The Zombie RPG - IC Season Thread

Kincaid stands over Jacob and begins looking around, and says "Typing in the following on the school's web-site username: spenser password:..."

He hesitates for a moment realizing if he says it that they will begin to suspect there is more to him than they realize, but that can't be helped anymore.

Kincaid says, "Kincaid2004 From there go to any news website CNN, FOX, MSN try any of them if they haven't been updated since yesterday then this is a world-wide problem and we may be in more trouble than we know."

I type in the password.

"Hey.. Whats Kincaid??"

I go on the internet and got to the sites.
"Well it looks like they've been updated. I guess where the only ones."

I go on Myspace. "From here I'll be able to post a bulletin I know allot of people outside of the city. Hopefully they'll take me seriously."

I go on the website and begin typing. After a minute I stop and stair at the screen. After a second I slap my forehead.

"Damn it Tom!!!!!!"

Kincaid says, "Someone I used to know who died in 2004. Someone I wish I could be again."

He shakes his head and says, "Anyway what've you got Jacob."

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. Wait did you say be??"

"I meant see."

"Oh... I got nuthin'. The bulletins are down again. I'll try something else."

I begin to type fast looking for help.

(OOC: For everyone who just read this MST3K said he's not going to be back till Monday so he said I can play as Kincaid till he gets back.)

I lift Amanda into my arms and gently lie her down on a nearby sofa. I then look at Ngyun.

"Look after her, will ya?"

He nods and I head over to Jaccob.

"So what's the story, pahtnah?"

(IC: Roger Stone)
Ben smiled charmingly, unphased by the blood splattered on the ground around them. "Let's roll, Roger Dodger." His grin seemed to wash away a little after that. "We keep off the roads. If this place really is in the middle of nowhere, hopefully, we can keep to the forest where these carcasses won't be able to navigate and move around nearly as easily as out in the open space. Once we scope the place out, incase it's crawling with those bastards, we'll make our way into the school. Now," Ben still had the shovel nestled over his shoulder, and stuck his free hand into his jeans pocket and flashed another smirk at Roger, "which way, bud?"

“Um, if I remember correctly it’s about five miles that way,” Roger said, pointing towards the east. “There’s a huge fence surrounding it due to some bear scares. That should help,”

Roger looked at Ben sympathetically. He knew he wasn’t much of a help and was probably just holding this guy down but he was still grateful. Seething his katana, Roger paused for a second, his mind drifting back to Mark. That was the first person he ever killed. He couldn’t get the image of his head. A gust of wind brought the smell of rotting flesh to the student’s nostrils, reminding him of the current problem.

“Ok, let’s go.”

"So what's the story, pahtnah?"

I notice Nguyen's arrival when I turn away from the computer. "I thought I told you to guard the vehicles."

Nguyen holds up his radio. "We've been trying to get hold of you, sir."

I look at my radio and notice I turned it off. I roll my eyes and sigh with frustration. "Right." I turn it back on. "Um, report."

"We loaded a sack of pistols and ammo into the van, as well as a P90 and MP5." He leans close to me. "I didn't think we could trust them with explosives."

"Good idea,"
I reply just as softly. "Did you both grab a bite?"

"Not yet. Jones was thinking we save the MRE's, since they last forever, and get some food from the cafeteria."

I nod, wondering why I didn't think of that. Once again I realize just how out of my league I am. In battle, I'm the superior officer in rank only.

Jone's voice comes over our radios. "Private, did you find the Captain?"

I answer. "I here, Corporal."

"Captain Pierce. No sign of any...zombies yet. But the vehicles are pretty out in the open. Is there any place we could secure them?"

Not a bad idea. "I'll ask. Hold on."

"Well?" I ask the others. "If we can hole up the vehicles, we can wait out the night in here without having to worry about them. Some place with easy access between the cafeteria and where ever we're sleeping. Any place like that?"

"Yeah, there's a teacher's lounge in B Hall."

"The damn bulletins aren't up working again. But I gotta a idea. You try to get on the HYPE and see what you can do. I'll show the Captain around the school."

I turn to Pierce.

"That sound good to you??"

"Fine by me. Let's hit the cafeteria first. Better make sure we actually do have some supplies. Then we'll find a place to hide the cars."

"Who's got the keys to the van?"
Spenser looks up and tosses them to me. "Thanks." I toss the to Nguyen. "When we find some food, take it down to Jones. I'll be down once we find someplace for the vehicles."

