears off her face. Her mascara had run down her swollen and bruised cheeks. Her right eye was blackened, and traces of blood were under her nose and on her lower lip. She could still taste the copper in her mouth. The rest of her body ached from her battle with Black Adam.

"Hey, Super-babe, you've seen better days... but I guess all four of us aren't so hot right now eh?"

"Shut the hell up Gar. Bart is dead, and his killers are still out there somewhere, this is no time to crack jokes."

"Whoa, what now? Bart can't be dead, can he? What happened?"

"Well lets piece together what we do know. I got taken out by Black Adam. Why he attacked us I don't know, but the guy packs a wallop."

"And I got beat by Deathstroke."

"I don't know who got me, some codger in a top hat though."

"Bart and I were attacked in my room, simultaneously by Slade and Adam. Adam drew me away from the tower and is the reason for all of my injuries, Deathstroke and this other guy must have killed Bart while Adam fought me. Parasite attacked the both of us, saying something about needing us alive or something. I got back and the villains were disappearing, and I found Bart's costume empty on the floor. He must have merged with the speed force, funny how we talked about that at dinner." Tears started rolling down Kara's cheek again. "No matter, I have to get word to other heroes. I'm going to the watchtower to see if I can find Superman, I'll be back by the morning."

Kara flew to the Watch Tower, taking out her anger and pain on meteors along the way, one she pounded hard enough so that it left a new crater on the moon. She got to the Watch Tower, shortly after her cousin and Dr. Mid-Nite. "Kal! Oh god Kal!"

"Kara, what's wrong? Calm down."

Kara buried her head on Superman's shoulder as he hugged her. "It's Bart. Bart, he, he's dead. Oh god. He's dead!" Supergirl again burst into tears, crying into Superman's cape.

OOC: SuperFerret I hope you don't mind the minimal bunnying I just did.

Where's Nightwing? He got me into this whole speedforce thing. Wonder where he's going with this.

IC: "Flash this is J'onn. You live in a strange world and im kinda freaked out so if you could hurry and get me out of here id be very appreciative." J'onn looked around as the tower disappeared. He could see streaks of red and yellow. "Wally is that you?"

Black Adam had an idea of what the Shade had planned, but he didn't really care at the moment. Much as he hated to admit it, he was hurting. He needed to rest and recover his strength. He told the others as much, then retired to one of the Tower's many rooms with instructions to get him if anything came up.

I didn't know Bartholomew Allen very well. But this may have hurt me as much as Kara. It's all my fault, in the long run. It's my fault Adam eas away from Khandaq, it's my fault the Dark Alliance even got together. The only possible way to reconcile is to stop this once and for all. But will I ever truly be forgiven? Only time will tell.

 

[Keyser Soze]

The Joker was in his hideout in the outskirts of Gotham City. That fool Scarecrow had tried to kill him by blowing up his plane. But he should have known that it would take more than that to kill The Clown Prince Of Crime!

After a brief swim in the ocean, he'd found his way back to Gotham Harbour, and then back to his decaying mansion home. After some time for recovery, he busted Crane out of Arkham, just to let him know he hadn't won. Now "The Master Of Fear" was going to be living in fear.

"Oh, such wonderful irony, HA HA!"

He'd pay his old pal Scarecrow a visit some day. Not tomorrow, not next week. But sometime, just when he would probably be letting his guard down. No, he wouldn't be making any strikes in the near future - not even on dear old Brucie. No, the superhero community probably thought The Joker was dead. And for now, he wanted to keep it that way. He wanted to lay low for a while. He was cooking up some plans. Big plans. And he was going to personally oversee them.

Saying a silent farewell to his house, The Joker left and walked to his rendez-vous point. A chopper was waiting there to take him to Liberty Island, a small patch of land just off the coast near Gotham City. Smiling wickedly, he hopped into the passenger seat of the chopper, patting the driver on the back.

"Take me to my House Of Fun..."

