The 'World of Heroes: DC Style" RPG Season II

OOC: Speaking of the "mutt"...

Clark sat up as the sound of a barking dog reached his ears. At first, he thought it was Krypto, all the way from the Fortress, but then he remembered that his super-hearing was gone with the rest of his powers. He stood and began to walk in the direction of the barking. He could tell, from his experiences with Krypto and his childhood on the farm, that the dog was in distress from it's barking. He began jogging towards the dog, and as he got to the top of a hill, he could see the dog. It was a young shepherd pup, and his paw was caught in a fence.
He bent down to see if the dog could be freed, cautiously moving his hand towards the dog's head. It happily licked his hand. "Well," Clark said, chuckling, "at least we know you're friendly." After a bit of fussing with the fence, the dog's paw came free.
The little pup didn't seem hurt, he was just glad to be free. He jumped up on Clark and licked his face until Kent pulled the little guy away from his face. He lifted the energetic pup in his arms, and took him home.
"Well, little guy," Clark said, "I hope you like the farm life."

OOC: I'll go as Mr. Miracle right now...

"..... Source Wall.... yes... Well, the Source is where the Universe came from. The Source takes the form of a giant hand and writes messages on the Source Wall. As far as I know, Highfather Izaya is the only one to see it... it told him to end the war with Apokolips, and he handed me over to Darkseid. I'm not sure where it is, but Highfather would know. You'll have to go to New Genesis either way..."

OOC: Seriously, what do I do with Mid-Nite and the other two? We can't go to Khandaq... Corp, can we go?
OOC: Actually, The Source Wall is the giant wall at the edge of the DCU that is composed of the bodies of Promethean Giants and other beings who have tried to penetrate it. And, if I remember correctly, it supposedly holds back the pure power of The Source.
The thing Highfather gets info from is something else, though it's still connected to The Source, but it's still a good place for the heroes to get some answers.

“The good doctor is taking a lengthy sabbatical at the moment”, answers Mordru with a devious smile. “At any rate, do not concern yourself with Fate. His time is over.”

"Fair enough. I care little for how you came across your power, only that you have it and are willing to direct it at the so-called 'heroes,'" Adam's mouth twists around the word, "of the world."

Mordru turns to face Adam and reaches out his right arm with his palm open. A small green flame appears just above his palm, and, when it dissipates, a small emerald falls into the Dark Lord’s palm.
“Here, take this. It will allow you to roam the Tower freely without worry. Should you become lost, just concentrate on this location and the gem will take you here. Also, this trinket allows you access to the majority of the doors in this room.”
Mordru points to a door towards Adams left, “That door there will transport you to the Middle East, specifically the outskirts of your homeland. If you wish to check up on your people, you may do so. When you wish to return, just concentrate on the gem, and the doorway leading back to the Tower will appear.”

"That will be of no use to me for the time being. Khandaq is in anarchy, its people turned against me. Only after I have destroyed the Earth's populace of heroes can I safely rebuild my benevolent rulership there without fear that they will simply destabilize the country again the next time my back is turned."

Mordru gives the gem to Adam, and turns towards a door on the far side of the large room. “Now, you must excuse me as I will try and locate the mercenary called Deathstroke.”
Mordru stops before entering the door, “This room here…is forbidden to all save me. You are not permitted to enter it. Is this clear?”
Adam peers at the door Mordru indicates. "Of course," Adam says, "I am sure that whatever it contains would be of no interest to me anyway. Despite the source of my powers, I loathe you wizards and your toys." Inside his head, Adam's thoughts tell a different story, however. "He would bar me from that room," Adam thinks . "It must contain something important... I will have to find a means to access it eventually."

Adam turns as the door clicks shut behind Mordru. He turns back to ask Mordru a question, but is startled to find that the door is no longer even there. "Gaining entry may be harder than I thought," Teth-Adam thinks. "But no matter. More pressing matters concern me now." He sets off down the twisted corridors and mind-boggling staircases of Fate's Tower. One door reveals an enormous library littered with books on magic in all its myriad forms. Teth-Adam sneered and closed the door. His powers were of a different sort, but they were all he needed; unlike those whose assistance he presently sought, he did not feel the rabid lure of absolute power. He wished only to be left alone in a world where he could keep a strong, united Khandaq safe. That world did not yet exist, and it was easy to manipulate those who craved power into helping him build it since he could faithfully promise them whatever they desired of their new world besides Khandaq; he cared little for other territories, as well.

