I just have ZERO connection to the streak. Every year to me it became "Ok, get this match over with."

I'm glad it's done.

I agree . I'm not sentimental about the streak at all. I would of rather someone else got it but whatever.

Seriously, a historic and tremendous Mania that will be remembered for years to come. If you crapped on the show, I honestly don't know your expectations as a wrestling fan are.

The power of the Streak wasn't just in that Undertaker won every year. It's that he won in incredible matches that were the best on the WrestleMania card, and stood among the best of the year. Judging by his performance last night, The Undertaker can no longer maintain that standard. And so the aura of the Streak was already diminished. Best to end it while it still had power.

Yeah.. I understand the "power" behind the streak.. I really do. I get why people love it. But I swear the past.. 7 years or so, even if the matches WERE good.. I just felt like Taker himself wasn't as into them each year. His talk time would decline every year.. To the point where I swear the only thing he said this year was "YOU WILL REST IN PEACE!"

Taker, IMHO.. was ready.. And he went out on his back like every old guy should. He's a true professional and if HE chose Brock Lesnar (it would have to of been his choice) then I'm not going to argue it. I can see where some people are upset.. Brock IS part time (at least was.. We'll see if he adds dates or becomes full time after last night) and I understand how that upsets people..

But like you said in your other post.. It really couldn't have been a new guy.. I'm glad it wasn't Bryan or Reigns. Brock can take the heat.. He really can..and again like you said there's STORY between the Undertaker and Brock.. and I hope Heyman bring's up Undertaker calling out Lesnar at UFC..

I understand the anger and I understand the frustration people who are attached to the Streak have...But I remember people wishing for Kane to beat the Streak.. while I like and respect Glen Jacobs.. the Kane character, to me, has always been far to silly of a character and Kane going over Taker, in my eyes.. would be far worse than Lesnar.

I am 26 and I been watching WWE/WWF for as long as I have been alive. The Undertaker and the streak has been a big part of WM for me and many other fans for many years. As someone else said, those matches alone were the highlight of the entire WM show most of the time. So I was utterly shocked like many when the streak ended, as it means that the Undertaker is mostly likely retiring and no more amazing matches like that at WM...

Yup. I said that a few pages ago.. If you walked away from this show upset.. or not totally satisfied.. It may be time you walk away from wrestling.

From RoH's facebook.

I'd like to see Bryan go back to THAT look. Longer hair (not super long) and normal size beard, lol.

What upsets me about it is that he didn't even go out on a great match.

I think the response of some is a little muddied because of what happened with The Undertaker. Because since at least WrestleMania 25 the Undertaker preserving the Streak in an incredible match has been arguably the only memorable thing about WrestleMania, I think there's this mental connection that therefore a show that has The Undertaker lose in an unremarkable match therefore cannot be a great WrestleMania.

But this show had Daniel Bryan in two awesome matches, one of which ended with him becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion at long last. It had a good match in John Cena VS Bray Wyatt, which was probably the best Mania match Cena has had since he fought HBK at WrestleMania 23. And it had some memorable, iconic moments, like Rock/Austin/Hogan in the ring together, Cesaro bodyslamming Big Show out of the ring, and, yes, that stunned silence after Brock Lesnar ended the Streak. So, for me, yes, I'd say it's the best WrestleMania since at least WrestleMania 24.

It was a fun show.

I posted this last night..

I still like Taker but haven't been a mark for his character or cared for the streak since WM XX,I was just so shocked cause it actually finally ended and way it was mostly build up I thought it was one of the most predictable WM taker matches

I would miss him but he should have retired at WM 25 or 26,I hope he retires tomorrow night,Him vs Sting is still a dream match but it's probably for the best if he walks away tomorrow night

So I was kinda mixed on it mostly due to shock but today I am totally fine with it,Am glad and am a Brock and so part timer or not..I like it!

Agreed completely. Seriously, and I'm just basing this off as someone who was in that Silver...I mean Superdome, you had great matches, incredible atmosphere, unforgettable moments, unpredictability, live musical performances, great production values/promo packages etc.

BTW, how did the performances come off on TV? The Mark Crozer performance for The Wyatt Family was absolutely amazing live.

The performances were great.. Mark Crozer's was top of the line.. his band playing in those plague doctor masks really set a tone.

Sweet! It was really eerie and awesome all at once. I'm....also aware that the section I was in (Cesaro/YES! section) where very.....into Bray Wyatt. :cwink:

Yeah, that gif of you guys floating around starting the "He's got the whoooole world... in his hands" chant is pretty epic.. and Bray playing it up makes it even better.

Edit: THIS one..

Rev Theory's performance of "Voices" was also quite good.

That bothered me the whole night honestly. I was in total shock and the last six matches were awesome and took taker to the extreme so to see it end here almost ruined it. Almost. Thank god for Daniel Bryan. The final moments made my night. That and seeing the three biggest of all time together at the start. Holy heck.

Honestly Taker's streak ending in a match that WASN'T great... Did suck. As someone that's never been that connected to the Streak.. I still felt like I was punched in the stomach at the three count. I never really expected it to end.. I mean.. I figured someday maybe it would.. but never really expected it to.

I feel bad that Taker went out injured.. that he was blown up not even half way through the match and that Brock had to try make him look as good as he could..Too bad he couldn't have went out to..Heck, Batista in their excellent match. Or even Punk (whom I've obviously lost some respect for) last year.

Again tho..If this is how Taker wanted it to end so be it.. I just wish those two were able to give us the match we wanted from them years ago.

Uh-oh, there are reports online that WWE stock has plummeted by 20%. Let's hope Daniel Bryan doesn't get blamed!

No **** right? I'm still in shock over that. But yeah, Bryan winning is something I'll never forget. That and seeing the Mount Rushmore of Wrestling in the same ring together like that.

Indeed. They sounded quite good live.

The match wasn't even all that terrible, but it didn't have heat. Ironically for the match that ended the Streak, it felt like this was the year more than any others that the fans just checked out, that the result was such a foregone conclusion that the crowd didn't bother getting emotionally invested. As I said before, if they'd made more of a thing out of Lesnar's dominance and Undertaker's declining physical state in the build-up to the match, they could have sold the story they were telling in the ring a lot better.

Well imagine if Undertaker won last night and came out on Raw to retire. People might of been upset the streak lives on forever. I believe it ending was the right move. It was poorly set up ,but I never saw a reason to keep the streak intact forever. It's a business and you have to keep storylines going. Punk walked out ,but the wheel keeps turning. You never stop it for one man.

"WWE Network subscriber count not be up to par? BLAME BRYAN!"

:o

Even though you're joking, the more worrisome thing to me is that Raw is competing tonight with the NCAA National Championship... I could see Raw not popping a great rating tonight because of that & somebody backstage using it as an excuse that "Bryan doesn't draw," even though it'd be ridiculous reasoning.

I said it last night, and Taker losing hasn't changed my mind; That match was boring as ****. Period.
