Taika Waititi And Tessa Thompson Tease Details About ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ On Instagram

She(Tessa) said that there is a script for Thor: Love and Thunder and that she has read the latest draft. Waititi confirmed and said that they are about four or five drafts in for the fourth installment of the franchise.

Waititi said that the sequel isn’t going to be a “run-of-the-mill” movie and that it is going to up the ante when it comes to the out-of-this-world nature of Thor: Ragnarok. He joked, “It’s like 10-year-olds told us what should be in a movie and we said yes to every single thing.”

Waititi said he won’t have a romantic interest in the sequel because he was “deeply in love and lost that love along the line.” He added, “He doesn’t feel brave enough to find love again.”

However, he did tease that we will find out more about the specificities of Krog’s Kronan culture. On top of that, he said that we will see Space Sharks (also known as Starsharks), which appear in the comics

I lost interest in this once they confirmed female Thor as it’s just not something I want to see. However Taika’s most recent comments just make it sound amazing. And the possibility of a BRB appearance will always have me coming back.

Leave it to Taika to bring the weirdest goodness to the franchise. I can't wait to see space sharks! A great example of something so dumb that it becomes awesome.

Regarding BRB this is what he had to say:

"I mean, I love Beta Ray Bill, and it would be awesome to have him in the film but I just don’t know right now. Things are, you know, up in the air."

I finally got to listen to parts of it and it turns out, he explicitly mentioned Bale! It was in the early part (before the Tessa and Mark appearances) where he was reading and answering questions (for reference, he was doing this during the scenes of Thor back at Asgard in the beginning). He answered a question about who Bale is playing. He just said something like "Christian Bale is playing..." and he pretended that he's saying stuff that's being cut off due to buffering. By the time what he's saying is "clear", it was just something along the lines of "...which was everyone's favorite. I can't wait to see him take that character and it's going to blow everyone away."

I wouldn't put too much stock on what he's saying but I'm relieved that he's pass the "he's still in talks" spiel (which was what he said early this year). That to me means that the negotiations are done and Bale is all signed and sealed.

It's quite interesting that those Starsharks were introduced during an X-Men run in the early 80s, particularly with the Brood involved.

Chris Hemsworth’s latest is ‘Extraction’ — emphasis on the ‘action’ — and these pecs need a rest

Hemsworth can’t talk specifics but said the script from Waititi (who recently wrote and directed JoJo Rabbit) is even weirder and wilder than Ragnarok.

“It’s one of the best scripts I’ve read in years. It’s Taika at his most extreme, and at his best. If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.”

I'm not quite sure what Jane Foster's role is going to be in the movie. I know there was reports that she was going to be taking on the Thor mantle but during an interview for Jojo Rabbit, the interviewer asked who was going to be the "star" of Thor love and thunder, was it Chris or Natalie, and Taika looked surprise at the question and said it was Chris.

Interviewer: Who's the star of Love and Thunder? Like who is it? Is it Natalie? Is it Chris?

Taika: It's Chris. It's a Thor film, he is Thor. It's a Thor film. She's in it.

Yeah then again, they probably offered some very good plans with Jane, so that Natalie changed her opinion of the first two movies

I think Natalie Portman was drawn to T4 primarily because of the possibility of working with Taika. If i'm not mistaken even Feige said as much a while back. Also i would guess that the possibility of donning the mantle of Thor and tackling a "meaty" subject as the cancer storyline is almost too good to give a pass.