OOC: And that's it for two weeks. I'm going away for a holiday in sunny Spain. I'm sure this Season will still be running when I get back, so I can pick things up from here. I've had a great time playing as The Joker, so I'd really appreciate it if I could keep the character reserved until I come back.

Flash-"J'onn--I'm gonna need you to fly towards me as fast as you possibly can. That should slow you down and I'll be able to grab you so Ray can get us the hell out of here. You follow?"
Martian Manhunter-"YES!"

*He tries to fly to me but it lot of good that's doing. He's fast but not that fast. I'm reaching my hand out to his...Almost...Almost...NOW!"

*I push Ray out of the way. I'm getting down to the bottom of this.*

*I ask fearing the worst. I pray to god I am wrong and it was only my mind playing tricks on me. Some alternate universe. Anything!*

Todd Rice sleeps peacefully. There's nothing to alert him as the shadows beneath his bed darken and an odorless, colorless gas rises until it reaches his face. Todd awakens from his slumber covered in cold sweat and breathing raggedly. Something isn't right and he can't place what. His vision is blurry and his head feels fuzzy. "What's wrong with me?!"- he says desperately while clutching his head. "You're incomplete, master. You need us back."- something whispers. "WHO'S THERE!!"- Todd says as he turns around and the motion makes the whole room spin around him.

It's us. master. It's you. It's your soul. Your other half beseeches to complete yourself.

"NOOOOO!!!"- he says terrified as he realizes the shadows are writhing on the walls and the floor. "I'm done with you! I'm good now. I have a family, I have a father. The badness is behind me, I'm good now. I'm good. GO AWAY!!!! please, go away"

"Don't cry. We love you too. You got us all together, you took us from all those other people that used us and made us a family. We ARE your family. You'll never be complete without us, a piece of your soul is here. You left it as a reminder taht you're part of us and would never forget us. You love us as much as we love you. Embraaaaaace ussssssss...

Todd is kneeling on his bed, his arms are wrapped about himself in a trembling embrace. Tears run down his face freely as his mouth lies open in a silent sobbing scream as spittle falls from his lip. He tries to speak but nothing in his body responds. The shadows draw near him. Todd notices them and jumps back- "AAAAAAaahhh, n-nuh-NO!! NO-oooohh!!" He leans against the wall, cradling himself. "I'm good. I'm light. I'm good. I'm light. Daddy says I'm good now and he's the light and I'm the light because he loves me and my sister is the light and I'm the light because she loves me."- Todd says while rocking back and forth.

Sister issssss DEAD! You need us now more than ever! We still love YOU!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"- Todd screams. "It's true. IT'S TRUE! I felt it in my sleep. They killed her. She's gone."- Todd looks around spasmodically. "Help me, help me be strong again. I have to avenge my sister. Help me!"- Todd says extending his arms at the shadows.

We'll help you. We obey you, master. But it was daddy's fault. He didn't take care of you AGAIN. He abandoned you again. That's why you don't have a sister. We'll help you avenge sister and PUNISH DADDY!

"Yes, punish daddy. Punish daddy! Daddy is the light and he takes the shadows away. The shadows love me and daddy takes away my love. Punish daddy.help me daddy."- Todd says with glazed eyes.

Raise your arm. And as Todd does, the shadows form around his hand and fly into the wall shattering a hole in it. Sleep, for now. And Todd falls to the bed asleep. Inside Mordru's tower, the Shade steps through a jet black portal with edges frayed in green fire. His laughter rings accross the halls.

OOC:Todd Rice is Obsidian, Alan Scott's son. I stopped 'cause I'm freaking myself out.

"Will do. I'm hading out there now." John replies back hoving over Gotham as he takes down the last of the walls he set up.

And within a few minutes he arrives at Wayne Towers. Landing on it's roof and rezzes up a chair to sit down on. He proceeds to wait for Batman's arrival.

J'onn walked to the main control room. he psychically entered Ray's mind. "Thank you Ray.I owe you one"
