I've still got every PPV from late 1999 to early 2001 recorded on VHS. :D :oldrazz:

lol the only PPV's I've ever bought was Wrestlemania X8 and Wrestlemania XX...both amazing imo.

Oh I didn't buy them, I taped them all. :D WMX8 was very good, but I loathe the main event purely for the Helmsley and Stephanie ego stroking, glory siphoning effect. :cmad:

The Call is from the director of The Machinist, so WWE is getting involved with quality filmmakers. Dead Man Down got a positive review from Chris Stuckman, who's not a big name but his reviews are great.

I love how that reviewer broke down the new Die Hard film. At least Dead Man Down and The Call seem like decent rentals which is a huge step up from most of their other films. Although I though The Condemned was awesome.

Anyone makeup their minds yet on whether Mania 29 is worth a buy or even watching?

I'll just wait for blu ray. It will be fun to watch , but not in a must see kind of way. Unless Punk ends the streak, then I'd be kicking myself , but there's no way that's going to happen....

My 10 favorite Austin matches:

Vs. Steamboat - Bash At The Beach 1994

Vs. Bret Hart - Kuwait 1996

Vs. Helmsley - Buried Alive

Vs. Michaels - King Of The Ring 1997

Vs. Foley - Over The Edge 1998

Vs. Kane - King Of The Ring 1998

Vs. Undertaker - SummerSlam 1998

Vs. Shamrock - RAW September 1998

Vs. Maivia - Wrestlemania 17 (although I think WM 15 is a forgotten gem)

Vs. Angle - Unforgiven 2001

What about you guys?

in no particular order...
vs Bret Hart - Wrestlemania 13
vs HBK-King of the Ring 97
vs Dude Love - Over the Edge 98
vs Rock- Backlash 99
vs Kurt Angle - Summerslam 2001
vs Triple H - No way out 2001
vs Rock- Wrestlemania 17
vs HBK - Wrestlemania 14 ( I got to see this match live! Unfortunately a lot of people were blocking my view though)
vs Undertaker -Buried Alive match Rock Bottom 98
vs Chris Benoit - Smackdown 2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbEJwH7EUSg

My uncle used to tape all of them for me. Now I have a lot of DVDs and Blu Ray. I wish I saved some of the VHS tapes though.

Yea, but then he'd be just a cheap knockoff of The Godfather, and everyone would hate it cuz we'd all rather just have Godfather back.

I think it's already close enough.

I'm late but...CM Punk's DVD is one of the best I've ever seen. What he struggled against to make it to the top, and the politics dealt to him. He really is a Paul Heyman guy. It's not just a phrase.

It was funny listening to him, but he said a lot of things that we had said over the years. For example, Miz main-eventing Wrestlemania 27 instead of him...made no sense when Punk was clearly the better heel.

Definitely worth checking out. You can watch it on Netflix if you don't want to go out and buy it.

That was really good. They also did a good job on Stone Cold , Rock , and Edge. Aside from the NWO and Streak sets I haven't been dissapointed. I can't wait for Mick Foley's next month.

Well Jericho jobbed to the empty talentless void known as Jack Swagger. I think we all saw that coming though. At least Jericho is doing what he said he would and is trying to put younger stars over. Swagger isn't the right guy in my opinion but at least he's trying. Jericho even got a decent match out of Swagger tonight.

Why can't WWE do for more younger talents what they did for Swagger and Dolph tonight? If they did we might be seeing a lot more stars getting more over.

It's kind of a double edged sword. Jericho is willing to put anyone over, but walks a fine line of lowering his status and that might not be helpful. Dolph should be in Swagger's position , that's the bottom line. Not using his gimmick , but wrestling for the World Heavyweight Championship.

I think Triple H has a deeper love of wrestling than Vince does. He was just a fan at one point. Vince has always been on the inside of the business. For example, If Triple H didn't reach out to Bruno we wouldn't see him in the HOF

Triple H can be that bridge that Vince burned with some people. He's technically one of the boys and some people might feel more comfortable dealing with him. I just hope this doesn't corrupt him.

I was looking at the WWE ECW Championship today and it actually wasn't bad. If it was gold then it would've beem much better though.

Personally wasn't too fond of Mania X8. Only matches I liked from that PPV were DDP vs. Christian and Hogan vs. Rock.

Wrestlemania XIX is the top dog IMO, even more so than X-Seven. (From the Attitude Era to now at least, only seen 2 Manias prior to 15)

I thought Flait vs Undertaker and Angle vs Kane were solid. Undertaker hasn't had a bad WrestleMania match since 15.

I think once Michaels got his demons exorcised so to speak that he and Austin put any issues they had behind them. I've never heard of them having any huge issues before Michaels got hurt anyway. Shawn could just be difficult to deal with in general. Even Triple H said Shawn could be a d*** to be around at times--before he got saved. HBK and Stone Cold do seem to be pretty good friends today. They have some common interests outside of wrestling and they're both from Texas.

Trips and Shawn fell out in 2001 to the point where they weren't speaking to each other. Vince sent HBK home for being out of it and was told not to come back and HBK blamed Trips for not sticking up for him.

It just goes to show how much of a dick Shawn really was that he even alienated his best friend.

Interesting I never knew this I always thought that Vince let Shawn get away with most things.

That was a great match, good work by both guys, and even the interference was done perfectly.

That whole show was fantastic from top to bottom mostly. I still have it on VHS. Yes I know, I typed VHS. :funny::p

The Rock is appreciative of all the positive comments.

Vince kept Shawn around even after initial retirement but apparently the night in question was the straw that broke the camel's back.

This is directly from HHH's mouth, he said it in the WWE's HBK special. I saw it on YouTube but can't find it now, will post if I can find it.

Now that Impact is on the road full-time wil TNA be broadcasting Impact Live full-time/bi weekly or occasionally?

Last PPV I ordered was Judgment Day 2004. I did it to support Eddie. Been watching the shows at my local sports bar ever since Vengeance of the same year and I can't even imagine how much money I saved doing that. If the show is good enough, I'll buy the DVD / Blu Ray.

@Batman

1) Never heard that one before nor I do believe it for one bit.

2) From what I understand, Savage was very protective of Liz, which she wasn't fond of. After staying with The Hogans one weekend, she coincidentally filed for divorce. Savage blamed Hogan for the failure of his marriage (as Hulk and/or Linda advised her to leave him). Combine that with Hogan's politics (making Savage a transitional champion for him as well as never losing to a match to Savage by pinfall) and you can see why Randy hated Hulk with a passion. Hogan claims Savage and him buried the hatchet before his death. Warrior disagrees. I don't know who to believe.

3) Not sure of abuse, but Luger provided the drugs that Liz overdosed on. Which is why many felt he was responsible for her death. He was denial at first, but once he had his spinal injury and found God, he came to terms with what he did wrong. His Hall Of Fame speech before Bound For Glory last year was heartbreaking to listen to.

4) Hogan always wanted to be The Man whether he had the belt or not. Notice when Savage AND Warrior were the WWF Champion, Hogan would be there to steal their thunder. Hogan had it easy with The Macho Man because Savage wasn't much of a politician and more of a team player unlike Hogan.
