Things that you can't understand the popularity of.

He was a shallow boy scout with a bit of a ladies man thing about him... until Emerald Twilight where he grew as a character. Understandably going a bit potty after his entire home town was destroyed etc etc. Wanting to gain enough power to recreate it. He became a pretty good villain.
And here's something else I don't understand the popularity of...

Character derailment hidden as 'growth'.

Major difference being that those atrocities weren't committed by people that were living according to what the Bible told them, they were doing what they wanted to and attaching God's name to it...Muslim terrorists on the other hand that 'murder the infidels' are doing pretty much exactly what the Quaran tells them.
I know some very nice Muslims, but they aren't living according to what the Quaran tells them...thankfully. The extremists that refuse to be friends with anyone that's not Muslim and kill anyone that doesn't convert to it on the other hand, are.

It's rather ironic when secular people throw around their "religion kills/religion breeds hate!" assertions as though belief in any higher power is required for men to committ atrocities, or to hate. There have been plenty of them without it, and furthermore, if there is no higher power to objectively determine right for wrong, who's to say those actions were even wrong to begin with?

"I look forward to the day she sings about something other than teenage drama. All her songs thus far are all practically the same thing."

Agreed.

The Bible is just as violent as the Quran. The only law in the Bible includes penalties of death for the most foolish of things, and no where is it written in the New Testament that the old law has been repealed. Jesus consistently proclaims that he isn't here to change the law, and even once he chastises the Pharisees for not beating their slaves like the word says. Hell people are not being good Christians for failing to kill in the name of God if you go by what the Bible says sometimes.

I don't understand the popularity of the idea that a specific religion is an absolute set of rules that you need to conform to to be a part of it. Religion is subjective.

I agree with you. But not in the case of Hal Jordan. What was he derailed from? A character who was the definition of "powers over personality"?

I think that's what annoys me about her. She gets all this credit for being a great songwriter. But really: is it that hard to write your own songs when you essentially write the same one over and over again?

I don't really care much for her as a songwriter, and I don't really have any songs from her, but when I do hear her, I think she can sing. I never said she was the best at it, but she can sing. People have such high standards of who can sing and who can't, its ridiculous.

I think Gaga is very talented. She doesn't just write her own songs, she's a ghost writer for countless other top artists.

But personally, I don't like her music. Some of her songs are pretty catchy and some of the beats/sound she uses are pretty cool, but it's just pop fluff really. I hate pop fluff in the most part.

Girl, Interrupted.

Why do people love this movie so much..? Mostly girls. Teens.

Angelina Jolie and Wynona Ryder onscreen at the same time? I don't mind so much. Volume's off but I don't mind so much.

3D fad, I'm not impressed and getting a tad overboard

I like tea too.

And to be honest, I enjoy good films, as in films that worth seeing in 3D, like Avatar and How to train your Dragon. I do not need to see Clash of the Titans in 3D, and I sure as hell do not need to see Green Hornet in 3D. That film's gonna bomb, I can tell.

Being negative just to be negative in a topic that is fairly positive. There is no A hole quota that needs filled.

to add to that, I don't understand the glorifying of not snitching on people. It's one thing to be a tattle tale, it's another thing to actually do the right thing. Tattle tales are annoying and do it to be a nuisance while "snitching" is SUPPOSED to prevent or put an end to things of an important nature.

These "gangstas" say they don't snitch, so if they were to get shot and survive, would they still not snitch on that person that shot them. seriously, it makes me  that some people would not report to the authorities for the sake of not looking "weak"
