The 'World of Heroes: DC Style" RPG Season II

I'm in trouble. If I' ever alone with him, I have to put D'Stroke on ice, figuratively speaking... Shade is a tricky one, but I might only need dissuade him from killing me, rather than take him myself. He's close to immortal. Close to. Take away the shadows and he's powerless. Steer clear of Adam, he suspects, and his defeat would only bring Mordru after me faster. Guess I won't need that voice recording after all...

OOC: Very Titans Tommorow there, but I can't recall Black Adam returning much to his other form, as in he never does anymore, and I doubt Doc would've gotten a voice recording of it the few times it might have happened. But its all fine with me.

Several days later Oswald Cobblepot arrived in the Nevada desert. After the money it cost to repair the damage done to the Iceberg Lounge by the Bat,not to mention the 50 million pay off he had to give the Joker, the Penguin needed to feather his nest with some quick cash.

And he decided to go to his favorite casino(apart from his own),and that was the House.

Arriving at the secret entrance Cobblepot waddled in and was greeted by Roulette."Oswald darling.Delighted to have you back".

Penguin took her hand in his and kissed it."Roulette my dear. You're looking as charming as ever.Tell me what is the buzz this evening???".

"Well Parasite is on a roll Ozzie. He's won two rounds and has one more to go" she said as she escorted the Penguin into the main fighting arena.

"Parasite eh.I enjoy a good parasite.Like a ravenous vulture that feeds off others to satisfy it's hunger" Penguin said as he took his seat.

He reached into his pocket and took out a wad of cash."Here you are my dear.50'000 on Parasite.Make me lucky".

Roulette winked at him."I don't think you need it Ozzie.Somehow you always seem to come up smelling of roses" she said as she walked away.
OOC: Time to put on a good show...

The Parasite walked into the caged ring for the third time, but he wasn’t as confident about this match as he was for the previous ones. Henshaw wouldn’t be easy. The Cyborg was similar to Metallo in a lot of ways, but at least Metallo had a weakness; his kryptonite power source. Cyborg didn’t share such a weakness. Henshaw was self-powered, not giving Rudy an energy source to latch onto.

At the other side of the ring, Hank Henshaw strutted into the large ring with a grin plastered on his face. Both the Parasite and the Cyborg stood facing each other from across the arena. Rudy took his eyes off of Henshaw to look at their audience. The seats were packed with wealthy folks and some other supervillains that Rudy had never heard of. But two sets of eyes caught his attention: One was a new face that Rudy had never met in person himself, but he knew them after absorbing knowledge from Batman. It was Oswald Cobblepot. The Penguin. Rudy looked further down the rows of seats to see Killer Frost cheering for him. Parasite winked to his new gal-pal.

The bell rang to begin the fight.

“Let’s rumble, Eggplant!”

“Pfft. This, coming from an Easybake Oven.”

With that, the opponents roared and dashed towards one another.

He (Adam) actually did it when we were fighting the Injustice Society earlier this season... If it weren't for that, It'd be slightly less believable that Mid-Nite would have the recording.

"Someone has to find himself again and I feel like the right man to do it. He's exactly like you all those years ago."

So Tim called in Ducard to help him? Half of me wonders why he didn't ask for my help, and the other knows exactly why.

In his eyes, he has failed, and almost nothing I can say or do will convince him otherwise. No wonder he called outside help, he probably feels guilty in the mere presence of me.

And Ducard is right, Tim is exactly like I was at his age. Maybe that's why I feel the urge to help him so bad. And maybe that's why I've decided what I have decided.

"I understand. Tim, I know why you're doing this. I want to help, but, because I know, I have to ask. Do you want my help as well?"

I ponderd the question realizing that the answer will change everything.

"No."

I took a deep breath.

"I need to redifine who I am and my purpose, I will come back when I am most needed."

Mordru watches their fight from his position high in the clouds for what seems like a lifetime. Jade has taken some nasty cuts, one she will definitely need to see the physician for, and is bloodied and bruised. Deathstroke has taken some serious hits as well, but, thanks to the mystically enhanced armor, he is not nearly as damaged as young Ms. Hayden.
Sirens draw Mordru’s attention away from the fight, and, many blocks down the road, he sees a quartet of cruisers, a police helicopter, and a SWAT van coming to the scene.
A green flame burns in the Dark Lord’s eyes as he teleports away…

A fifteen year veteran of the NYPD, Lieutenant Ian McFarlin speeds towards the scene in his old school, yet modified, Crown Victoria squad car. This is not the first time he’s seen metahumans fighting it out on his city’s streets. No, this kind of stuff happens more often than he cares to admit. The latest one is still fresh in his memory as it just happened about a year ago. A band of walking talking guerillas attacked the city, led by a master criminal called Grodd. Ian remembers having to evacuate people as the talking monkeys fought off a group of heroes near the docks. Ian almost lost an arm that day due to the building he was in coming down around him and the child he was carrying out. Luckily it only broke his arm.

