Things You Don't Understand

What's being black have to do with it? We don't all like the same thing.

Perry's plays suck too, btw...

I didn't want some idiot to flame me by saying I don't like Tyler Perry because I'm not black. It's happened before. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

And yeah his plays suck too. Yet, I still don't hate Tyler Perry, just all of his work. I thought his cameo in Star Trek was pretty cool.

TNT has Leverage, which was a HUGE hit for them last year....I read that Raising the Bar is good, but it doesnt interest me

Inside the NBA is good too, I won't even watch the game but i'll watch the show aterwards

Raising the Bar and Hawthorne are really bad, imo. The dialogue and acting are so cheesy and cringe-worthy.

I saw Hawthorne's stinkfest coming a mile a way, that fact that it's produced by JPSmith kinda made me think that she couldn't land a decent gig so she used Will's money to fund her own.

I just cant find it in me to muster up any enthusiasm for lawyer shows. They bore me.

No one wanted her so she made her own show...Leverage is great though, Timothy Hutton is quite fantastic and Christian Kane can actually be funny when its called for

They're probably scared that an action movie with a female lead won't perform well at the B. O. or won't be worth the investment it would take to make Wonder Woman

They're waiting for someone else...cough, Marvel, cough...to take the risk and crack the elusive code that will make superheroine movies viable. Then WB/DC will copy it, just like they're doing once Marvel cracked the code on how to make a big superhero movie w/ a much lesser known hero. :oldrazz:

If Malin Akerman can improve her acting, I'd be all for her, based on her fighting abilities on-camera alone.

Probably....Id love to see Marvel really take a risk and make Luke Cage...I think you can tell a really good story with it and not have it come across as a "black film"

I doubt Marvel goes to that well any time soon after the Elektra fiasco

You're probably right. But I'm sure at some point they'd like to have a successful She-Hulk or Ms. Marvel movie. They WILL try again.

That would require a director w/ vision unclouded by typical Hollywood stereotype thinking.

BTW, I am not talking about Spike Lee. He's pretty stereotypical in his approach, if you ask me. Just from a different angle.

come to think of it, I don't think Marvel has had that many strong female leads in any of their movies. I'm not saying they were bad, just not memorable.

I'd go for a Ms. Marvel/Warbird/Binary/whatever the **** her name is this month movie

Seriously the only female characters that i have been able to stand at the end of their run are Aunt May and Gweneth Paltrow

Oh, I thought Jean Grey & Rogue were tolerable, even if they didn't quite resemble their comics couterparts(mostly Rogue). Connelly's Betty was pretty good, as was Kidder's Lois. I could tolerate Tyler's Betty but she and Norton didn't have all that much chemistry though. But that's about it.

Oh, and whoever played Ma Kent(both actresses).

:woot: So would I - if they did a decent job with the script and got a good enough actress for the role.

I don't understand why I haven't changed my location since Christmas.

I liked the way Mystique was played. Granted not many lines in the role, but some of them were excellent.

I don't understand why the hell Law and Order is on like every day on five different channels. Every time I turn on the tv there's at least one LAO on. It's not even that good of a show. It's so damn bland and uninteresting.

Im more of an SVU fan, but it is a bit excessive....people watch it though....behind the soaps and cable news its the 2nd or 3rd most watched thing on daytime tv