Black Adam's search of the premises took him all over the tower. He opened doors onto freezing tundras, barren desert wastelands, and even worlds composed entirely of raging fires. Other doors revealed riches beyond telling, artifacts of magical power, demon hordes. None of it impressed him, and ultimately he used the gem to take him back to his starting point so he could simply sit down and wait. He wanted only one thing; he just wished Mordru would locate Deathstroke faster.

OOC: rigel, you can go to Khandaq. You'd just be stuck in the middle of a chaotic war zone. I've still gotta gather up some forces so I can try to kill you suckas. :p

The Parasite and Killer Frost hadn't spoke to each other after it was announced that they were to fight each other- possibly even kill each other.

Rudy had drained many more people from the bar to prepare for his fight with Frost. They now looked into one another's eyes from across the caged-in ring. They were both natural born killers and, might not be crazy enough to warrant a trip to Arkham, but they were both psychotic nonetheless.

Rudy's blank yellow eyes bored into Killer Frost's seductive, yet fierce eyes. Despite whatever feelings they might have developed for eachother, they were both determined to win this fight, no matter what the cost.

The bell rang to begin the match. The Parasite smiled.

Dinner at the Kent home was as wholesome as an event as one would ever want. The scene is reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. Everyone did their part. Martha cooked, Johnathan set the table and washed the dishes, and Clark, having been out of the routine for so long, did what he could when he could. And the newest Kent, the puppy who was dubbed Yum-Yum by Martha, due to the little dog's large appetite.

Elsewhere, far away from the farmhouse in Kansas. A powerful figure rose from an icy crater. It looked into the everlasting night sky and located its new destination. That was where the imposter lived. The figure laughed, and a coarse voice whispered "Me am coming."

edit. I guess I won't be Mr. Miracle...
OOC: Don't worry about it. Thanks to that description from Johny Blaze I think I remember now. And yes you can go to Khandaq. It's not like you know where Black Adam is or anything. If he's not there then fine, continue surveliance till he comes back. Maybe even secretly help people(You guys being dressed as villains and all, anything too big would raise suspicion[SP?]).

IC:
Mr.Miracle-"Ah, the Source Wall... I know a thing or two about the Source Wall. Flash could you scoot over a bit? Thanks. The source wall is where all the answers lie. It is the beginning and end of our universe. Behind that wall is...well...the source. The man. The creator. You have questions, he's the guy you go to. The wall is there to hold back his sheer power. This guy can destroy everything we know as quickly as he created it and every now and then there is someone stupid enough to challenge that power and they become trapped in the wall for all eternity."

Green Lantern-"But what does the Source Wall have to do with us?"

Mr.M-"That my dear John...is the mystery...Hey, "I love the 80s" is on." *grabs a hot pocket from Flash*
Flash-"Pauly Shore's the man."
Mr.M-"You know it."

We manged to put together some disguises I don't see HOW I can fool anyone into thinking I'm Catman, but whatever. Vigilante ended up being Mirror Master, and EM is Captain Cold. I'm worried about EM's nose. It's a serious liability when you're doing recon work... whatever. We went to Khandaq despite my protests, and I decided to just snoop around, try to get a few leads.
First, figure out what happened. Second, confront Adam with the truth.

OOC: You stole the gadgets and outfits of villains including Deadshot? How? Deadshot is currently managing my Suicide Squad mission.

OOC: Alright, cool. Just clearing things up.

Mordru sat on his throne, a multitude of scrying mirrors all around him as he searched for the mercenary called Deathstroke. He has found one ally for this Dark Alliance, but he will need a few more before they can start their war against the heroes that infest this planet.
“Hahahahaha…you do have a sense of humor, I’ll give you that.”

Mordru looks into one mirror and sees an old man dead on the ground with a smile on his face in a dark room, as two villains plot against the Batman.
Mordru turns from his mirrors to face the niche in the wall, “You truly believe that, don’t you? Ah, Hector, that’s what I love about you. Always the optimist. I’m sorry to tell you, Hector, but I’m here to stay this time. There will be no one coming to your rescue this time.”

