I'd like to see somebody take a stab at reinventing Rage. He's still only a kid, so he's pretty much a blank slate. He can change as a character, become more than the angry black kid stereo type he's been given over the years.
Sigh.
I want rage to run into and "tag along" with the hulk for a bit,.. or maybe even cage as a fanboy.
(I know,.. I know,... too "fanboy" to want something so obvious.)
But there are not too many that can keep up with his stated powers and abilities.

Elvin was a scrawny, geeky kid living with his Granny in her house in Brooklyn. But one day, on the run from a bunch of white kids who wanted to beat him up, he accidently hid in a polluted creek... just as a barrel of biohazardous waste was poured into it! Elvin was drenched in the burning, stinking chemicals, and was sick for days. But then he got better. Much better. And bigger. His muscles bulged, his hair fell out, and knives broke when they hit his skin. He would've used his new physique to get revenge upon the kids who'd tried to hurt him, but his Granny Staples showed his error, and he became a hero instead, confrontationally applying for membership in the Avengers. He got it, for a time -- until they discovered he was only 14, and so restricted him to training status. Fortunately, he'd just met the New Warriors, and when they needed extra help to deal with the Folding Circle and Night Thrasher's meglomaniacal housekeeper, they recruited him. His association with the Warriors became permanent after they convinced him to help 'borrow' a Quinjet from the Avengers, which got him kicked out by the older heroes. Elvin mellowed quite a bit through contact with his peers, and they soon became his friends; but one of the Warriors got on the bad side of a particularly nasty street gang, and the team's family members paid the price. When his Granny Staples was killed, he was put in the legal custody of Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher) and Andrew Chord (father to two of his fellow Warriors -- biologically to Silhouette, and surrogately to Thrasher), and went to live with them. He started at a boarding school, and though at first he didn't like it, he eventually began enjoying it, and he decided to retire his superheroic identity and just try to live a normal life.
Danny:
"Elvin is quieter, more in control of himself. Soft spoken and really intelligent. No longer prone to fits of destruction-causing anger, but sometimes he still gets ticked off. He's attending college on a Maria Stark scholarship looking to enjoy the 'best years of his life' in a normal fashion. That is until he meets his resident advisor Speedball." (2/01/02)
"Elvin has a ton of potential. Some great drama awaits him." (2/2/02)
Jeremy:
'Elvin Daryl Bradley' on the sketch - "Typo! Sorry I drew some of these sketches late, late, late at night. I just drew Chris's sketch right before I drew Elvin's. That Bradley name was just stuck in my head i guess. Holiday[sic] is still his last name." (1/31/02)
Rage Costume Color Test - "Well those colors were done by a friend of mine and aren't the exact colors being used (Rage's are more black and red). He colored it more for fun." (1/28/02)
"Rage will be the one that will surprise us all. Without him this team would...well you'll see (HOPEFULLY!)." (2/2/02)
Why Rage has no eye wear -- "Rage is strong in every way. It is very hard to puncture his skin or any other part of his body. His eyes are the same." (2/16/02)
(Here's an unused costume design for Rage.)
(Commentary on the sketches, and dangling plot threads Danny and Jeremy could potentially use...)
Elvin quit superheroics, revealed his identity to his classmates at his boarding school, and seemed at piece with himself when we saw him last. Was there more than meets the eye to his tranquility? And what will bring him back into heroics?
Is Rage still the legal ward of Andrew Chord and Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher)? Does he still live with them at the Ambrose Building?
When he was last heavily featured in a WARRIORS series, Rage was trying to decide whether or not to tell the 23-year-old single mother he was dating that he was only 15. The outcome of that was never revealed.
A mysterious figure was apparently surveilling Elvin at that time, which narrative captions implied was his long-lost father. Will anything ever be done with that?
