Villains with goals (the usual Master Plan) that doesn't involve getting revenge on Peter.

We've had two films that had villains that really never had a master plan that involved endangering the lives of countless innocent people outside of their main vendetta of getting revenge or killing Peter.

Doc Ock and the Lizard were the only villains where their main goals didn't involve getting revenge on Peter.

I'd like to see villains who actually have specific, let alone, bigger aspirations outside of killing Peter that would put all of New York and other parts of the world in danger.

That's why I kind of like the idea of Mysterio as a major villain. Didn't he fake an alien invasion at some point? His plans usually involve tricking the populace in some way, and I think that concept could be the foundation for a really different approach to the villain's scheme. Plus, he wasn't "driven mad" by anything (and instead focuses on driving Spidey mad). He just has old-fashioned motivations like fame and fortune. Him wanting to "replace" Spidey like he did that one time could be an interesting motivation as well....although that could just remind people Syndrome from the Incredibles, lol. But I've always liked the visual possibilities he represents.

Agreed with the things mentioned above;

Like everyone else have heard, I'm definitely one to believe in the term "A hero is only as good as his villain" and I want to see Peter encounter a villain who won't be portrayed as sympathetic for once, and someone who's properly developed and portrayed as someone that's evil and that needs to be defeated in order to ensure the safety of innocent people. I mean don't get me wrong, I like multi-layered villains as much as anyone, but I'd like to see depth added for once where the villain isn't a result out of some tragedy or even over a love dispute, etc.

Peter already has enough of the "guilt factor" when it comes to things like his uncle having been killed off or how Connors turned into the Lizard, and potentially on how Norman ends up exploiting the completed equation that Peter had given to Connors in the first place. I want to see a villain that's arrives where his/her creation isn't because Peter was involved in some way. I mean, if all of the villains that Peter comes up against are ppl that Peter shares some responsibility in them having been created, that Spider-Man would be more menace than hero since it wouldn't be far from the truth to say that he's responsible for a lot of the crappy stuff that takes place in Marvel's NYC.

I'm not so sure the Goblin will be born out of Peter's equation. Seems to me that the Lizard debacle would deem the cross-species genetics approach as a failure, and he may turn to something else entirely which triggers his transformation. I like that this Goblin is already being set up as a not-so-sympathetic villain. Everything we've seen surrounding him so far suggests he's already a shady, shady guy, terminal illness be damned. He already seems more evil than Willem Dafoe's version (pre-transformation of course), and we haven't even met him yet, lol.

Things i'd like to see

*Electro and Vulture as unsympathetic enforcers who work for Oscorp
*Introduction of Harry Osborn and the return of Flash Thompson
* The mystery surrounding parents as a central part of the story
* Peter and Gwen working together as a couple , i.e no love triangles , no breaking up, no fights
* Peter still in highschool
* Miles Warren as a sciencetist who knew Richard and Mary Parker , and who has the answers Peter is looking for.
* Spiderman still on the run from the cops
* Villans who don't want to take over the city but who are targeting those who know the truth about Oscorp and their experiments

Vulture: Vincent Cassel
Miles Warren : William Fitchner

Honestly I would like a villain that doesn't have ties to Oscorp...we know we are getting Goblin...i'd just hope that no every bad thing that happens to Peter comes out of Oscorp.

The costume's the only aspect I'm worried about, tbh. It's so hard to make that look cool in live-action (as I'm sure the costume designer behind the Power Rangers version in Raimi's film can attest to). I mean, the very premise that he basically wears a Halloween mask/costume is kind of a tough sell, dramatically speaking.

I want the police to still be after spidey in full force. Stacy ordered an arrest warrant and and as far as the movie shows that hasn't changed.
I like the dynamic of Peter being hunted by the police, the press giving him a bad name and he STILL puts on the suit.

If JJJ is introduced in the sequel maybe Capt. Stacy's death can be a factor he can use against Spidey.

I'm nervous about JJJ in the sequel. Because even if you didn't like the Raimi movies there is no deny that JJJ was PERFECT. Hard to top perfection.

Perhaps he was the perfect comedic relief but he can be utilized differently and more seriously.

That's why you go and do something different but good in its own right. A different take on JJJ that's still true to the comics. You don't need to top JK Simmons.

I'm going with the assumption that GG isn't going to appear in the movie so the villian they use (and I'm hoping for Mysterio or Electro) just have them the villian, you don't have to see them being 'born' and for PITY SAKE just make them a villian that just wants to do bad things. I've just about had my fill of symapthetic villians who are connected to peter in some way.


Also if you have a villian who is essentially human (for example Electro, Cameleon) then you will be able to film pretty much all the scenes and add a few effects in post production which will greatly help with the 2 year turn around.

I guess it all boils down to these factors as well:

1. When do they want to kill of Gwen? And would they be okay with any other villain doing so?

2. Are they comfortable with going with Green Goblin for the sequel after how a lot of critics have noted that they thought that there were too many similar notes used for TASM with the first one?