I turn back to our new friend. "Let's go."

"Alright lets make this happen Captain."

We walk through the halls in relative silence the only noises we hear are our footsteps. We make it to the cafeteria but the doors are open. There are chains on the ground where they use to keep the door closed. I look to you and nod. I push open the door and stand in surprise.

There's blood everywhere.

I log on to SuperheroHype.com, but there seems to be trouble with the server.

"Damn it! I hate it when this happens."

I log off and notice that Amanda is tossing and turning in her sleep. Curious and a little worried, I walk over to her and kneel down beside her.

"Hey," I whisper. "You okay?"

She slowly opens her eyes, sees me, smiles, and hugs me tightly, catching me off guard.

"Whoa! Heh... Glad to see you're finally awake."

"Yeah... I had a bad dream. But now every thing's okay."

I hug her back. We remain embraced for a little while, then she lets go and sits back down on the couch.

"So... What were you doing in a place like this? It's pretty dangerous here."

"It's pretty dangerous everywhere."

"Touche`."

She smiled sweetly at me. I couldn't help but notice how familiar she looked.

"Anyway... I came here when the zombies arrived. My Dad got turned into one."

"I'm sorry..."

"It's okay. I never really got along with my father anyway. I came here because I wanted to gather information on how this could've happened. I read a lot, and I thought there might be hints about how something like this could happen. I also thought that there might be something on the internet I could look up. Maybe find some survivors or something."

"That's what WE came here to do."

"And I'm glad you did. You saved my life! I'm not sure how i could ever repay you, but..."

She started blushing.

"Hmm... I can't help but notice that you look very familiar. Have we met before?"

"Oh!"

She seemed a little sad.

"I... I go to the same school as you... I... I guess you just never noticed me before..."

"Oh yeah! You're that cute chick who hangs out in the library!"

Her face was bright red now.

"Oh... I'm not cute..."

"You are too."

She said nothing, but stared deeply into my eyes.

Nguyen and I have our rifles up in a second. I push Jacob behind me. "Stay here until we've secured the room." I whisper. I nod to Nguyen. "Private, take point." He nods back and moves in, I follow.

He gives me a hand signal to move left, I do and he moves right. We scan the room with our weapons, just in case something decides to pop up on us. We slowly move, taking each step carefully so as not to slip. Being a doctor, I'm used to the sight of blood. But not like this. And I have to force myself not to look at it and concentrate on the room.

I hear two clicks on my radio. I look over at Nguyen. He points down, flashes two fingers, and signals death. He's found two bodies. I nod and continue on. The sound of a breaking plate comes from behind the doors to the kitchen area. We freeze in place and I signal for Nguyen to hold his ground.

I indicate this room, telling him we still need to secure it before moving on. I hold my position, staying focused on the kitchen doors. Nguyen keeps moving, making sure any bodies he finds are just that: dead bodies.

I look over to Spenser.

"Hey, Spens. Think you could check out that room Amanda ran out of? Make sure there aren't any of those bastards left."

He nods, loads his weapon, and heads into the room. I look back at Amanda. She smiles sweetly at me.

"Aww... What a touching moment."

I look over at the entrance doorway and see a familiar face. Kaleem Obasa. A foreign exchange student from the Middle East (not sure where exactly).

"What are YOU doing here?"

"Just passing through. I saw you and your infidel friends go into this place, and I thought I could pay you a visit."

My eyes widen.

"Did you just say, 'INFIDELS'?"

He walked closer and nodded.

"Yes. that is what my people call you bastard Americans. Ones who do not follow Muhammad."

"Well... it's kinda rude."

He seemed pissed all of a sudden.

"RUDE?!! I'LL tell you what is RUDE! What is rude, is that your greedy government kills my people simply so they can exploit our natural resources. I think it is RUDE that you blame my people for what someone else did, just so you can have an excuse to start a war!"

I pull Amanda behind me and slowly back away.

"Kaleem, dude... I-"

"And I think it is RUDE that you torture and murder, and LIE to my people just to get what you want!!"

He pulls a pistol out from a holster behind his back, and points it at me.

"KALEEM! Where... Where did you get that?"

"I stole it from a military facility that I destroyed."

My eyes grew wider in horror.

"H... How...?"

"It was really quite simple. All I had to do was let one of the zombies infect a soldier I had lured away from his post. Then, well... Use your imagination."

I just stared in horror at what I was hearing. Amanda suddenly got really pissed off.