Yeah, lucky, he thinks as he turns a corner, nearing his destination. Outside the building, a group of guerillas surrounded him and were about to strike, but, to Ian’s amazement, they were suddenly scooped up by an emerald dump truck. Looking up in the sky, Ian saw that it was the woman named Jade that had saved his life and the kid’s. He could’ve retired that day, and spent the rest of his days with his wife, Clara, and his two little girls, Haley and Jaine. But, like his father, and his grandfather, he is a cop. Like them, Ian would finish out his fifteenth year and then retire. Not Before.

As he and his fellow officers turn the a final street corner, they are confronted by a large, robed figure standing in the middle of the road. Ian, in the lead car, honks his horn when he sees the man isn’t moving out of the way. Crazy bastard, he thinks as the robed figure calmly raises his hand…and, sitting in his car, Ian bursts into flames. Screaming an ungodly howl, Ian jerks the wheel and rams a light pole, totaling his cruiser. As death comes to take him, Officer Ian McFarlin’s final thoughts are of his family. He could’ve retired a year ago, but, like his father and grandfather, he is a cop…and now he will never be able to see his family ever again.

Having wiped out the police, Mordru transports himself back to his ally's fight against the green witch…

Shade. His powers are those of shadow. But, mine are, too. The mirror gun gives me a distinct advantage: light. This gun shoots light in many forms and concentrations. It can create simple illusions. I can use it to travel through mirrors. These powers run counter to the Shade's mastery of shadow matter, something I find curious in that shadows have no mass. I could drag him into a mirror world, but it's too risky... I might be in just as much trouble as him. Or, taking another route, I might freeze him. I wonder, does shadow move as fast as light? He serves only his own purposes... pehaps he would join me? Though he still wants to oppose Jay Garrick, I don't doubt we could work something out, if I convince hm that the others are only hindering his cause.

Dinah kept her back against the wall as she watched him get off the floor, she knew it was Harkness.

Her mind wandered to the rest of the Costumed Community. Here she was God knows where in Africa, with her back against the wall in a dark quansit hut.

Batman was most likely taking care of the Penguin or some freak from Arkham, Nightwing would be busy in Bludhaven, Hal was probably off saving an entire galaxy.
And she stood here in her cotton camisole and pajama bottoms.
All to just ask a guy why he blew a chunk out of a WayneTech building.

She suddenly realized how tired she was. She was tempted to go back to bed, and let the whole thing go. Maybe even head back tomorrow. She'd been out of contact from Babs for a long time, and she hoped everything was alright.

OOC: See? I KNEW that..I'm TIRED..staying up all night, and debating, with my EX of all people..and nursing sick children isn't easy..that and I have to find a logical way to get DInah out of there..:( :(

Deathstroke was taking wounds left and right, but he was inflicting more of them than the once he had to cash in. This particular green heroine was going to go down and another notch was going to be added to the killcount of this Dark Alliance. Deathstroke felt a tinge of remorse, but he treated it like any other job, except he didn't get cash. He got protection and some powerful allies that could help him get rid of the Titans. Just like his family had been taken from him, he would eradicate theirs, to the last one.

OOC: So can someone give me the lowdown on what everyone's doing? It's been a long time...

OCC: Hello everyone. I just signed on as the Scarecrow for the rest of the season and season 3. Is there any place for the Scarecrow to show up? And just like Batnkevlar..a run down would be great.

Well, a LOT has happened, and I haven' been round long enough to talk about all the stories in-depth. But I can give you a run-down of what The Joker has been up to...