Mordru turns back to the scrying devices. One shows a masked man on a bike speeding off into the night like a bat out of hell. The Dark Lord does not give this person a second glance, and turns his attention to another mirror.
“HA! Well, he’ll never find out the truth, so I guess the chances of that scenario happening is slim to none.”

In this mirror, Mordru sees two heroes, a Flash and a Green Lantern, as they approach a house in the New Jersey area. Mordru sighs as he the picture fades out and he moves on to the next mirror.
“Where are you, Deathstroke? I am growing…what? Of course he will...he’s a mercenary after all. If money is all he desires, then money he shall have. Teth-Adam speaks good things about this Deathstroke, and, if they are indeed true, he will make a fine addition to our Dark Alliance.”
Mordru turns his head towards the niche, “More hackneyed than the Justice Society? Hector, you have no place to mock our group’s name when yours is no better.”

Turning back to his scrying mirrors, Mordru finally hits pay dirt.
“Ah, here we are. Took longer than I thought it would, but I’ve finally found you.”
Mordru rises to his feet to rejoin his associate, Black Adam, so that they may go and gather Deathstroke. “Hector, I am growing tired of the same old babble spouting from your mouth again, and again. Be quite...or do I have to cast a spell of silence over you?”

“There, that’s better. Do not fret, Hector. I will be back shortly with another guest and we can resume our conversation anew…and, hopefully, you’ll have learned a different tune.”

With that Mordru leaves and travels back to the room in which he left Black Adam.
“Time to go, Mighty Adam. I have found our mercenary.”

The first thing Oswald Cobblepot noticed as he walked back to his office was that a leg from his $4,000 table was missing, the second was that his guards were on the floor, bleeding on his $10,000 carpet, the third thing he noticed was the sensation of the missing leg from said table smashing into the left temple of his skull like a bat out of hell (pun intended...both of them).

He dropped to the floor and a massive black figure picked him up by the collar and threw him back into the broken table, completely shattering it. A few flashes from the bottom half of the figure and sundenly he was coughing up blood and had a size 14 boot on his abdomnen. The figure exposed his full form and Oswald figured out it was The Batman...a very, very, VERY, angry Batman...who seemed to have blood on his gloves and chest.

Oswald was really tired of noticing these kinds of things.

It was then when The Batman spoke. His normal growl was amazingly more frightning then Oswald ever heard it. Indeed, The Batman was VERY angry, and Oswald was fighting himself not to wet the pants of his $200 suit.

"Penguin. Tell me where the Joker is. NOW."

OOC: Doc Ock, I can use you at the moment.

Roy Harper, Arsenal is dead. Deathstroke did not regret it, but merely thought about killing the other Titans as well. Arsenal had hurt his daughter, while Raven had consumed his son Jericho.

The Titans. Sidekicks to the Justice League. He didn't hate them, not what they stood for anyway. He wasn't evil, after all. Just a cold bastard. With the recent calls coming in from the Calculator, assassinating the loved ones of the Justice League, Deathstroke figured that might be the place to start, the Justice League.

Taking off his mask, Slade used a blade to pin it into the rock against which the dead body lay. They'd find him soon enough. He'd have the Teen Titans after him AND the Justice League. Cheshire too.

OOC: 200$ suit? Cobblepot's cheapin' out! :D

Damn, I nit-pick alot. :(

Black Adam rises to his feet. "Finally," he mutters petulantly. "Where is he? What was he doing? Anything you saw might serve to sway him to our cause, just in case he has more on his mind than money for once."

I come awake to the sounds of Gotham and give a slight smile. I moved myself into a seating position and rubbed sleep from my eyes. Then it dawned on me what I done. I remember the terified faces of Ivy, Alfred, the goth kid, and that receptinist.

"God forgive me." I put my head in my hands and wept.

.....................................................................

"Alfred I'm so sorry." I walked into the living room and became instantly alert. The flower pots were smashed, tables were knocked over, and there was no Alfred. I looked at the wall and it made my blood run cold. In green paint,

JOKER WAS HERE

I ran back into the room and caught myself.

"I don't deserve to be behind the mask."

I quickly put on a trenchcoat and a blue ski mask over my head and I rushed out of the house. Time was running out.

OOC:ok im J'onn J'onzz in this RPG.could someone fill me in on where i am and what im doing thanks.

The Penguin, ever the man to try and keep his cool, merely stood up and dusted off his tux and straightened his dickie bow, picking up his top hat and placing it back on his head.

