If everyone is predicting Asuka to win I wouldn't be so sure. WWE loves Charlotte and like selling her as the best 4 Horsewoman and arguably the biggest deal in the division. They could also have a cash in during or after the match.

I had long predicted Charlotte as the one to break the streak anyways. Besides both women's champions will be on the Today Show after Mania and I would think they would want both Women's Champions to be fluent English speakers. There is no guarantee that the WWE would provide Asuka with a translator.

The sad thing is Carmella is a good character and alright wrestler. Now so many online want to bury her all of a sudden. She got Ellsworth over with me and I can't bring myself to hate on her. I had too much fun watching her before the dark times came on SmackDown. The days of Talking Smack, The days of Miz killing it, the days of two or three women's feuds at a time, Orton finally in an interesting storyline, then we got that crap WWE title match at WrestleMania 33 which was like an omen for post-shake up SmackDown lol. A cash-in isn't ideal but it wouldn't be expected and it would get fans pissed.

Character development was a thing on SmackDown at one point. Remember it? It feels so far away. Why couldn't Orton and Bray have just beaten the hell out of each other like the story dictated? It was WrestleMania 25 all over again. WWE and their terrible grudge matches.

WrestleMania is far from predictable this year. The SD Live Women's Championship match, the US Title, The IC Title, both tag titles, the Women's Battle Royal are unknowns. There is a certain unknown element to the CW Title match as well.

Asuka is not a lock to win the Smackdown Women's Championship.

Damn they're all adorable. That's life goals right there.

Yep, it's real, I wonder if WWE will mine that over more manufactured guys that the fans don't care about.

Matt Taven pinned Volador Jr to win CMLL's NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship, ending Volador's reign at 1,337 days.

In doing so, Matt Taven becomes just the second man to win gold in ROH, NJPW, and CMLL. The other being Rocky Romero.

I never liked Taven.

We know how these things usually work my friend, so probably.

I wasn't watching wrestling yet(started in mid 98), but having Sting inactive for over a year probably wasn't the best idea, even if it did build anticipation for his eventual return to the ring to take on Hollywood Hogan. That's a lot of lost time. Sting was maybe the most popular face in WCW during a time when WCW was dominating the WWF, but he only started wrestling again just shortly before WWF turned the tides. It's almost like if Steve Austin were kept out of the ring for the entire Attitude Era.

Bischoff might've been a maverick for WCW in many ways, but the way they squandered WCW's lead over WWF is really unforgivable.

Everyone talks about how Nitro beat WWF for like 84 weeks or some such. I mean after WWF took the lead back, their lead over Nitro was considerably longer.

And then you'd tune into Nitro and it looked awful. Production and content wise, the product just looked horrendous.

People say the original Wrestlemania didn't age well, but you have to understand the way the show was booked was to focus the main event after all that build-up back then.

Buddy Rose didn't like that he was going to lose in the opener so he put on a mask to save his image.

Ricky Steamboat and King Kong Bundy were still new to the company so they were put in throwaway matches to establish themselves.

Even though he was retired, Bruno Sammartino making an appearance was still a HUGE deal!

Greg Valentine was still drawing money so he kept the Intercontinental Championship and JYD got the win so that was the compromise.

John Studd was protected in defeat by getting bodyslammed instead of taking a pin.

The Women's Championship and the main event lived up to the hype. Add in a sold out Madison Square Garden, MTV's involvement, celebrities galore, and you have a classic show.

I can watch The Executioner promo multiple times and enjoy it. "THE LEG..I``M GOING AFTER THE LEG."

I don't get what a Phil Collins song has to do with Wrestling. You could have just posted a Cyndi Lauper video here (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Goonies) instead of Phil Collins. Cyndi is overdue for an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame anyways. She should have gone in before Kid Rock or before Roddy Piper passed away.

As for who should win the NXT North American Championship? It should either be Lars Sullivan or Velveteen Dream. I have not decided on who yet. I think EC3 and Ricochet will be in the NXT Championship picture after Takeover: NOLA. I see Killian Dain moving up to the main roster alongside the rest of Sanity and I see Adam Cole filling in for Bobby Fish in Undisputed Era.

Velveteen Dream.feels like the right call. There's something poetic about the idea of he and Black winning championships on the same night.

Would be cool yeah.
Almas is ready for the main roster...as long as he has Zelina.
Black is ready for the title and Velveteen Dream has earned a title with getting a gimmick to work that shouldnt work on paper.

On a unrelated note...i miss Trish Stratus.
Ever since the Rumble i cant help but miss her.
She would be so great in this new landscape that has been created for woman.
I would love to see her return for a year or two.

Lord Alfred Hayes was like a deer in headlights. Being live must have really made him nervous for that first WrestleMania.

When I look at Almas I see the next legendary Intercontinental Champion in the vein of Michaels, Perfect, Rude, or Savage.

Cena “furious” after Undertaker accepts WrestleMania challenge from Heath Slater.

After weeks of badgering The Undertaker to face him at WrestleMania, John Cena was reportedly livid today after it was revealed that the Undertaker has accepted a WrestleMania challenge from Heath Slater.

“Oh for the love of… seriously?!” Cena was heard exclaiming after WWE officially announced this morning that the Phenom will do battle at the Superdome against the former leader of 3MB.

Cena then angrily tore apart a “Never Give Up” towel and hollered “I give up!”

Wrestling fans and pundits alike were surprised by today’s announcement, as it puts Slater in an unlikely main-event position, and puts Cena in Row W, seat 33 in the upper deck of the Superdome (the best seat available on short notice).

Slater issued his challenge to the Deadman yesterday via Twitter — insisting that a WrestleMania payday would be very welcome because he “got kids” — and the Undertaker surprisingly responded with a tweet of his own: “Sure, let’s do this. #RedheadsCollide #WM34 #RestInPeace.”

The news adds credibility to the long-standing rumour that Slater will portray The Undertaker character after Mark Calaway finally retires.

It looks like Cena is going to be doing the valet parking at mania.