- After recovering form gunshot wounds from The Parasite, The Joker escaped Arkham.
- The Joker quickly discovered htat the man responsible for his release was harvey Dent.
- Dent, back in the DA's office and cured of Two-Face, wished to gain more power as DA. Releasing The Joker was an attempt to scare the city into giving him more authority.
- The Joker blackamiled Dent into working for him, making him frame Bruce Wayne for vairous crimes.
- That's right, The Joker has discovered Bruce Wayne is Batman.
- The Joker then began his master plan, involving killings based aroun irony.
- He killed a group of depression sufferers in a therapy group with laughing gas.
- He ran down a doctor with an ambulance.
- He blew up a bus full of people in front of a fire station
- He murdered a little girl, the daughter of a man famous for running children's charities.
- Finally, he killed Alfred on Father's Day.
- However, Harvey Dent betrayed him, shooting him and leaving him for dead.
- But Joker survived, having worn a Kevlar vest.
- Joker went to meet The Penguin, getting a 50 million pay-off to ensure Dent owuld never be DA again.
- The Joker did this by spraying acid in dent's face ,turning him back into Two-Face.
- Batman, confronting The Penguin at his casino, was ambushed by Joker and Two-Face.
- Joker injected Batman with a paraylsing drug, and buried him alive in a mass grave alongside the exhumed corpses of his parents.
- In a rage, batman escaped, and beat the living hell out of The jorek and Two-Face.
- Here, Joker revelaed his final great irony. By killing The Joker, Batman would become him. But Batman didn't kill him, instead leaving him for the police.
- However, with Two-Face's help, The Joker escaped from the police.
- He collected his 50 million payoff from The Penguin and abandoned Two-Face.
- He is using his money to convert an abandoned prison in an island off th ecoast of Gotham into a funhouse from hell.

That's just the Batman related characters,

Dark Alliance (Alternatively, Secret Society): Black Adam and Mordru rally their forces to wipe out Earth's hero population

-Ares betrayed Mordru, who promptly defeated him
- The Shade killed the Tarantula just as D'Stroke showed up to recruit him
- Mirror Master, who is really Dr. Mid-Nite II, was recruited be Black Adam
- Shade, Adam, and MM were supposed to kill Captain Marvel, Jr., but Mirror Master faked the murder.
- Shade showed Adam that the murder was fake, and told him that MM's actions are suspicious
-Mordru and D'Stroke are currently trying to kill Jade
- Dr. Mid-Nite will strike against the Alliance eventually, and he has a plan to defeat everyone but Mordru

The Scarecrow took off his soaked glove. The glove was glimmering with crimson liquid. Oh what a night! Another high school bully dead! Another 20 to go, the demented masked figure said. He took a tiny silver box out of a sack and laid it on the rotting table. He looked the box over and put it back in the sack and headed for the showers.

A bright and forbidding moon glimmered down on Gotham’s rigid sidewalks. The tall and lanky, Dr. Crane, stood in front of 786 Riding Road. A rather plump man answered the door.

“Ah, Doctor Murphy! Thank you for coming on such short notice! Barbra just started flipping out, ya know? She picked up the knives! I just didn’t know who to call,” he said. “It is no problem,”

“It is no problem at all, Steve. Some patients just have trouble adjusting to new meds,” said Dr. Crane going along with the man.

Jonathan followed the man into his home. A middle-aged woman sat on a couch, breathing heavily. Crane pulled out the silver box and placed it on an expensive looking coffee table. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a mask.

“What the hell? Dr. Murphy?” said the fat man.

“Do you remember Jonathan Crane? Do you remember picking on him everyday of the 10th grade?” screamed the Scarecrow.

The box opened up and out came a very toxic gas. The gas lifted through the room, not leaving a cranny free of it’s grasp. It slowly reached the two vulnerable people in the room. The woman, dazed, reached for a knife on the bench beside her. Crane left the house with a small smile on his face.

Returning to the battle, Mordru again begins to sit back and watch the fight persist. Deathstroke was toying with her. This was a fact that amused the Dark Lord, but they had no time to waste. So, Mordru decided to enter the fray.

Jade, bloodied and battered, flies higher in order to get some distance between herself and the Terminator, and so that she can regroup. A strange crackling sound catches her attention, and she looks up in time to see a massive bolt of green energy come streaking from the clouds directly at her. Her shields are up, but the bolt cuts through them with ease, and, with a thunderous explosion, she is thrown back down to the sidewalk.

Mordru appears right behind Deathstroke, who is standing a few meters in front of the smoldering Jade. Jade is still alive though, albeit barely. Mordru turns to face Deathstroke, “Finish it, Terminator. We must return to the Tower and plan our next move.”

OOC: Actually, Mordru didn't fight Ares. After the Olympian ran out on us, Mordru simply reneged on their deal is all. So, the god of conflicts is still barred from taking action himself on the Earth. :D
