Major difference being that those atrocities weren't committed by people that were living according to what the Bible told them, they were doing what they wanted to and attaching God's name to it...Muslim terrorists on the other hand that 'murder the infidels' are doing pretty much exactly what the Quaran tells them.
I know some very nice Muslims, but they aren't living according to what the Quaran tells them...thankfully. The extremists that refuse to be friends with anyone that's not Muslim and kill anyone that doesn't convert to it on the other hand, are.
It's rather ironic when secular people throw around their "religion kills/religion breeds hate!" assertions as though belief in any higher power is required for men to committ atrocities, or to hate. There have been plenty of them without it, and furthermore, if there is no higher power to objectively determine right for wrong, who's to say those actions were even wrong to begin with?
