I see The Question standing next to me.

"Its very important, I might have very well saved your life. There's a whole bunch of super-villians teaming up for something called The Dark Alliance. We've already encountered Shade, Deathstroke, Mordu, Scarecrow, and Black Adam. They've killed a lot of us, mostly Titans: Kid Flash, Tempest, Raven, and potentially Cyborg and Speedy. They've also killed Tarantula, Vixen, and who knows how many more. I'm trying to get as many of us as possible in the Watchtower so we can prepare an attack against them.

"Is that important enough for you, Sage?"

 

[The Question]

I see The Question standing next to me.

He and I are alot alike, and yet we seem to hate each other.

He has the unique ability to make you feel guilty for being as arrogent as he is on a daily basis.


"Alright. What do you need me to do............Mr. Wayne?"

"I'm guessing she's all right. I haven't spoken with her lately. But you know what's funny? I didn't bring you here for hero business. You really need to lighten up. I brought you here to pick up chicks. Nothing a drink can't fix, you know? But I don't feel like it anymore. Lately, my body's been giving me visions, feelings, signs of impending danger. After I gave up my ring, I thought the visions had gone away. I was wrong. I think the League needs us, Vic. You in?"

*Not waiting for Vic's answer, I take out my comm and talk directly to Barbara*

"Barb, Vic needs a ride to the Watchtower, I need a ride back to the church. I haven't given up yet."

*I grin at Vic as we begin to dematerialize*

*The Question is of more use to the Justice League than to me taking down the Ripper's Cru. But I wasn't even gonna finish that campaign. I needed my ring back.

I'm not Batman. I'm not used to mysteries and murders and dead bodies int he middle of the night. So when I got to the church and saw the Janice's casket had already been buried in a nearby cemetary, I was jittery. But, I realized, I shouldn't be. I was the same Hal Jordan with or without the ring. But, I did need my ring back.

I took a shovel and began to dig. I hoped my old Boss would forgive me for breaking the peace of Death. I dug until I heard a clin on the coffin. I jumped down the hole and on top of the coffin below.

I should have been the same, with or without the ring, but I wasn't. I had a job to do. It had only been a couple of days without it, but it seemed like eternity.

I opened the coffin and peered inside. Janice's body seemed at peace, but I relaized I had been the one who put her in this box six feet under. After some uncomfortable searching, I found my ring. Finally, I had begun to think I would never feel the emerald energy course through my veins. I slipped it on and I felt the power.

Except nothing happened.*

"Ring, declaration: Phoenix!"

*The ring didn't do anything.*

"Ring, password: Coast, overwrite, reboot sytems functions."

*The ring began to glow. The energy swept through my body as I felt my power come back. My power was back, my ring was back.

I was back.*

 

[Savage]

Shade. Conner. Mia. No. No more death.
"No...That's enough."
I appaear at Arrow's place with a bolt.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Third time it's happened and I don't care how I did it. All that matters is that I'm here and it ends now.

...But he's already gone...Fastest man in the world and I was too late.

Not sure how I got down here. I put my hand to my ear to call the Watchtower when I'm back in the conference room.
"...I give up."
I turn back to the others.
"They're gone...He got em..."


OOC: There. Better? Sans fight since the guy is not even in the room apparantly.

"See if you can find some magic-users here. Since the DA is going after the heroes, this will be one of their stopping places. If they combine their magic to shield us from Mordu's attack for a few moments, it'll give us more time to prepare. Also, if you know anybody down there that would be a target for them, contact them and get them up here. I don't care if they're League or not. If they have a costume, get them up."

"I assume that since we haven't taken care of Mordru, Doctor Fate is out of the picture. Correct?"

"We haven't heard anything from Fate in a while, and I've pin-pointed their hideout to be the Fate's Tower, so yes, you can assume that."

"Damn. Fate was the only person to ever really defeat Mordru. Well, I'll try and call Hal Jordan. He may be ringless, but we'll need all the help we can get."


I take out my comunicator and call Jordan


"Jordan, we have trouble. Get up here as fast as you can"

I snap myself out of my self-inflicted funk, and walk over to where Bruce and the Question are talking.

"Damn. Fate was the only person to ever really defeat Mordru. Well, I'll try and call Hal Jordan. He may be ringless, but we'll need all the help we can get."

"If that's true, and Fate is officially out of the picture here. How are we supposed to defeat Mordru?"

As I speak I begin to feel more like myself again. I hope this lasts.

He's a rock. The glue that holds the League together. The fact that he's worried scares me.


"Our best bet is to find John Constantine. He's not as powerful as Fate, but he's the only chance we've got now."

I'm pulling one out of my wheelchair-bound ass here, but it might work.

"Question, ask Hal if he's still got connections to The Spectre, that's the only other thing I could think of to take Mordu out."

"You know The Spectre only listens to the powers that be. The fact that Jordan abandoned his post won't help things. But I'll try it."

He's very nomadic, but he tends to stay in England most of the time. Superman or the Flash should search for him at high speed."

OOC: I'm just bustin' your balls man. I personally don't believe in God, so I wouldn't think he sent them orders.