"You're a monster!! How could you kill so many people?!"

"It wasn't the first time. I have caused the destruction of many other military facilities."

"But... But WHY??"

"Because I know how the American brain works. Once this incident has cooled down, your damn government will blame it all on MY people! They will call it 'biological warfare'. But this epidemic has befallen MY people as well. In actuality... It was AMERICA'S FAULT!!!"

"How... How could you possibly know that?"

"Who else would be behind such a tragedy? You were the ones behind the atomic bomb, now you've created another weapon of mass destruction. It's kind of ironic if you think about it."

Suddenly, Spenser came out of the room i had asked him to investigate, and began firing at Kaleem.

"GAAH!!"

One of the bullets clipped his left arm and he fired back. Spenser dove for cover and me and Amanda dived behind the sofa. When we looked up, Kaleem was gone.

Gunfire rings out behind us. Both Nguyen and I spin to cover the entrance we just came through. Jacob sees us point our rifles at him and jumps out of the way. Nguyen has the presence of mind to spin back around to cover the kitchen doors. Again I wonder why I didn't think of that.

"What do we do sir?" he whispers loudly at me.

"I'm...not sure."
We hear more gunshots. "Dammit! Cover me, then follow up." Whatever is in the kitchen will have to wait.

I quickly make my way to the door. Nguyen follows behind me, keeping his aim on the kitchen. Once we hit the halls, we start running. Nguyen and I look back a couple of times to make sure nothing is giving chase.

Just before we get to the library, a man we've never seen before runs out. He spots us and fires off a couple of shots. I shove Jacob against the wall and Nguyen and I spray the hall with gunfire. My radio clicks to life.

"Captain! Private! What's going on? I hear gunfire."

Nguyen grabs his radio. "Someone up here is shooting at us. Get up here."

I grab my own radio. "No don't!" Nguyen looks at me. "Jones, we'll try and lead him to you. Start heading to the gym, we'll try and trap him there."

I nod at Nguyen and we run down the halls, weapons at the ready.

I see Captain Pierce and private Nguyen run down the hall and open fire on Kaleem. I look at Amanda who is trembling a little.

"I gotta take down Kaleem. Amanda, stay here and wait for me. Spens, keep an eye on Amanda would ya?"

Spenser nods and I run into the hallway. I use the gun Spens gave me and fire it at Kaleem. i miss badly, but it does cause him to retreat down C hall. I look over to Pierce and Nguyen.

"Nguyen, I need you to help Spenser over here. Cap, I'm gonna need you to help me take down that bastard."

I run over to Sam and he tells me everything that happened. A sudden rage builds in me.

"It's all that bastards fault."

I give my shotgun to Sam. I can move faster without it. I run past the Captain and turn left. I know this school like the back of my hand. And I can cut him off from this way.

I run towards the end of the hall and this time turn right. I can see the door he has to escape from. I wait and I see him. He's running towards me. Right when he gets to the door I jump out and deck him in the face. He hits the ground. His gun goes land right next to him. stunned and surprised he doesn't have the time to react. I jump for it. Grabbing it before he does. I get the ammo clip out and throw it and the gun on the other side of the hall.

I jump in front of him and the door. He looks up at me.

"Another infidel?" He ask me.

"Yeah! And you're not getting through this door unless you get through me." I get into one of my karate stances.

"Ha! eh eh eh... Just like your country all Americans underestimate things that are smaller than them!"

He was right but I wasn't paying attention to that. But I had no time to think. He jumped up and did a high kick at my face. I barley moved out the way. He ran at me and punched at me. I blocked at the last second countering with punch to his nose. He his the ground.

"You may be good dude.... But there's no way you're better than me."

Suddenly I felt a burning sensation all through my face. Blood started to pour down it. I looked at him to see he was standing and had a knife in his hand. He lunged at me again. I quickly grabbed my knife from my back pocket and blocked it. I did the lunging this time. He blocked but I was stronger. I scratch his chest with it. Blood started dripping down his chest. He looked at me with complete hatred. There was a bright light. I hit the ground. My eyes were burning. I heard the doors slam. After my eyes adjusted I saw a used flash grenade on the ground. And the captain standing over me.

Jonathan looks over at claire and thinks well at least if she wrecks shes likely to kill us before the zombies eat us. So he just leans back in his seat and reclines as far back as he can before hitting the cage, and pulls his cap down over his eyes. Wake me when we get there or if we get jumped.

