That's simply a matter of the tasks set before them. Juggernaut mainly served as a battering ram. He wasn't required to lift anything heavy, so we don't really know what he can lift. He didn't go toe-to-toe w/anyone else who had super strength, so we don't know what kind of punishment he can take. The only thing he was required to impact were walls. All we really know, as they said, is "No object can stop him." Theoretically he'd just charge the Thing, plow through him & keep going.
well based on this, juggernaut is the strongest most undefeatable person in all movie comic history...

it's the same reasoning hulk fans use in the comics, the whole 'madder he gets, stronger he becomes' argument all over again.

alright this whole juggs momentum thing is putting me off...

juggs obviously isn't the smartest tool in the box, he couldn't even tell when kitty had stopped running infront of him for a while.

Now let's look at the facts

JUGG'S HELMET CAN BE REMOVED IN THE FILM VERY EASILY.

It wouldn't be hard for the thing to remove his helmet, he obviously will feel pain since his powers aren't based on being invulnerable so removing his helmet will significantly help the THING's cause.

secondly Jugg's operates like a bull simply charging at people in a linear motion which makes avoidance of this attack extremely predicatble and easy to avoid, he hasn't got much depth in his fighting skills.

also this whole 'nothing can stop him' can be easily overlooked. You don't have to stop someone to hit them in the back of the head and thus keep their momentum flowing. If the thing managed to get his helmet off and then bashed him on the back of hte head while after he had sidestepped one of the jugg's charges, a few of those would surely give him thevictory.

and i think ben is smart enough to work this out.

His powers aren't based on invulnerability? If that was the case then he would go splat into the first wall he collides with. The Helmet is a weapon. Not protection. Brass knucks for his head.

And I'm sure his powers don't only apply to running which means when he punches you, there's no blocking it. He punches you, he goes through your head (if you're mere flesh and bone). The Thing and Wolverine can take it for obvious reasons but it will hurt like hell. Who cares if he isn't smart? He's unstoppable. All you can do is avoid him (as Wolverine learned the hard way).

In short, I don't think there's anything The Thing CAN do against Juggernaut. He can tag him but who's to say it will do anything for a guy that can go through walls like they're not there?

the juggernaut mentioned his helmet 'keeps his face pretty'

sounds like protection to me...

:o

feel free to dispute that, he said it himself

Love the Thing in the movie ... but Movie Juggie was pretty frickin' impressive.

My take? Movie thing got his a** handed to him by movie Doom. Doom is my favorite villain but still ... Juggy would have taken movie Doom. In the short time they fought movie thing was breathing hard. Movie juggy took the various things thrown at him and came back for more.

Ergo .. Movie Juggy takes this one.

How is a helmet going to protect your neck from snapping when you run head first into a wall though?

^The helmet is only there for protection from psi attacks, it has nothing to do with physical protection. Even if Jugs takes the helmet off Thing will get a pounding.

In the comics it's for psychic attacks. In the movie we don't know. He's making the argument that it's for protection (physically). I think it's just a weapon like the knucks on his fists.

the shape of the cone distributes the force of impact down the cone to the shoulders rather than directly through the neck

he also has a slight level of superstrength that aids this but yeah, the helmet is pretty much a force distrubuter/redirector and also shields him from physical harm.

he said it himself.

you say brass knuckles, i see it more as a boxing glove protecting his knuckles...

Is there anything left of the Thing? Oh yeah, he is hiding in France.....

collosus houses both of them

As a matter of strength the movie Hulk would kick both of their arses, as a matter of unstoppabilty the movie Hulk would kick both of their arses.

But with that said, I think Juggernaut would beat the Thing, because X3 emphasized Juggernaut's untoppability more with the ground shaking and him running through walls. Also he threw Wolverine around like a rag doll.

Well, the movie Hulk edges out almost everyone. Physically, he displays about 10,000 tons of force hurling that tank. Compared to the Thing straining to stop a firetruck from falling over there really isn't a fight to be had. That said, I can agree that movie Juggernaut would take this. Penn claimed that his molecules are indeed capable of pushing away other objects at will, so even if he's not invulnerable he is capable of enhanced durability. And even without the durability he's always had unstoppable motion (depowering in the comics nonwithstanding).

wait are we talking about the movie versions of these guys, or the comic versions? If we are talking comics its juggernaut would plow through the thing like he were made of tissue paper. He has gone head to head with the hulk, and he was not defeated. The hulk has pummled the thing. No contest. If we are talking about the movie versions, I say they are both taken out by a gang of angry comic fans who were disgusted with the movies

We're talking about the movie versions, though I have to agree that if one were to bring them to real life they would probably be soundly bludgeoned to death.
