Things that you can't understand the popularity of.

Scooby Doo. I mean seriously! Nearly 40 effing years with a few gaps!
It's a mystery solving talking dog. What's there not to like? Not to mention there's all the ripe subtext of them being high all the time, of Velma being a lesbian, and Fred and Daphne having sex when they split up.

Thin chicks. Seriously, if I can see ribs, wtf. The chick who played Leonard's Dr girlfriend on Big Bang Theory is the new Jenny Craig spokesperson. Why the hell did she need to lose weight? She was smokin.

Nickleback - Would rather cut my own ears off than have to listen to their music.

Twitter - Its the stuff stalkers dreams are made of. Seriously I swear it was invented by stalkers.

Twilight - I can understand why tweenage girls would like it but not anyone who is a female over 16 or male.

Avatar - I liked it but take away the hype over the visual effects and its pretty average movie.

Leonardo Dicaprio
Leonardo Dicaprio loves playing roles where he has to act panicked or freaked out.

Oh yeah, Lady Gaga. She's fun, but enough already.
It was better when Grace Jones did the whole eccentric popstar thing

Pirates of the Caribbean

the Kardashians

Tila Tequila

Paris Hilton

Tom Cruise

Taylor Lautner

Sarah Palin

Bill O'Reilly

Rush Limbaugh

Glenn Beck

Social networking sites.

I had a facebook and a myspace all I ever got were app invites. My real friends would contact me directly and tell me what was going on. Also I don't have that many friends and I don't need to stay up to date with people that I don't really like anymore.

The only thing I've seen social networking sites accomplish is act as evidence for stupid criminals and break up marriages when wife adds ex or husband adds attractive co-worker.

Gears of War.
It's like Avatar, except in game form. It takes other peoples ideas (story, design elements, controls), adds a little bit of innovation (ok, it took those controls, which are the same as Resident Evil 4, and brought them to a new level), and voila! You have a huge megahit that everyone thinks is awesome, then they come to realize how mediocre it really is.

I've never thought of Resident Evil 4 when playing Gears of War, really don't understand the connection. I won't say it's the most innovative game, but it is fun, really wish more games stole it's cover system.

Well... they are rich, but they chose to dress like a bunch of drunken slobs.

They aren't rich, their parents are rich.

What I don't get are the Facebook games, Mafia Wars, Farmville, etc... I've blocked them all just don't understand any of the appeal.

I totally agree with this. I have never been on myspace/facebook/facespace etc. Some people I know spend more time on those sites than with their real life friends and families.

Being in Denver away from all the friends and family I grew up with, I can tell you that Facebook has been valuable in keeping up with what's going on in their lives and keeping them updated. Also, I've been making new friends from across the country and it makes for a convenient way to keep in touch.

I have Facebook and I frequent it alot. FB helps me gotten in touch with all the high school and college friends I have lost contact with, and some of the games on it are actually fun to play with, esp. since my family & friends also play them. I guess I'm a big proponent for social networking sites, but I can understand if not everybody find uses for them.

Oxygen
Carbon
Hydrogen

Seriously, screw them, anyone who knows anything knows that Thallium is where it's at.

Twitter
Facebook
Myspace
Twilight
Avatar
Wrestling (the fake kind on TV)
Reality TV (includes crap like Survivor and The Bachelor to major crap like Jersey Shore)

Same for me, its an easier way to stay in touch with friends and family back in the UK. Also I've come into contact with so many school friends that I probably havent seen since school.

Mine.....

Twitter: Don't see the point in having one unless you're a celeb or you have something of interest to say e.g "new 2010 tour in Europe" rather than going in the shower.

Apple: Don't really get the hype of their products, overpriced not very innovative and out of date within months lol

Blackberrys: Not sure what its like in the states but everyone is going crazy for these in the UK. Everybody talking about BB pins blah blah but i'm like you may as well just use windows messenger or even facebook chat cause most of these people have both of these lol
I just think they're so ugly and don't do anything to push the envelope of mobile phone technology.

Why does a celeb need it, for the most part their lives are as boring as ours, actually probably even more boring. "Sent personal shopped out to get new underwear", "Waiting for lighting to set up the 2 second shot for the movie". As for a tour announcement isn't that what their official website is for?

The Hangover. I saw it and thought it was kind of lame with only a few funny parts really.

Although I use them to keep in touch with family and friends I agree with you on the break up marriages thing. It reminds me of the bull **** people will say about how flirting is harmless.

Flirting when you're already with someone is a thin line away from cheating. Technically there's no other point to it other than to get hookup with someone by showing them that you like them. I can't remember how many stories I've heard where surprise surprise, the flirting led to someone cheating on someone else and in a lot of cases...they blame it on the fact that they were really drunk. :whatever:

Sorry about the rant, it just reminds me of Myspace as well, all these ghetto wannabes teenagers thinking they're hot **** trying to get with every little **** out there, a big cesspool of crap if you ask me.

What I don't get are the Facebook games, Mafia Wars, Farmville, etc... I've blocked them all just don't understand any of the appeal.

Same here. Anytime a friend would send any request I would block it. As I said before I just use Facebook to talk to close friends and keep in contact with any friends or family that live far away.

Something that I can't understand the popularity of is putting those holes in your ears. I can't remember what they're referred to as but it's one of the most fake ass things there has ever been out of most of the trends out there. Piercings in your ears is a standard with most women and a few men, but the big holes in your ears just shows how much of a tool you are. Unless your from some native tribe whether it's African or not, you shouldn't be doing that since you're not part of a native tribe and to them it actually has meaning.

This one guy I used to work with at my old job had candy canes hanging from them during Christmas. I seriously wanted to knock him to the ground and punch him in the ears a few times.

I use Twitter, and I follow celebs like Jon Favearu (who gives us updates of IM2 and the like), sports teams (like Lakers and other teams I root for), news (CNN, LA Times), movies (WB, Paramount, Sony, who give updates of their upcoming movies), and even swimsuit models like Brooklyn Decker. :awesome: I don't give out regular updates of my status, except random venting of Lakers' loss and whatnots. I think Twitter is terrific and I'm not sure why every naysayers think you are required to have a million followers or give an update every minute about stupid things like what you are eating and where you are going.

No one shoot me, I just understand why people like him.

I'm beginning to not understand the popularity of Twitter, because even some people who I hear trashing it as being "pointless" or "nonsense" have one themselves. How is it so popular if everyone seems to dislike it?

I'm going to partially agree with that. I don't like the "Hulk Smash" Hulk at all, and I don't really see the appeal.

On the other hand, I love the Gray Hulk and Professor Hulk. They have actual personalities.
