okay so, I know next-to-nothing about the difference between these two versions of the same character (if that is what they are)

so from a fan perspective, what're the main differences between these two?

Thor is with out the Odin and/or Rune powers that he got while as King of Asgard
Where are King or Lord (as he was called by Asgardians) Thor has either one or both those powers!

Okay. Here's the deal:

Odin, Thor's father and king of the Norse gods, is powered by something called the "Odin Force". Basically, it's the collective energy and skill of all of Asgard. When Odin, who is without it a highly powerful individual, is infused with it, he becomes insanely powerful. As in, containing nuclear explosions in his hands powerful. Odin died fighting the demon Surtur, and Thor became King of Asgard. He was then infused with the Odin Force. That is King Thor.

In terms of shear badassitude, they're pretty much the same. In terms of power, King Thor is pretty much High level cosmic baddass of the universe.

Well, I have a much simpler formula:

Thor = Badass

King Thor = Pimp

Both equally cool, but in different areas. And you can't really refute my formula. I mean:

I have not seen a more pimpin' sight than this one right here.

Hey I know this is kinda off topic but have thor and hercules ever fought?

King Thor killed Hulk,Thing,Wolverine and Captain America at the same time. He's badass personified.

Actually that was King Thor with no access to the Odin power (he was cut off from it by Strange) and that fight was very badly written. You do not see the battle, and then all of a sudden you see all the heroes down with the Hulk having a log stuck in his middle.

I am not saying that Thor could not beat these guys, even though I think without the Odin power he should not have been able, but still that fight was not very well done imho.

So King Thor is Thor, but stronger and with more power.

cool beans!

I agree. A fight of that magnitude should have been played out over at least one whole book. I would have like to seen it:)

KING Thor of Earth no longer exists because he went back and changed his past with our Lord Thor. (notice the missing Arm)
