Three dead in a terror attack in Stockholm

The number of dead victims is confirmed to be 4 now. At least 12 injured.

Two of the injured are children. :csad:

One person is arrested, and I really hope that's the f***er who did this.

More senseless violence from Radical Extremists and killing over misread idealogy.

RIP to the dead and condolences to their loved ones.

Somewhere deep inside I and many other Swedes have had this feeling that the inevitable would happen some day. Still, it was hard to grasp the reality of what had happened when it did happen. It feels unbelievable, unreal, and terribly sad. Even as someone who lives far from Stockholm, my heart stood still during the feeling that I might have near and dear there, since going to Stockholm over a weekend isn't too far off. Turns out that one of my close friends was in fact there, very close to the place of the event. It was with relief I received the message from her that she's okay. My heart goes out to all of those killed, hurt and their family and friends.

The purpose of these horrible terrorist attacks seem to be to instill fear in the people of democracy. However, I've never seen myself and others here so proud of our country, of our people in Sweden and of people all over the world, as I do today. Politicians, journalists, clinicians, policemen, every fellow human that in all the panic and terror risked their lives, saved lives and provided help. Everyone showed why there is hope in humanity. Thank you and love to you all who helped those in need and who've showed your condelence.

Very well written, and I especially agree on the bolded parts. Not only the professionals (who had a very difficult task here, and handled it fantastically well and efficient considering the circumstances), but also the common man showed great spirit when it comes to helping fellow humans in this very disturbing and horrifying situation that suddenly was throwed upon us.

Yes, we've seen here that there's truly hope in humanity, and deeds out of pure evil like this won't change that.

The brainwashed fools who commit these acts seem completely unaware that these pointless attacks could never accomplish any "goal" they hope for.
They, in most cases, humiliate, mortify and ruin the lives of their friends and family and destroy the lives of the families and friends of the handful they usually end up killing and everybody else just becomes more determined to not give in to whatever unfathomable "cause" they believe in.

Even if Sweden of any other nation gave in -- what exactly would they be expected to do?

These losers make the terrorists of 40 years ago seem like rocket scientists -- at least they usually had a goal that you could understand -- free this, liberate that, release so and so from jail......

To randomly stab or run over or shoot a small group of people and not even have a goal that anybody can understand.

"Some internet dude told me to do this for my religion!" :loco:

That plan won't work in 300 years so whatever. World goes on and I suppose violence will always be with us.
