This is a thread to discuss the scenes in movies that weren't supposed to be funny!

As the thread starter I'll begin. The second training montage in Rocky IV always cracks me up! Stallone should have been a comedy writer instead of an action star!

The first things that come to mind are from Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire. Right after they use the port key to get to the Quidditch world cup, they're all cycling in mid air and it looks very, very stupid.

The funeral for Axel's captain in Beverly Hills Cop 3

Whether INTENTIONAL or not is left up for debate, but...

Do it right, dammit! And that scene was supposed to be funny. Robocop is as much a dark satrical comedy as it is an `80s action movie.

I didn't find it funny but a friend of mine laughed out loud during Schindler's List when Schindler's (wife/GF) gave him a choice to choose between her....and I can't remember what else....and the next scene shows her on the train leaving.....I guess he didn't pick her.....

I laughed when Jerry made out with his gf. ;)

All of Paycheck.
Ecspecially when the bad guy sees himself in the time machine at the same spot running away and blowing up....so he runs away and blows up.

that moment was so not funny, i loved tha scene, it made me want to work out naked at a barn

Dude relax. I didn't mean to sound like an a-hole. sorry. :csad:

I'm sorry to. :csad:

It's just that the very first (VERY first) time I saw Robocop, that scene wasn't funny to me at all. Now of course years later, I absolutely get it. The absurdity of it is hilarious, and I know that that was technically what Verhoeven was going for.

But then again, the scene (along with the film) took itself so seriously, that I always felt that the scene, while funny underneath the surface, was played straight. It was the absurdity of it that made it funny for audiences, but it plays unintentionally funny because it's played so straight and not for laughs.

That's what makes Verhoeven's brand of humor so much fun! :D

People nitpick Spidey 3 too much. If you wanna see a really BAD superhero movie then watch this

hahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa

SM3 was still pretty lame.:o

Born On the Fourth Of July, when Tom Cruise gets in a cripple fight argument with Willem Dafoe, also when he is goingoff on his mom about his penis. These are very serious parts of the movie but the 2nd time through them me and my buddy laughed my ass off. I love the movie though.
