What are things you do not want to see happen in the next batch of Superman movies?

I don't want to see the main villain killed off at the end of the movie like with what happened to Venom in Spider-man 3 if their not killed off that quick in the comics like with Doomsday. The toughest villains for Superman should not be killed off, somehow they should persevere to reiterate the fact that they are badass. The spider-man movies should have had Ryker's Island, the batman movies should have had Arkham Asylum and Superman should have Stryker's Island in it to avoid this problem with some villains.

Anybody against having time-travel?

I'm against time travel.

Lex Luthor CANNOT be the only villain thats my main thing

Lois and Superman baby drama.

i agree i rather like villains to not be killed so maybe they could do a team up in a future movie if possible. I also say no kid stuff again(totally stupid move there). Time travel i wouldnt want superman doing it on his own like he did in superman the movie or what not. But if say legion or maybe a time traveling villain came in i wouldnt mind that.

Superman kill.
Kryptonite.
Connections to the Donnerverse.

No time travel.

No "dark, brooding" Superman.

No Superman killing anybody. (The lifting of NK in SR resulting in the deaths of Lex's henchmen doesn't count.)

No gigantic spiders, suit-in-a-can, or anything that would seriously deviate from the mythos.

No editing out scenes that would move the film along. Return to Krypton comes to mind, as do the scenes on the farm with Martha and Ben.

But the biggest thing I don't want to see happen:

Someone else other than Brandon Routh wearing the blue and reds.

As for kryptonite i still want it used. There is alot you can do with it. But at least for first film it should just be one little peice and have clark learn there is something that could kill him.

I don't want to see:
-Superman retreating
-Superman crying
-Superman's villains turning good

Ridiculous over the top Donner Clark.

Brandon Routh.

Bosworth.

Jason (the kid).

Donner Lex Luther.

if it's a straight up sequel:

the villain has to be braniac. he's the only one worth doing. they also have the perfect set-up now that the continent of new krypton is out floating in space.

don't do the death of superman so soon - wait for a few films down the line. it's too soon after superman has "returned" to kill him off in such a dramatic fashion.

No over-the-top cheese. (we dont need to go from one extreme to the next)

No superman that is unsure

A suit thats ''too'' dark.

no Lex as the main villain (again).

Idiotic one-liners.

Not that Superman has had too many but it seems to be canon in superhero movies nowadays.

 A Superman who knows what to do every single time would be beyond boring. Basically you would get a bad version of the SR Supes. Superman has to second guess if he doesn't then that takes alot of the interesting aspects of Supes and any movie character in general. Every character should have a conflict. In Supes case a physical one and a mental one

Regarding suit: I just want it as dark as it was in JLU

I think he means no Superman doubting himself.

(The lifting of NK in SR resulting in the deaths of Lex's henchmen doesn't count.)
It counts for me. I include a situation like this in my "don't do" list.

I want a confident superman next time around. Yes, he can of course be unsure about certain situations and what to do about a villain. What i'm talking about by saying unsure, is how he feels about himself, and his place in the world.

* Don't try to remake the Donner film.
* No Lex as the villan. He could be in the film but start off with a villan like Metallo or Brainac. Someone who's a physical threat and equal
* Offer the audience something that other incarnations haven't yet.
* Show the audience why the world needs Superman in the 21 century

what about making things turn out to be something they never were in the comics. for example, Jor-el has been on earth before and met with Johnathan and Martha and therefore specifically made sure Kal-el's ship would crash near their farm.

Nothing remotely Donnerverse like. You have five movies with that version, and a CW television show sucking off that very tit as well.

New condition for my list:

Nothing from "Smallville".

Says a guy that likes a show that has butchered the Superman Mythos.
