Hard not to feel JR's "choices" conveniently fit the WWE booking bill, 2 of the 4 are on tap for Taker at Mania and Cena vs Austin won that videogame vote thing. I mean how can matches that already happened on multiple PPV's be dream matches?

I felt the same way. We've seen Brock vs Taker and Rock vs Taker. The fact that they are at Mania doesn't change the fact that the bloom is off the rose a bit. The only things close to dream matches there are Austin vs Cena and especially Rock vs Michaels. That one is undoubtedly a dream match.

I just saw the music video for Insane Clown Posse's "Chris Benoit". ugh... The song is actually worse than I would of imagined.

I remember hearing everybody raving about them when they first came out then I saw them perform at Woodstock and I thought it was awful. I could not find one little positive thing to understand what makes them so popular.

It's hard to imagine those really being JR's choices as I'd think his dream matches would reach further into the past. I'd expect names such as Flair, Race, Funk, Hansen, Steamboat and Rhodes to feature in a JR dream match list.

WWE did a Raw Divas focus which pretty much had every Diva (Not posting them all) on the roster bar AJ, the interesting thing was that it had a face among them who is no longer active, comeback maybe on the cards?

I'm watching the replay of Friday Night Smackdown, and I'm thinking if they market Ryback as a Goldberg/Stone Cold hybrid they could have a winner.....

For anyone who wants to see the big difference between today's wrestling and yesteryear, just take a look at this classic Dusty Rhodes promo vowing to get the Road Warriors after they tried to take his eye.

Wrestling use to make you EMOTIONALLY invested into the programs and feuds. The wrestlers didn't stand face to face waiting fr the other guy to cut his promo. You actually felt like these guys really wanted to hurt each other and there was genuine feeling of reality to the programs. So much of today's wrestling feels like a segmented performance show.

I miss that old school feeling. The closest thing we have in professional wrestling to that feeling is the James Storm's promos and his feud with Roode.

This promo right here is the exact reason why The Rock is not even close to being the best promo in wrestling history.

Great memories of Summerslam 88!

Amen!

Randy Orton's 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE's Talent Wellness Program has ended—suspended effective May 30. He returns imminently as he is scheduled for Monday's Raw in Cincinnati, Ohio and Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Indianapolis, Indiana.

According to F4WOnline.com, his suspension stemmed from a positive drug test for elevated levels of testosterone. He reportedly told people that he took a tainted supplement containing the testosterone, causing him to fail, and acknowledged that he should have been more careful. WWE chief Vince McMahon was said to have been livid with Orton over the matter, particularly since he was so "outspokenly indifferent."

Orton's suspension caused a ripple effect on SmackDown as John Cena, Triple H, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were shifted to several shows this summer to alleviate the brand's lack of star power. Punk and Bryan will resume their feud at Raw live events beginning this weekend while Cena will cease making special appearances following SmackDown broadcasts in three weeks. Triple H will continue to make special appearances on SmackDown until further notice.

George "The Animal" Steele joined Inside The Ropes radio this past Thursday. Here are the highlights:

On his character becoming nonsensical in his promos:

I did my own interviews and I was very articulate in the WWF when I got there but once they called me The Animal, and I was doing an interview with Vince and he said I was making too much sense for an animal so i turned into the ooh ooh aah guy and became the comedy character and it was a great run.

On working WrestleMania 2 with Savage:

I had a great time. It was not as stressful as when I wrestled Bruno because Bruno and I were hardcore. I was a cartoon character with Randy so it was easier. Randy was in all honesty, a very jealous guy about Elizabeth and what you saw was sort of real. So then the further I went on TV to make him jealous and the further I got, the angrier he was.

Memories of WM3:

It was about 12 miles from home. The Savage/Steamboat thing was Not my kinda match. i heard them talk that match for three weeks, i was sick of hearing about it. They called the spots, it was a great match but there was no psychology. Andre was a very good friend, Vince and Hogan did not know what Andre would do when he got to the ring if he’d lay down. He sort of kayfabed them. I’m sitting watching, laughing my tail off because I knew what Andre would do. When Hogan slammed Andre, that made him.

Why he left WWF in 89:

I was deathly ill with Crohns disease. I was in hospital for a month, and I knew it was all over, I couldn’t keep wrestling. I didn’t know I’d have to retire, but once I got to hospital, I knew it was over.

On being put into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1995 and founding the PWHOF:

It was fine. they brought my family in. After my induction they didn’t do any inductions for years. I got to talking to this guy Tony Mollano who’s responsible for the boxing hall of fame and I told him there wasn’t a physical building, and so we set up the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Amsterdam, New York. It’s a good thing. We’re not in competition with Vince. But we have a building people can come along and take a look at history.

Thoughts on Montreal Screwjob:

To me that’s one of the biggest jokes in wrestling of all time. Lets be honest, who did Bret Hart beat to win the belt? They give him the belt and then he can’t drop the belt in his own country? Give me a frickin break. By Vince doing the double cross Vince became the hottest thing in the business when all he did was take his belt back. He outdid everyone who walked away like Hulk and Bret.

Quick Fire Thoughts:

Hulk Hogan: Right place, right time.

Bret hart: Lucky

John Cena: Johnny come lately

Ric Flair: needed the belt

Undertaker: One of a kind

The Rock: Great.

Ultimate Warrior: *laughs* thats all I have to say.

Ditto. I havent seen many cut a promi like Dustys "hard times" promo.

Rocks best promos only have one gear. He was never the best at selling a burning personal intensity of a feud in his mic work. Piper, Michaels, Punk, and Foley have all shown more diversity in their work.

Piper could sell a match he wasn't even IN by making it sound important. Thats what he did with Cena and Barrett a few years ago. Cena always comes off looking good when Piper talks about him. The sign of a true mic master. Rock never could put over Cena that good.