He stretches out and goes to sleep and has an odd dream, in it he is walking down a long hallway with doors on both sides and it is like a hospital with the bright lights. He looks in the doors and can see through the windows inside, but its dark he can see inside and all he see's is darkness.

Except for the really bright light coming from the end of the hallway. He keeps walking and at the end he opens the big door and he see's a stretcher with the shape of a body covered by a white sheet on it.

He sees the body and it takes him back to when his younger brother was killed by the drunk driver, brings back all those old memories, it was this situation that caused him to become a cop, his father passing drove him to be a dispatcher and his brother being killed is what drove him to actually step over the line into being an officer.

He walks up and pulls the sheet back and see's his brothers face his eyes are closed but then they open and he sees his brother sit up and try and get off the bed, but his legs were shattered and it was the internal injuries that caused his death, so when he tries to get up his legs give way and he falls and he starts crawling across the floor towards Jonathan who is backing up.
"Wake me when we get there or if we get jumped. "

Claire nodded, "Sure thing." And with that, Claire settled in sort of, moving into the side streets, moving a little slower. For some reason, they weren't as congested here, and mostly were restricted to the yards, or were trying to get into houses. Of course, there were gunshots, and other cars just flying by, some obviously HAD these flesh eating stumblers in the cars with them.

Make no mistake, she was truly gittery and paranoid still, but was finally starting to relax. Maybe not as much as her circumstance based companion here, who was sleeping quite soundly, but she WAS at least slightly relaxed. Enough that she wasn't getting in any wrecks, just the occasional swerve to avoid the blasted stumblers, which didn't seem to wake her friend, which left her worried that possibly he WAS becoming one or something. She saw how still his friend was back at the station before making his move, and to that extent, she made sure her left hand was pointing the firearm at Jonathan at all times while she drove. Fortunately, he'd probably stir around a little bit before noticing her, so she'd be capable of shooting somewhat on the fly, or at least she hoped so. Either way, he wasn't doing anything suspicious now, so her eyes were again on the road. It was slightly odd, in some neighborhoods, it was totally empty, like it hadn't spread there yet or something, or maybe they were just totally deserted. Some buildings you could tell were thick with them, as she could hear screaming and screeching in the dozens count from blocks away.

Claire made sure to avoid the freeway, and just stuck to side roads for the most part. Every once in the while, she'd see a standing squad of cops or civilians making stands or helping the injured, usually in the middle of some firefight. Always from at least a few blocks away as she passed them. Most of them having huge fires where they burned the bodies. This gave her some hope, and that maybe it'd pass. Obviously the local authorities could handle this, then definitely when the military got involved, it'd be no problem. Which reminded her... Claire flicked on the radio, and got mixed signals. Usually people asking for help, and sometimes asking where they could render help, some were reporting casualties, and then there'd be reports or overrunning, some apologizing for stuff, some asking to find family members. Stuff she'd never expect cops to say. Worse yet, it wasn't totally congested like she figure it would be. A lot of the time, she'd make out what they were saying quite easily, and she tightened her grip on the wheel to this fact.

However, Claire let out a huge sigh of relief as she pulled onto the outer roads of the town, leading to the very sporadic housing she lived in, and pulled close to her gates, which were open.

"Not good..." Those gates were suppossed to be closed at all times. It was probably Gregory who opened them for people who needed help or something. Hopefully he was fine. She pulled into the gates, pulling out the box in her purse, and pressing it to close, which the gates did, and stopped the car immediately afterward, and reached over to Jonathan, shaking him a little bit.

"We're here, time to get up."

I see Captain Pierce and private Nguyen run down the hall and open fire on Kaleem. I look at Amanda who is trembling a little.

"No way! Sam, you stay here. Nguyen and I are trained for this." Well, Nguyen is. We start to make our way down the hall. A couple of more shots hit the wall behind us. The one named Kaleem turns right, but Nguyen puts a couple of shots into the wall, forcing Kaleem to go left instead. Towards the gym.

"Nice shot," I say as we give chase.

We turn a corner and hear the sounds of fighting. Nguyen and I peek into the room and see Jacob fighting with Kaleem. Where'd he come from?

Enough of this. "Flashbang," I whisper. Nguyen pulls one from his vest and pulls the pin. He rolls the grenade in and we duck, covering our ears.

*BANG*

Nguyen's the first one in the room. He knocks Kaleem to the ground and puts his knee into his back. I pull out a couple of zip-ties and help Nguyen secure him.

