They brought back a member of the original cast who is dead, so why didn't they bring back one who is alive? They should have brought back hackman as lex. His age doesant really matter, as the character is all about evil scheming and plans. Hackman is also in pretty good shape for his age.

umm....no. Kevin Spacey was a great choice for Lex. It was the direction Singer took with the character that was off.

There were glimpses of a sinister Lex in Spacey's performance........if given the right direction, I think Spacey would have made an awesome evil corporate Lex!

agreed. They should have also left the subplot that LEX was responsible for the whole "Krypton Survivors" story that tricked Supes in the first place.

I agree very strongly with both your posts super-bats (and strangely enough yours too El Payaso). I think Spacey is the perfect choice for Luthor, and I feel his talent was wasted on such a dry and flat interpretation of the character. Would have been so much better as sinister rather than just angry.

Spacey's performance was the one I was looking forward to seeing the most upon seeing SR for the first time. Unfortunately, I wasnt too happy with the direction Singer chose to take with the character. Give me the Lexcorp Lex Luthor over the land swindler Lex anyday.

I really would have loved to see a buff Lex like on STAS, and yes a vicious heartless Lex would have been great a Lex that wouldn't need Kumar to fight his battles.

Spacey was awsome as Lex! Although, I would have liked to see him play the bussiness man Lex instead, he still did a great job.

The scene with him and his goons beating on Routh was a great dark scene. If Spacey does come back, I hope to see more of that cold hearted Lex.

That is the modern Luthor I have yet to see on film....only small sections of Smallville and the JLA Cartoon have captured the smart side of Lex.