"I could have you arrested for breaking and entering you know, not to mention property damage and assault" the Penguin said with a grin.

He removed his hankerchief from his pocket and wiped the blood from his lips and brow.He looked towards his table again.

"That table was a rare antique.Made in Munich.Priceless.But then vigilantes like you have no respect of other people's property have you??".

"Now then you had a question.Oh yes.You wanted to know where the Joker is".

The Penguin took his cigarette holder out from his coat pocket, popped a cigarette in it and lit it.He took a large puff from it and blew the smoke in Batman's direction.

"My dear rodent how could I,a legitimate businessman possibly know the whereabouts of a murderous, psychotic like the Joker??"

As he was speaking he had inched his way towards his umbrella rack and was reaching behind him for the nearest umbrella.

He grasped the handle and pulled it out pointing it at Batman.

"I'm sure you of all people know that this does not shoot bird seed" the Penguin said with a sinister grin.

"Scrap,Percibil" the Penguin shouted.Seconds later two large vultures swooped in.

"Peck his eyes out!!!"

“Well, it’s funny you say that, because he had just finished a personal job that should help our sales pitch immensely”, says Mordru as he cracks a wicked grin. “When I found him, he had just finished committing an act that will put the entirety of the hero community after him. He will need our aid for protection...for himself, and his injured daughter.”

“Come, Mighty Adam. Let us go to the Navajo plains to gather our mercenary…”
Mordru spreads his hands and a green flamed ankh appears. The Ankh engulfs the two villains, and whisks them away toward a potential third member of their Dark Alliance…

OOC: I'm liking your job portraying The Penguin, Doc Ock. He's just so...unflappable. Pun intended.

I barely had time to notice the buzzards landing on me and started to peck into my skin. It would be quite difficult, since my eyes were protected by the starlight lenses and the majority of my body was covered in a thick kevlar-nomex weave.

Calmly, I got two small electric disks and placed them on the birds. It's not enough to hurt them, but enough for them to think twice about their master's orders. They flew off of me and perched themselves at the open window.

"I don't think they want to, Penguin," I growl. "Now, maybe some other days I might play the little game you try to do, trying to make you stop your 'I'm a legitimate businessman' bulls**t. But that monster has killed someone I hold dear. Now I'm arguing if I should break more of your 'priceless antiques'...or just break YOU instead. Tell me where I can find him, or I'll have more blood on my hands than I have to."

The Joker stood up, brushing himself off.

"That's more like it, Harv. By offing Jeeves here, I've destroyed Bruce Wayne. Now there's only Batman left. And I want you to help me finish him off. Let's go."

The Joker and Two-Dace exited The Boon Dock Bar & Grill. The Joker's car was parked out back. They both got in.

"Fasten your seatbelt, it's going to be a bumpy ride! HA HA!"

The Joker and Two-Face drove off. They were heading to The Iceberg Lounge. Wait until Cobblepot saw what he'd done to Dent. Oh, this was far better than killing him. Now, he was finished as DA, but rather than just being another chunk of dead meat, htey could actually employ him as an accomplice in eliminating Batman. Why not share the fun around?

The Alliance's two members appear on the Navajo plains in search of their third. They find him sitting next to Arsenal's corpse. Black Adam looks at the corpse and grunts. "Hmph. I never liked those fool teen heroes anyway. Why the Freeman boy allied himself with lesser beings such as these is beyond me."

He turns to Slade, sitting dejectedly by Arsenal's corpse. Black Adam was a ruler of men long before even Deathstroke's ancestors were glimmers in their parents' eyes; he had learned to read the faces of his subjects so that he could provide for their needs. He turned that skill to a different purpose now on Deathstroke. Slade looks back at Adam behind dull eyes, apparently considering the amount of trouble he's gotten himself into by murdering Arsenal. "But wait. Is this Deathstroke? Is this the man who took the business of assassination and raised it to an art? No, it can't be. This man is broken down; a shadow of his former self. Come, Mordru. It's clear we're wasting our time here."

Black Adam hoped that Mordru could see the game he was playing here, appealing to Deathstroke's pride so that they would receive a fierce ally worthy of the Dark Alliance, rather than a fearful man seeking only safety under the umbrella of protection from the Titans and the JLA.