Jacob begins to stir. I stand over him. "And what the hell did you think you were doing?"

"I'm sorry to say but that bastard is the cause of all of this. And I'll be damned if he gets away from me befor I can get a good **** kick on him."

I stair up at the Captain.

"And besides.... I got a pretty good workout and this bad ass scar."

I cringe as a sharp pain goes from my face and head.

"Oww...."

"Civilians," I say, as if I was some tactical expert. I sigh. "Let me see." I do a quick examination of his face. "Deep enough. You're lucky he didn't cut a nerve. Or take out an eye. Or hit your neck."

I finish looking over the cut. "We'll need to clean it so it doesn't get infected. Normally I'd give you stitches, but I don't have any on me. No steri-strips either. Maybe we can find some crazy glue. It'll stop the bleeding, but that scar will be pretty pronounced."

"Captain, this is Jones. Come in."

"Pierce here."

"Sir, I'm at the gym."

"Well, there's no need for that. We got our man after all."

"Well, sir, now that I'm here, it looks like the gym looks just like the place where we need to park the vehicles. The double doors are big enough for the truck, and there's plenty of room."

I nod, agreeing with her idea. "Not bad. We can use the chains in the truck to seal the doors."

"Just what I was thinking, sir."

"I'll send Nguyen down to help. Do the truck and jeep first."

"Yes, sir." The radio clicks off.

"Sir, shouldn't I stay with the prisoner?"

I know he's just trying to help me out. He has more experience in these types of situation than I do. But I can't help getting frustrated anyway. "No, I think we can handle it. Get out there and help the Corporal. The faster we secure our equipment, the sooner we can start resting."

"But what about whatever's in the kitchen?...Sir."

Damn, I forgot about the kitchen. "We'll hole up in the library. Once you two get back here, we'll go check it out." Nguyen still looks apprehensive. "That's an order."

"Sir." He makes sure the prisoner is secure, then runs off.

"Jacob, help me get this guy to the library."

"Those military guys sure know what they're doing." Amanda replied as I stood by the door and watched Pierce and Jacob drag Kaleem into the
room.
"Maybe, but this is a fight for survival, not some war. besides, I'm pretty sure this was the military's doing anyway."

"How so?"

"Have you noticed all the military bases that started popping up within the last few years? Ad that along with what Kaleem was saying, and everything starts to make sense."

Amanda lowered her head and thought about this, while I sneaked away into a secret door that would take me to the cafeteria's kitchen, when no one was looking

The shake wakes Jonathan, but he wakes thinking about the nightmare he had. He looks around and see's the house, Nice Place He wonders to himself about how much a place like this goes for, he notices the security gate is open and looks over at claire I never did ask you what you do for a living this place looks like it would be expensive. Jonathan looks at the radio and listens to some of the information being passed back and forth not alot of it is useful information so he decides to stay off the airwaves for now.Now what? Do we clear the house or do you have something you are needing to take care of here?

Kincaid says, "Hold up on that for just a second Pierce. I might be able to help Jacob."

He goes over to Jacob and opens up his back-pack and gets out his first-aid kit. Kincaid puts on a set of rubber gloves, opens up a small bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide and pours some of it into a ABD.

He says, "I won't lie this is going to burn like hell however it'll cleanse the wound. After that I'll put a wrap on it. Try and take it easy for a few moments in the library."

Kincaid puts the bandage on Jacob who "expresses his discomfort" with several colorful metaphors. After he settles for a moment Kincaid wraps up the bandage.

He says, "In about 2 hours we'll change that bandage. Don't worry you'll have a nice scar you can tell your grandkids all about and yes I can tell you most of the time chicks really dig guys with scars."

I watch as Spenser expertly cleans Jacob's wound. But Sam's words make infuriate me. I slowly turn around, trying to calm myself down. I didn't want to explode...

"The MILITARY!!! You really think the military did this!?!" I step right up in his face, making him take a step back.

"When we left our base, everyone was either dead or surrounded by zombies! We had to leave people behind. I had to. We left them to die. I shot a man in the head! He was begging for my help, and I looked him in the eyes and blew his brains out because he was bitten!" A day's worth of frustration pours out of me.

"And you have the balls to say the military did this? That they killed they're own people and everyone in this town?" I shove him against the wall. "ANSWER ME!!!"

I stand there for a second, and realize everyone is staring at me. I let Sam go and shake my head. "Dammit." I march out of the room before I do something even more stupid.
